Update: Ashley did her usual friendly, efficient job at my last cleaning appointment. It was so stress-free I could have dozed off in the comfy exam chair. Now that's the kind of dentistry I like. Last month I brought in my friend Tom who hadn't seen a dentist in many years. Tom had a great deal of anxiety before his appointment but Dr. Tanner and his staff were wonderful with him. They welcomed him and made him feel like he'd already been a patient of theirs for years. They handled his care very professionally, took the time to discuss his options and answer all of his questions. They worked with him to develop a treatment plan. They were so positive and encouraging. Tom left with a game plan for his dental care, a smile on his face, and a huge weight lifted from his shoulders. Dr. Tanner and his experienced staff have seen it all. If you have been putting off going to the dentist, if you're self-conscious about your teeth, or if you've never been to a dentist and are reluctant to take that first step, set up an appointment with Dr. Tanner. You will be glad you did! Original review: Are you looking for a patient, gentle dentist? You'll find one in Dr. Tanner. I went to see him for a crown replacement on a lower molar. Dentists typically cannot numb my lower jaw. As a result, I have had some pretty horrific experiences in the dental chair. I explained this to Dr. Tanner. He assured me he'd go slowly and would not work on me raw (which is what usually happens to me) and he was true to his word. He tried several different numbing techniques until he found one that worked. I'm the kind of patient who needs lots of information to feel comfortable and he took the time to answer all of my questions. My appointment was decidedly unrushed. Trouble numbing the lower jaw is not an uncommon dental problem. If you have this problem, give Dr. Tanner a chance. He's one of three dentists who've ever been able to numb me. I so dread an appointment with a new dentist that I hardly slept the night before but I left Precise Dental with a big smile on my face. There's a nice rapport between the staff in the office, lots of smiles and laughter and friendliness. It was clean and pleasantly decorated. My tongue has a mind of its own and Ashley, the dental assistant, is a tongue wrangler extraordinaire. If you don't have insurance, don't let that prevent you from getting dental care. I fall into the category of THE FEAR OF DENTISTS so making the decision to go here took a lot of effort. The only reason I went here is because I had met the dental assistant Ashley and thought she was funny. So I figured I would at least be entertained through the misery. Well I have to say that I was made to feel comfortable right away by Miss Ashley but I still had not met the dentist so was still hesitant. When I met Dr. Tanner I started to relax much to my amazement. I had broken a tooth and had ugly fake partial in (by another dentist) and was interested in something permanent but wasn't sure what my options were. Dr. Tanner patiently explained my options to me and did not rush me to make a decision. Because of their professionalism and genuine care about my fears I have decided to go back and have my work done with Dr. Tanner. If anyone out there is scared for whatever reason about going to the dentist I suggest going to Precise Dental. Dr. Tanner knows what he is doing and it shows in his caring and giving manner. His sidekick Ashley will keep you entertained (I promise) and make you feel right at home. Granted I did not have anything done YET but I will. Because of the way these 2 people made me feel I am not as scared as I was and no doubt Dr. Tanner will give me a reason to smile again. read more

The staff is excellent and so was the service/work! I'm one of those individuals that gets dentist/doctor anxiety to the point where I get extremely nervous and just cannot relax. I've had horrible experiences in the past with dentists, most of them where professional but none of them where personable and couldn't put me at ease. The staff at Precise has been a completely different experience. They where very professional as well as personable. Dr. Tanner took into consideration my anxious nature and made the exam thorough but quick, he didn't linger, he identified what my immediate dental needs where without pressuring me into additional work that wasn't necessary... I've never had that, I've always had dentists try to push me to do more "to make my smile beautiful." Dr. Tanner and the staff didn't make me feel self conscious about my dental imperfections, he just addressed the few things I needed to do to keep my mouth healthy. I REALLY appreciated that! The hygenist was as gentle as she could be and and I'm very happy with the cleaning she did. The staff at check in and check out where so nice. All around it was a great experience. I've made 2 more appointments with them to get the work I need done and to have my 6 month follow up. I'm very happy with them. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Tanner's for years and have nothing but wonderful praise for him and his staff! Everyone is always happy and glad to see you. They're relaxed, which has caused any trepidation I have ever had about going to the dentist completely disappear. He's gentle and, as the name says, PRECISE!! He doesn't rush anyone out and make sure you're happy with whatever work has been completed. I recently went in to have my front two teeth redone. When I was in high school I decided I didn't want a gap so I had it filled in. Well this has led to having to have the front teeth redone about every 7 years. It's a big deal and costly, so I wanted to whiten my other teeth before having this work done. I did and when the front teeth were redone the color didn't exactly match. They were kind enough to redo the work for me and actually went to a lot of trouble to get a different composite to match. I would recommend this dental practice to anyone for any sort of dental work. The hygienists are awesome, Ashley and Erin are fantastic, and Dr. Tanner is the best! read more

My dentist I've had since I was a kid recently retired. I hadn't heard great things about the staff that took over so I took to yelp to help me find a new dental office. My first appointment was last week and Julianna did my cleaning. She was very nice & informative. Jeremy was my dentist and he just checked in and was very pleasant. I was nervous since it's been years since I've gotten my teeth looked at since I've been putting off finding a new dentist, but fortunately nothing out of the ordinary and my teeth feel great. They used some different tools than what I was used to, but very modern and pain-free. The ladies who work with the insurance & scheduling were also EXTREMELY helpful!! They got all my paperwork sorted and got my records from my other office since I did not want to call. They went above and beyond to do that for me, so awesome!!! I'll be back in 6 months! read more

Very welcoming staff. I arrived early to my 8:00 am appointment and Ashley invited me in to the cool, pristine office before they were officially open. She efficiently and quickly set up her desk and computer and engaged in conversation with me as I waited to be escorted to a room. Erin helped me get settled in the chair and bibbed-up and had me sign disclosure form. Dr. Tanner arrived minutes later with a smile and assurance that he would have my broken filling fixed quickly. Within 10 minutes my tooth was whole again; no more sharp edges to cut my tongue. So fast, so painless. Check-out with Ashley was so quick. I am always amazed at her efficiency and her friendliness. Been to quite a few dental places in the past 26 years and I have always been unhappy with something. Precise dental is never late, always friendly, never over charges handles billing professionally and is a great place for the whole family. For the last seven years I have been coming in regularly and Dr Tanner has been great. He has good bedside manner he takes his time with us. His staff have been very helpful and friendly every time. The work I have had done here was only when Dr tanner felt that it was necessary, he has never recommended unnecessary work to our family unlike some other big companies we've been to in the past. I've been a patient at Precise Dental for about 10 months now & really like them. I had a cracked tooth that needed a crown. They not only got me in quickly but they had the best price after checking into several other Dental offices in my area. The whole office staff is very professional yet very friendly. Dr Tanner is great, answers all of my questions & makes me feel at ease. Ashley is always very helpful with everything including scheduling & charges. Tracy has cleaned my teeth several time now & is very thorough. Their entire staff makes going to the Dentist a pleasant experience. I purchased a Groupon for this office and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made! Dr. Tanner is an amazing listener and gets the patient. He was very informative and told me exactly what I needed. I needed a root canal but I could not afford it so I asked him to do a filling to hold me over while I finish school and obtain dental benefits. He did the filling, it's awesome...I have no pain which is the best part. I know I need a root canal but he saved my tooth from further damage and pain!!! I am so happy I found this dentist. Lifelong dental coward loves this office! Well it's true ... in the past I must confess to having burst into tears when the dentist just walked into the room. And I don't have to tell you that when you're that much of a baby, you don't go to the dentist like you should,,which just makes things worse. That said, it makes Jeremy and his fantastic staff all the better! I've had several visits and everything has gone smoothly (and pain free). The office atmosphere is very relaxing. so, i just had a appot. with a new member of the staff, rebecca. i'm a big chicken when it comes to the dentist but my visit with rebecca was very comfortable. she was a true pro and her skils with the needle were great which resulted in a painless procedure. like some people, i tend to neglect regular visits and as a result, i'm pretty sure she had her work cut out for her. unlike many in her position, she didn't lecture me or lay the big guilt trip on me. instead, she answered my questions and gave me some great tips. thanks again, 5 stars! read more

I have been going to this location for 3 years now. Dr. Tanner is down to earth and not overly anxious to drill, which is always a relief! He also did some dental work on my 9 year old, and was very patient and kind. Ashley, the receptionist is always helpful and more than willing to reschedule appointments, if needed, and actually calls when there's been a cancellation and can fit me in earlier! My favorite hygienist isn't there anymore, but Tracy has cleaned my teeth twice now; super sweet lady I have to move now, but I will miss PD! Sayonara! read more

I was hoping to get an appointment with you in the future and if all was well, then I would be happy to give a five star review. I am so grateful that I found Dr. Tanner and his staff. I moved to Vail and continue to drive into Dr. Tanner because I really don't think I could be as happy anywhere else. His office manager, Ashley, makes you feel like an old friend. When my insurance changed, I continued to go to Precise Dental. They have worked with me to make my dental procedures affordable, which I really appreciate. I have always HATED going to the dentist until I found Precise Dental. Dr Tanner and his entire staff are so friendly and put me at ease from the moment I walked in. They even figured out my insurance for me with no hassles. Office is spotless and professional. I've had a cleaning and a new crown here and both procedures were quick and painless.
