I'm writing to bring attention to an ongoing safety concern in the parking area at this H-E-B…read morelocation. People are frequently walking/squeezing between parked vehicles and the poles instead of using appropriate walking areas, putting themselves extremely close to customers' vehicles with not only their body but carts as well. On top of that, people are regularly sitting or standing in the white-striped access areas even though they are not loading, unloading, waiting for someone, or otherwise using the area for its intended purpose. This creates an uncomfortable and potentially unsafe situation for both drivers and pedestrians. Customers should not have to worry about someone brushing against, scratching, or damaging their vehicle simply because people are congregating or walking through areas that should remain clear. I understand that H-E-B cannot control every individual's behavior, but management can take reasonable steps to discourage it whether through signage, employee/security monitoring, or asking people not to sit or congregate in striped access areas. I'm asking management to please take this concern seriously before someone's vehicle is damaged or, more importantly, someone gets hurt. These areas should remain clear so customers can safely enter, exit, and maneuver around their vehicles.

It's way more "manageable" than bigger H-E-Bs, & while they might not have the obscure organics or artisanal offerings of a Central Market or other H-E-B's, this store is a hidden gem. The shelves are always stocked, the aisles are always clear, & the associates are always happy & quick to help. I pretty much know where everything is, but the few times I've wandered aimlessly looking for something, fellow shoppers -- mostly older & wiser -- have helped me find whatever it is I'm hunting down. I've always preferred small grocery stores to large ones, & I really have a soft spot for this one. Maybe because I grew up in the area, or maybe I just like how leisurely a shopping trip here is; I enjoy my time spent here, & I think it's a nice change of pace from the Walmarts & Targets of the world. A pro-tip: the H-E-B app is a great help for a store as condensed as this one (& any H-E-B in general). It tells you aisle by aisle if they have something you want in stock, so you can save time, gas, & energy if you need something in a pinch.

Both of the meats I decided on were extremely delicious in flavor and the beef was exceptionally tender. I got red and green salsa and it appears that the red salsa is a tad bit creamy, which is not something I've had many times before. It was unique and extremely tasty. As for the green salsa, I have yet to try, but I am sure it won't disappoint. I do want to give this place praise because I have passed it up before, but it is not a place to be looked over. There's so many other goodies in here that you won't find at a regular grocery store so it's definitely worth coming inside and checking out especially if you just want something to do. An amazing older local gal tugged a massive collection of catalogs out out for us and helped me find exactly what I wanted, arranged the delivery to the store, offered to help us prep the bouquets, etc. She helped me design them, too, suggesting that I'd appreciate some fronds and other filler that complemented the blooms so well. She special ordered exactly what we wanted, and we paid $100 for it all! Calm, beautiful desert and chaparral flowers. I had a second cousin who worked in the bridal industry for a bit help me wrap bouquets, fix boutonnieres, and arrange all the flowery bits. I'll never forget laughing with my bridal party as we wrapped those flowers the night before. :) My mom ended up deciding the night before that she wanted another $100 in flowers to fill the ceremony room, and found a truly insane quantity in the same flower department at Brookshire's! I wish I could post my wedding portraits here. The store is a bit small for my spoiled Austinite self, but the staff has so much TLC and a handy attitude. :)
