Came in looking for a retainer for a body piercing. Tattoo guys were plenty nice, but they didn't know what I was asking for. They called the piercer who had stepped out and he told them that he's not answering questions and I can make an appointment to ask him tomorrow. I typically work with Dan at Woodys, who is out for a well deserved vacation. That is where I'll stay, and I'd recommend you do the same. I understand the separation between work and time off, but it would have been faster to answer the question than to be a complete jerk to the tattoo artist that called. Woodys is 100' down San Francisco, and Dan is incredibly helpful. He deserves the business, and you deserve to deal with someone who actually cares about you as a customer. read more

I got my naval pierced here 2 years ago on friday the 13th.... and the piercing was completely botched. I didn't notice it until after a while, the piercing is literally pierced wrong. Of course the piercer (I believe Jason) marked where the piercing needle was going to go but I wasn't aware that this is going to be completely wrong. I waited hours that day to get my first naval piercing and it felt so rushed to get it done so he could go on with the next customer, like he didn't have the time or patience to get it right. Jason told me to get bactine to spray onto the piercing and get anti bacterial soap (Dial). Mind you this is super bad for the piercing. My skin developed a keloid overtime and would not heal. I went back to the shop couple days after because my jewelry was being rejected and going into the piercing hole. Basically Jason took so much skin and pierced it and the jewelry was too short that the ball of the jewlery was sinking into the piercing hole since it was super tight. Jason had to give me a custom bar, a longer one since he pierced so much skin. He also gave me iodine to put on but it semi helped. My jewelry was basically facing down, the top of it was facing down a lot. I talked to a couple piercing places in Phoenix and they said this was pierced wrong and pierced too deep in the naval. I saw another review and she stated he pierced hers wrong as well. 0/10 don't recommend. read more

I excused the fact that Jason gave really bad customer service because maybe he's just an unhappy Individual or maybe he was having a particularly sh:tty day but when I saw that the ring post was sticking conspicuously outside my nostril I had to tell ya'll about it. I asked for my money back but he refused and I wasn't about to let him fix it after he advised me to "just tuck it in". My advice to you is to take your $50 elsewhere. read more

Not a bad place for a cheap tattoo. We popped in at 2 PM right when they opened for a walk in, and got right in. I received two small horoscope tattoos and paid $40. A quarter sized tattoo with simple lines is only $25, which is the cheapest minimum in Flagstaff. Now, is it the friendliest, cleanest looking shop in town? Not really. But is it easy on the wallet if you want something small and easy, so you aren't paying a $60-100 minimum for a few lines? Absolutely! so my tattoo looked really good after David did it but the next day I noticed there was something wrong this was not my first tattoo I've had so I knew how it would be and the bandage started coming off so I took it off thinking maybe it just needs air. well no it continues to swell get worse I couldn't move or sit or walk or stretch without it making me feel so much pain. i didn't want to lower my stars because this is my first bad experience at sacred ground, and they have a nice and clean space with very talented artists but i do want to share the bad experience i had today. i paid $150 (plus tip) for a tattoo that i'm very disappointed with. the tattoo i got today was from sean/shawn (not sure how it's spelled) and it wasn't even close to what i asked for. i brought in a drawing that was exactly what i wanted but he chose to take a lot of artistic liberties. i said that i wanted a line drawing, but he said he was going to add shading (as he was already doing it so i felt that it was too late to stop him.) there was a blank area in my drawing that was going to have the tattoo i was covering up showing through and i specifically said i wanted to use the old tattoo to make a pattern in the new tattoo, but he decided to shade in the entire area so now i have a very dark tattoo that looks like an ugly black mark on my arm. all i'm thinking now is that it would have been better to leave the old tattoo than to try to figure out what i can do to fix this new, much bigger, and much darker tattoo. read more

Me and a few of my friends walked in, and let me tell you, I think we were there for nothing more than 4 minutes. They were literally tweaking on drugs. The guy was twitching and it smelt like burnt foil. I also asked who was gonna be doing my tattoo and one of the workers says "why does it matter?" And rolled his eyes. We all walked out and I strongly recommend NOT going here. Unless you don't mind your tattoo artist being on drugs. read more

I had my septum pierced here over a week ago. To start I paid $60 for the piercing and they gave me absolutely no jewelry afterwards just the 10 cent retainer. On top of it after further research I found out that the male piercer DID NOT pierce it in the correct spot. He also did not clean the Area before piercing it. The piercing is too far back and is now infected. The piercer also told me to use antibacterial hand soap but after further review you are not supposed to because it dries out the piercing. Go ANYWHERE else is Flagstaff or suffer the consequences. read more

I'd intended on going to Woody's, but their piercer wasn't in, so I kept walking to Sacred Ground. They were playing NPR Tiny Desk Concert on the TV, so I knew it was bound to be a good experience. Went here planning to get my ears pierced, neither of the people working were wearing masks or gloves and only two of the customers were wearing masks as they don't require them. Keep in mind that it's basically a basement and while they had two fans going there is still highly limited air flow, we hemmed and hawed about staying until we saw the employee (without a mask) walk right up to the customer to look at tattoo placement, that's when it became clear the employees weren't just massless while physically distanced but weren't concerned with wearing masks at all even when I'm close proximity. Might be fine as a piercer in normal times but if you are concerned about corona right now, you'll likely feel uncomfortable. read more

I called to see if they accepted walk-ins for tattoos. The man who answered the phone said they do and I let him know I'd be in shortly. I arrived in less than 10 minutes, rang the doorbell like the sign said, and nobody came. I called and nobody answered, rang again, called again, rang again. Not a good choice for beginners. I came here to get my ears pierced because I've always been told that getting them done in a tattoo shop is safer than somewhere like Claire's. Maybe that's true, but there were some major issues with my experience. There were some positives, so I'll start with those. The man who did my piercing, Jason, was very friendly and did a lot to calm my nerves, and from what I've seen online the price was very reasonable. The negatives, however, are more extensive. Immediately before I went into the room to have my ears pierced, Jason presented me with a choice of two different kinds of earring, simple bars with a bead on each end, and a ring with a bead in the middle, something I now know to be called a "captive bead ring." What I was not told is that removing or inserting a captive bead ring requires tools and as a consequence of that I chose them because they were 10 dollars cheaper than the alternative. After that my ears were pierced and I have no issues with that part of the experience. Afterwards however, was the time at which Jason explained caring for my new piercings. Instructions included things like washing my piercings with soap and using bactine to clean them. What was not communicated whatsoever was that I was not supposed to remove the earrings for cleaning. As a result, that night I spent about an hour attempting to remove the earrings before giving up and later looking up how to remove that sort of earring. I then spent many more minutes using makeshift tools to remove them, ultimately succeeding and proceeding to clean the piercings and the earrings. Afterwards I was unable to return the earrings to their place, forcing me to use different earrings I had that were possible to insert without tools. In the end I spent multiple hours in significant pain from agitated piercings due to this lack of clear communication. Of course, if I knew more about piercings going into this, this wouldn't have been an issue, but I didn't, I just wanted a nice simple ear piercing but got something much more complicated read more
