Their waiting room is like a cattle pen, and they kept me waiting two hours after my appointment time before turning me over to the operating room staff. The anesthesiologist would hardly talk to me, was totally unresponsive to my concerns, and flat out lied to me, saying he didn't determine the dosage since he "only does what the surgeon tells me to do". Another huge red flag is that all medical staff were briskly walking as fast as possible. The only way they could have moved faster was to run. This told me that the Center management team was pushing the staff to work as fast as humanly possible, and of course when people are rushed, the chance of mistakes goes up through the roof. This place is a malpractice lawsuit waiting to happen. I will never go back there again - and I cancelled the scheduled surgery there on the other eye - and found a different surgeon!

I was preparing to have my Mammogram and Ultrasound done. However, I was informed by my scheduler at Columbia Doctors that I needed my images from my last mammogram (2014) with Hackensack University Medical Center. Today, nothing has changed with the remarkable, caring, positive staffers, that give TLC as their standard. A professional body of heartwarming staff at Hackensack University Medical Center. I called and requested my images. They returned the call the next day, and my images and report were ready. I drove to NJ, got my ticket stamped for free parking from the Breast Cancer Screening Center. Dropped off my images to Columbia Doctors on West 51st Street in the heart of Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall (so cool). At the end of the movie, it was a joyous experience that made me feel truly gratefully happy and cared for by Hackensack University Medical Center and Columbia Doctors/NY Presbyterian Hospital. This was my first time and it was for a medical concern…read more This building is big and a bit confusing but the receptionists are all great and directed me to where my appointment was. I had an 8 am appointment and I was seen almost immediately after being checked in. The ultrasound technician who works with me was Rebecca - I believe. She was so incredibly patient with me and explained every step of the process. I was nervous and they made sure to ask me if I was okay, if I was comfortable and I really needed that that day! The facility was clean and the waiting room had coffee and tea for the patients who were waiting. There was also a tv, magazines and lockers to stow your belongings.

He has violent outbursts and tells my sister and I that he's in a prison and a lot of other horrible things. I will say this is a predominantly African American patient facility and my father is older and has asked if there were any other people he could have a room with that were like him, which we understood his meaning. Unfortunately there are not, and they put him in another room with a man who doesn't speak because he is dying. It's a sad place to be, and most people are very ill. We feel for our father but I have to say since I called to complain about a lot of things, they have made some serious effort in attempt to make our father happier. The problem is my father will never be happy again. He was an alcoholic for 60 years who is now sober and he has brain damage from a hemorrhage about 8 months ago and it's only made matters worse for him and my sister. I don't wish anyone to go through this with their parents, because it's taking a massive toll on my sister's health back home. I'm in California and the calls I get have been crazy, and not very accurate. After coming to realize and talk with several helpful and very polite staff members, that what I was being told months ago wasn't altogether accurate. This is a facility where you come to rely on because you have Medicare and Medicaid. They helped our father get Medicaid, too. We don't have private health insurance, and this is one of the few places that take in patients with limited financial resources. We spend a lot on his other needs, like the diapers he likes, razors he wants, Fixodent, mouthwash, food he loves, and taking him out once in a while which adds up. But it's a facility that does their best with the budget they have and the people are actually very nice.

I simply called to verify that the order had been received before making the trip to the laboratory. Instead of receiving a straightforward answer, I was met with a patronizing response: "Listen, I know you work here, but..." Whether I work for the hospital or not is irrelevant. As a patient, I was calling with a legitimate question and expected to be treated with the same courtesy, professionalism, and respect afforded to every other patient. A simple confirmation of whether the order had been received would have been sufficient. I hope this feedback is taken constructively so that future interactions reflect the level of professionalism patients should expect from the laboratory staff. Here we go again and this is the reason why Holy Name Hospital has such a low rating!…read more Back in August 2025 my son responded there after being in a motor vehicle accident and bumping his head just to get checked out to make sure he was fully OK The waiting area for the emergency trauma section was not terribly busy but he had waited nearly an hour to be seen. After being brought into the nurses station area they took his pulse and his blood pressure and were taking his temperature when the nurse walked away and did not come back for over 15 minutes with the thermometer in his mouth. When she did she went to do something else from what he says and didn't respond back to him for nearly 20 minutes at which time he got up and left because in his terms it was unreasonable to be treated in that manner especially after hitting his head and something could've been seriously wrong with him. After a month and a half we received a notice from the hospital billing that they were not paid for a $600 bill so at that time we submitted the bill to our insurance company GEICO and we began to have issues because Holy Name refused to submit the appropriate bill with itemized services so that GEICO could appropriately pay the bill. This went on two more times with the HOSPITAL refusing to submit the proper bill. In early December 2025 for the second time I contacted my auto insurance company GEICO who took holy names phone number in personally contacted them and my adjuster Joelle assured me that the bill would get paid because she had spoken to holy name. Fast-forward to April seventh 2026 and now my son is getting bills from a legal team collections stating that holy name was never paid and they are collecting for them well you have to contacting GEICO they advise me that after two person the person called phone calls the hospital still has not submitted an itemized bill for them to pay otherwise they would've paid it promptly. The insurance company explained to me that many times these bills are created in fraud and need to be verified and sent with the proper treatments with their codes so that the insurance company can pay them and holy name has been refusing so far to comply with the normal standards yet they're doing everything to avoid paying the bill in the appropriate manner meanwhile screwing my sons credit record up.
