Great course took Daughter, son and Nephew here. Played 9. Everything was green and the staff was very helpful and cart lady was attentive!

We recently played at Saddle Rock Golf Course and had mixed feelings about the experience. The staff was outstanding -- everyone we interacted with was super nice and welcoming. The food was also good and came out quickly, which was appreciated before the round. Unfortunately, the course conditions didn't match the price point. The fairways were just okay, but the greens were in pretty bad shape. For what you pay, you'd expect better overall maintenance and amenities like ball washers, more trash cans, and clearer signage around the course. The driving range was actually in great shape, but the putting green definitely was not. Overall, while the customer service was excellent, the course itself just didn't feel worth the money. read more

Horribly rude pro-shop employee. We tried to rent a golf cart and seemed offended we would even ask, then we played the course and it was dry and patchy and we couldn't even tell the difference between the fairway and rough. Tried notifying pro-shop of poor quality and was met with the same attitude and snappiness and was told it was due to water restrictions. Okay excuse I guess? Except I work at a course, and we are under the same water restrictions, and our course remains in much better condition than this patch of dirt. I said it was the worst course I'd ever been to, to which the old geezer (same one who got mad at us for having the audacity to try to rent a golf cart at a golf course) working the pro-shop rudely snapped "then don't come back." I will not be returning my business there. read more

The course is in awful condition. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt with the drought but some of the landscaping seemed to be poorly done and nothing to do with the drought. The greens are covered with dead patches and some of the tee boxes are only dirt. I've played dozens of other courses so far this summer and this was by far the worst course I've played. The course is fine however I had a tee time at 950 and was at the range and the starter sent the 2 guys in my group that were already there at 940, I got to the starter at 944 and didn't even get to tee off. He was also extremely rude and told me I need to figure it out with my group. I did not appreciate that when I'm paying 100 dollars for a city course and I was there before my tee time. We are in winter of 2024 & this city course charging $75.00 on a weekend with out cart fee to play 18 was a bit absurd. When snow is still on parts of the course, frozen tee box and greens should t be paying summer spring cost and was a bit over priced for winter. Would recommend reconsider playing here on sunny winter days. read more

After hole number 6, which is a horribly designed hole (IMHO), the ranger told us to pick up the pace. Mind you, we had waited on EVERY tee prior, & we were about a 1/2 hole behind. When we finished, the group behind was at least 2 holes back!!! Staff is old & out of touch. ‍ Went to Apple Pay, & he said "we don't have it." Bought a hat the day before there using Apple Pay, & paid using it at Meadow Hills. Clean House!!! read more

It's a horrible facility ran by retirement folks that need something to do during the day. They also double as the HOA in the area, so you can understand the amount of control they want in their little retirement townhouses. It's all they have. read more

Practice facility is really nice and generally the course is in good shape. Pace of play is horrible. Starter rushes you to the first tee so you can wait. 4some front 9 and twosome 2nd 9. Back 9 took 2.5 hours as a twosome late on a Thursday. Completely ineffective rangers enforcing pace of play which is to be expected with Muni-type course. Greens were unplayable because of the combination of pin positions, green design, and the inconsistency of speeds. If I had to guess, somewhere between 5-9 on the stimp. They look nice and that's about it. Seriously, greenside bunkers with dirt and fairway bunkers with sand? Honestly, it's a poor value for the quality of course. I'll continue to practice there but I won't play again. I can only imagine the frustration of playing on a weekend. read more

Utterly disappointed with the service at this golf course. I probably played this golf course at least a dozen times. At its current state of management or service I have serious problems on how they treat their customers. I was playing 18 and my friend was playing 9 holes. He had 20 minutes extra until picking up his daughter, so he came with me for an extra hole. On the 10th hole a ranger showed up and told him he couldn't play. He was a little embarrassed for the misunderstanding, so I brought him back to the car. The ranger proceeded to come back to us to speak a 2nd time. ( why? To Reinforce he couldn't play? He was already going to his car.) After dropping him off I need up at 10 hole. The ranger came around again! It started raining, and I went inside to get a raincheck. The starter questioned how many holes I played, and seemed hesitate I should get a rain check. He then asked me about my buddy if he played insinuating something, but I ask is it necessary to bring it up again!? The same misunderstanding was brought up several different times and occasions. I know you work at the course, but let's be real. In the end, I don't think they questioned how their behavior made my friend feel. My friend was completely embarrassed, but I don't think he deserved to look and feel so bad. In addition, The golf course was completely open and noone was out there. We we're one of a few paying customers on a Tuesday. I question they approach to their service. read more

This is a driving range review only. I live near Saddle Rock and since I recently decided to take up golf, this is my go-to driving range. The range itself is nothing spectacular, but fairly big and does the job. It did seem that the greens around it were a bit beat up, but its a driving range it comes with the territory. You get views of houses in the distance and a road behind you, but it is tucked away enough that it a good spot to focus. Plus the prices are not bad, $4 a token will you get 35 balls, so under $10 you can go crazy. I did notice that there are a lot of people who seem to just come up and hit a couple balls and leave. So it is hard to gauge how busy it is at any given time. Not to mention there were a lot of kids hitting balls on the range, which is fine, but you have to watch out! Still, it is a-ok. Other notes: Decent golf shop inside the clubhouse and bar/grill seemed a bit nicer than others I have seen at other courses, so that is plus! Oh and decent parking too, you might have to get a spot around back, but there is plenty of it! read more

One of the most well kept courses here in Colorado. Some of my retired neighbors work there because they can't get enough. The course is always kept beautifully maintained all year long with a long river flowing through it and large beautiful cottonwood trees. I love waking up to it every morning when I'm home. I was actually considering putting up a live video. I witness the funniest things when people drink to much and the stupid ones who drive on the mini hills during the thunder storms. Cons: There's lots of wildlife and the animals can get very confused in the evenings. Pros: Special Needs friendly! read more

Excellent golf course, two different nine hole tracts. The front is the highest point in the course with wide open fairways and little around ecxept houses and great views of the mountains. It is a bit of walk as the first few holes climb to the high point overlooking the entire area. Holes, fairways and greens are well layed out, so it is not boring with the same look on every hole. Greens are challanging but fair. Views of the Rocky Mountains are stunning and you can see all the way to Pikes Peak. The back nine is down amongst the houses and there is vegatation and many environmental sensative areas. Again, the holes, fairways and green as well layed out and you wind you way around the track rather than going up one hole then back down the same way. The course is not difficult although the day I played the wind was blowing briskly and it always seemed to be blowing either in your face or a cross wind. Funny how the wind never seems to help you on a golf course. Nice clubhouse, friendly staff and good practive facility. I will definately go back to this one again and again. read more

This was my first time playing at Saddle Rock, and it was pretty frustrating. We tee'd off about 6:45am, no one in front of us and no one behind us. We had 2 different marshals approach us 5-6 times asking us why we were playing so slow. We're not the greatest golfers, I believe we all shot in the mid 80's that day. One of the marshals asked me, if there was a reason why we were playing so slow. I was shocked at his question...I asked him if we were holding anyone up behind us and he replied no. It was a terrible display of customer service...for a course of this caliber I would expect a greater show of appreciation for customers willing to pay $60-$70 at a public course. Probably will not go back... With that said, the course was in beautiful shape, it was challenging and fun, the views of the mountains and the city were a plus...if they would calm their marshals down it would of been a prefect day of golf. read more

I was impressed. Really solid place. Course is very challenging and in good condition. Some nice elevation changes and good views of the mountains out here. I wouldn't recommend walking it. Decided to do that over ride on a 100 degree July afternoon and lost about half of my body-weight. Lot of gaps between holes and a few road-crossings as well. Friendly and helpful staff though. Had no problems there. I'll return here without a doubt. P.S Not the best course to play if you're afraid of snakes. read more

I played this course for the first time recently and was not pleased. I was rushed from the first hole by a very rude employee. I was shocked at how they treat people here considering how much I paid for the tee time. I haven't actually golfed here, but I've been to the clubhouse and the driving range. It's an open course, which is nice. You have to go up to the club house and buy tokens ($4 for 35 balls) to go to the range. It always looks busy but there's tons of space to go hit balls. It's nice and quiet here, tucked between the road and some nice houses. If I knew how to really golf, this would definitely be the top of my list! read more

For a public course this is a 5 star course all of the way. The pro shop is super friendly and the course well taken care of. This is a challenging course with a lot of native grass. However, the views are spectacular and the ground crew keeps the fairways and greens much better then most private courses I've played. They have a nice chipping, putting, range area where you actually hit off of grass, not turf. If you hit balls in random directions come prepared and bring a ton of extra balls. Other than that it's a great challenging course. read more

Great course layout! Lots of elevation changes and challenging tee shots. I had never played this course and got paired up with a couple who hadn't either. This was definitely a disadvantage as there are many blind shots. Course knowledge would have shaved off a few strokes fa sho. The greens had just been punched and they were slow so that is why I gave it 4 stars. Otherwise, it was a great course especially for $35 during twilight! read more

Fun, fast and tough green complexes. Par 3's are no joke. Holes 10 & 11 are a bit squirrelly.

Its been confirmed. This is my third time I ate a Bratwurst from Saddle Rock GC restaurant and got sick all three times. Be afraid...be very afraid of the Bratwurst. I dont think they maintain the kitchen properly. Maybe the Health Inspector needs to make a visit more often. Other than their food, I give Saddle Rock GC Four Stars. They maintain the courses fairly well. I like the course there. read more

I've played golf for 18 years across the country and have never been mistreated by an employee. The starter was so rude and unprofessional, it blew mind! I'm still appalled at the interaction I had with him! That is not how you treat guests. Thanks to Rich, I will never play at Saddle Rock again. read more

Good course. The front 9 slowly works its way up hill through the first 4 holes what goes up comes down really fast. The last 3 holes are down hill coming into the club house. The back nine goes across the street and winds through some homes. Course is above average nothing crazy. If I'm choosing an aurora course this is probably my second choice read more

It was a great course. It was pretty difficult as well. The greens and fairways were in amazing shape. The maintenance crew was rude though. Every tee box they were in the middle of the fairway and wouldn't stop mowing. Also the price is pretty high for what you get. I'm giving it a 4 but would give it a 3.5 if I had the option. read more

I was here a couple weeks ago for a golf tournament, and this course is awesome! Before you read further, I am around an 18 handicap and shoot in the mid to high 80's at an average course, and low to mid 90's at a tougher course. Granted, I did not have to pay normal greens fees since we were playing in a best-ball tournament, but it's right around $40 for a round to walk. For the quality of the course, I would be willing to come back for this price. I will say that there are some pretty good climbs and distance between certain holes (crossing the road on a few) so if you don't usually walk, I would suggest getting a cart. The range doesn't look like much when you are approaching it, but it is very large and well-marked with yardage signs. The layout of the course is great, with challenging, long holes even from the white (middle) tees. Just to give you an idea, on one of the par 5's a teammate drove it nearly 360 yards (downhill all the way) and we were still sitting around 230-240 into the green. Also, you definitely have to be able to control your ball off the tee, because you will not find it if you hit through the rough. With that being said, there are a few shorter holes (300-350 yards) that will give you a couple of options leading up. You can try and drive it close for an easy pitch, or play it short and leave yourself an easy wedge into the green. Speaking of greens, they are TOUGH. Our team couldn't seem to make many putts that were over 15 feet. You definitely want to be conscious of the green before hitting your approach shot because the greens have a lot of break to them. For us it seemed really easy to 2-putt because we'd get the speed down, but the ball would always seem to end up just a bit above or below the hole, even after reading each other's putts. The staff was really accommodating for us as a group and the food that we had for lunch was great! Our group wound up winning so we had some gift cards to the pro shop. They had 30% off of all apparel and 20% off of shoes, and some really good brands. Obviously not a huge selection, but pretty good prices. I picked up a Titleist glove and some Footjoy shoes for around $110. Overall, I was really happy that I got to play in the tournament we held at this course. You only get one chance at a first impression, and this course left a great one on me. I plan on being back again this summer! read more

My wife and I have been coming here for about two years for breakfast on the weekends. Used to be five stars. Something is definitely going on because of the Covid. The menu has been totally changed and not for the better. They removed both the Denver omelette and the Saddle Rock griddle from the breakfast menu. I don't think I've ever been to a breakfast restaurant they didn't have omelettes on the menu. Saddle Rock Griddle was a unique item. Essentially, eggs on a bed of hashbrowns with green chili, peppers and onions, and you could get it either with bacon sausage or chorizo. Easily the best thing on the breakfast menu. Why somebody would remove the best item on the menu is unfathomable. Finally they have significantly raised prices. For example the French toast is nine dollars ($8.95) I'm not sure how you justify charging nine dollars for three pieces of bread. If it's about the Covid, I get that. The owner probably should just step up and say that there is a Covid charge on food right now and ask for support. I think everybody would get that, and frankly support the establishment. I would prefer this to trying to hide the price increase. I also regularly eat at Doug's diner which is another local breakfast place. Their prices are up a little bit but nothing like this. Overall would be five stars if the menu had not been changed, and there was some explanation about the high prices. I will say the wait staff is always very friendly and accommodating. read more

I played Saddle Rock for the first time recently. I think the weekend greens fees are a bit steep, but it isn't so bad if you walk. The problem is that you'd have to do a lot of difficult walking, particularly on the front nine. I don't see this course as particularly walkable for many. I paid $80 getting two range ball tokens, cart, and greens fee for a Sunday. It's a bit more expensive than I think it's worth, particularly since homes surround the course. I guess fees are relative, as you'd be paying $40 to walk Denver courses that aren't as interesting. There are a few areas of the course where homes aren't close, but aesthetically it's taken down a notch because of all the homes. The course conditions were certainly excellent and I found the staff to be friendly and reasonable. One thing I don't understand about this and other courses is they book parties together in a foursome who aren't playing the same amount of holes. I was placed with three who were playing nine, and I was playing 18. I'm happy to play as a single, but it is strange on a weekend to allow for this. I did have fun taking some extra shots so I didn't run into the next groups too soon! In general I don't see myself coming back anytime soon the weekend at least. I prefer Murphy Creek to Saddle Rock when it comes to Aurora courses. I think the former is nice because at least the front nine is away from any homes (for the time being, anyway). One cool thing about Saddle Rock, to give them credit, is that they have done a good job preserving areas for wildlife. A downside is I saw two dead animals--one a bunny and another was unrecognizable. So you still feel you are in nature playing parts of this course! I hope you find some birdies! read more

First (and last) time playing here today. First off, I know it's April and I should expect early season golf course conditions...But I would also expect some discounted rates. We paid $70 per person to play today. This course was in TERRIBLE shape. Every fairway was half grass, half dead spots. The tee boxes were so chopped and filled with divots that it was impossible to try to find a decent place to place your ball. The golf carts don't have GPS (I mean, come on, for $70 per person, you can't get GPS?!), and there are only porta potties out on the course for bathroom options. Again... for $70, I have to use a porta potty? The pace was fairly slow, even though we saw a marshal about 7 times during our round. There were some decent mountain views on a few holes, but for the most part, you are staring at people's houses and yards the whole time. There are plenty of other courses in the area that are cheaper, better maintained, and with better amenities. read more

I live very close to this course and thoroughly enjoy it. The course is usually in great shape and has some very long and challenging holes. I cannot tell you how important it is to keep your ball on the fairway here -- the rough is THICK in certain spots. Some of the greens can be quite tricky as well (hole 17 in particular has a wicked green). The course is walkable, but i would recommend that you have some decent level of physical fitness as the course is quite hilly and there is very little shade from the sun on a hot day. The staff is generally very helpful and accommodating when needed. I've never been to the patio/grill inside the clubhouse so I can't really comment on that. Overall, I highly recommend if you're looking a fun afternoon on the course! read more
