My husband fell in love with the course and the pool off to the left of the club house looked super clean and fun! We wound up having lunch in the club house and it DID NOT disappoint. In fact, my husband, who is the pickiest eater EVER, rated his burger and fries a 10/10!!!! That's absolutely UNHEARD OF! As for my food, it was probably a 9/10 (I got the salmon salad and crispy wings). The only reason why it wasn't a 10/10 is because the salmon on the salad was pretty tiny! Over all, great experience though... And we definitely hope to be back!

It's also completely not intimidating here and has the laid back vibe that is 0% country club uppity vibes.

We arrived at The Club at Inverness and headed outside to Breckenridge Brewery's beer garden. The lovely views included manicured greens, fountains, and a pond. It was the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy a delicious meal. The menu boasted an array of options, from classic pub fare to local beers. The Palisade Peach Wheat was made with peaches from Palisade Colorado - it was a fruit-forward unfiltered American-style wheat ale bursting with bright and juicy peach flavor. The Juice Drop IPA had a distinct coconut-like characteristic. There were tropical hop layers without bitterness due to the experimental hop known as HBC 472. The Pub Burger was made with American cheese, shredded lettuce, pickle tomato, onion, house sauce, & a side of coleslaw. The burger was great & had a nice juicy patty. The Reuben was made with sliced pastrami, rye bread, Dijon, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, & thousand island dressing. The pastrami delivered a smoky & spicy flavor with a slightly sweet undertone. The sandwich had a satisfyingly crunchy texture from the rye bread and sauerkraut. Following our lunch, we walked over to The Club to golf. Tee times are open to hotel guests and members only. The Club offers social memberships for Colorado residents, which include several perks such as food and beverage discounts, pro shop deals, guest passes, and more. The Golf Marshalls Don & Smokey were wonderful and made sure we were comfortable with the course and had everything we needed to play. Designed by legendary architect J. Press Maxwell, Inverness Golf Course is a true gem. The course is a strategic thinker's paradise, with subtle slopes, rolling fairways, and menacing bunkers that demand careful shot placement. Even on a very hot day in August, the challenge was irresistible, and we had a great time. As guests at Inverness, we got a taste of the lifestyle offered to members!

They upped dated the spa area, the restaurant, the outdoor patio, the pool area, the gardens and I believe the hotel lobby and hotel rooms. They have many different event venues. A couple of restaurants, a couple bars and a huge dining room. Breckenridge brewery is now in the downstairs area, if I have to write a review for that one, I'd just give them a 3 to 4. It is so loud! I know they're restocking and trying to get everything ready but they make mostly IPA's, I detest. I do you like a lighter beer. Both times I've ordered like appears they were out, so what does that tell you, maybe they need to brew some more beers that people would like? Well back to the location itself. The golf course is immaculate, the people that work there are great, instructors are informative. It would be a great place for an event, especially a wedding. This is a great, relatively short par 3 nine hole course. I knew it was in there. I have driven…read morepassed the road to get to it 100+ times. Never tried it - until this morning. My kiddo just turned six and has been golfing for years now. I decided it was time to let him play a 'real adult course' after playing exclusively the First Tee par 3 courses around town. So first things first - the pro shop is out back of the building and a tiny bit tricky to locate the first time around. There's a bag drop out front, but doesn't need to be there. Just take your clubs straight back. The staff member who checked us in was very friendly. There is a discount for Junior golfers, but no such deal for veterans. All in all it was $25 to play (total for two of us) and we were able to tee off on time. The course is is great condition, and it is clear that they have a staff that cares about presentation and course management. The winding lake in the middle only brings water into play on a couple of the holes. The rest are pretty straight shots, and nothing is out of reach for most golfers. I think the longest was just short of 200 yards. We had a great day, and even though we had to wait at a number of tee boxes, the whole round only took aboutj 90 minutes. There is a very fun looking restaurant right as you step off the ninth green that we definitely want to try at some point, but it was a work day, so raincheck on that one. All in all, great experience.

Let's talk about it! ++ For the PGA Tour event, they laid out the course map as a ski hill. At first, it didn't make sense to me. Then, as we began our trudge upwards, I realized it was almost a play on the elevation gain/lost over the course. Oof! It was something. The other couple we were with struggled a bit with the steepness. I can only imagine how tough it was for some ++ Honestly, the other spectators were super polite and kind. Being my first golf-spectating experience, I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was surprised with the level of courtesy. ++ You can tell that the grounds crew was nursing this course for a while, it was PRISTINE! The fairways were plush, the greens appeared smooth, and the additional features were just beautiful. ++ The box marshals were really kind and informative! I enjoyed the conversations we had about the course, improvements that were done, and the personal favorite holes. All in all, my experience at Castle Pine Golf Club was solid. While I'm not a strong enough golfer to play here, and my wallet is grateful to not be a member, it was fun to specialty experience!

First, I would say the course is really a challenging course, and a large part of that is due to the greens. It seems cliche to say that greens at a course are fast, yet, here it really rings true, so much so that you need to keep that in mind when you hit an approach shot. They are very true though, and once I got the speed, I putted really well. The course layout is also really nice, and very fair, with a good amount of landing room on most holes. The other pluses of the course were: Great beverage cart service. Well kept course overall Friendly staff The two complaints I have: The eighth hole from the blue/black tees is probably the worst hole I've ever played. It's a short par 4 that turns hard to the right, and the problem is that it is a completely blind tee shot over a native grass area. The only thing you can see is the top of the 150 yard marker. This would be fine if the hole was pretty open, but it's not. It's probably the smallest landing area on the course, especially considering the hard turn to the right. It's really easy to hit through the fairway and end up in a bad situation. The staff in the pro shop insist that the course is walkable, and that is just silly. There is so much distance in between holes that I ended up hopping on the back of the cart for the guys I was playing with about 8 or 9 times. I'm not saying that the walk is not possible. It is, but not if you have any hopes of maintaining pace of play. Hit 'em straight, or maybe with a slight draw.
