Loved my visit to Sadie's! Fantastic selection of good used condition (&some new) clothing sizes s-xxl - mostly women's (Tory Burch, Johnny Was, Spanx, luluemon, Chico's, Soft Surroundings, Athleta &+++) but a small area for men. Also shoes, sneakers and a nice selection of bags. Some amazing (although not cheap absolutely well priced) new with tags Brahmin leather bags. Oh yeah, women's costume jewelry too! All this plus a large area of mostly vintage but some antique and some new furniture, china, collectibles and gifts. Service was kind and helpful in all the best ways! I waited a few days before writing the review because I want to completely stick to the facts and not give an emotional review. On my first official visit, where I introduced myself, there were indicators that this was not the correct situation for me but I continued with the process. With a closet full of clothes that no longer fit due to weight loss, I thought for the first time in my life I may look into a consignment opportunity. When the first conversation included, "We do not take items from Walmart, Targets, or Kohls," I should have known that this was not the shop nor the opportunity that I needed to pursue. It was during this visit that I heard for the first time that I could donate my clothes (this was stated sight unseen). I was confused because I didn't know Sadie's was also a donation center. But after making an appointment to bring in summer clothes I went through my closet for items that had already come back from the dry cleaners. The majority of the items consisted of my summer work clothes of cotton and linen blends. Much of it was pants, cropped pants, blouses, and matching light jackets (I no longer wear shorts). After yelling my name across the store, Sadie's informed me they would "pass" on the items (which I was totally fine with since I was leaning towards donating the clothes to a women's shelter for those trying to get back into the job market). After the "pass" conversation the offer to donate my clothes was offered for the 2nd time. I "passed" on their donation offer. When I brought the clothes in they were meticulously arranged on hangers and hanging in my car. An awesome young man and Sadie's representative helped me bring the items into the store. When we had come to a mutual conversation that neither of us wanted to continue any transaction the young man, myself, and a Sadie's representative took my clothes back out to the car. As we were leaving the store, another volunteer mouthed, "I'm sorry." I opened the back doors of my car so the clothes could be returned in the same state as when I arrived. I was shocked when the representative tossed the clothes into the back seat of my car. The young man clearly saw my shock and asked me if he could rehang them. The representative said, "Yes, rehang them for her," as she proceeded to return to the store. I appreciated his offer but after he struggled to untangle the mess I sent him back into the store. I sorted and rehung the clothes so they would be in good condition for a donation. I am not at all upset over the fact they passed but the reason stated was, "Your clothes are too old." As the clothes were being loaded back into the car I made a few comments about clothes that I just purchased less than 6 months ago and some jackets that were still in the stores. It was than stated, "Maybe I was hasty in saying they were old." As the lined linen pants and matching jacket were loaded she stated, "There were a few items we could have used but I just don't think we can do anything for you here." I would absolutely agree with that statement. It came out she didn't want the pants. I was alright in taking my cropped Chico and department store purchased pants, jackets, and blouses to another location. I had asked many friends and co-workers about local consignment stores and not one referred me to Sadie's and now I know why. Although we mutually decided not to continue business there are some basic rules for people who work with the public. In conjunction with the rude behavior I never once found merchandise that I wanted to purchase and would not consider this to be upscale. I only choose Sadie's because I live in a community close by and wanted to try and use a local business. I have expressed my frustration with others about my visit only to find out others have had similar experiences with quick recommendations to many resale stores nearby in Fort Worth and Keller. read more

I hesitate to write this review based on my sole experience with them, but I know that I more than likely won't be returning. As odd as it sounds, I would describe our experience as lukewarm. While we were walking back to our car I mentioned to my husband that I didn't feel welcome there at all. When we walked in we were greeted immediately, but after that it was almost like we weren't there. I don't expect store employees to follow me around and hold my hand while waiting on me. It was just a strange vibe. I think we had a weird run-in with a Meals on Wheels employee from the adjoining office. We think it was an employee, at least. She practically ran into us while we were browsing, but she didn't acknowledge us at all. My husband even said, "Hi, how are you?" and she ignored us completely. It was just odd. As far as their stock, they had furniture, clothing, jewelry, and some shoes. The only thing I found that I was interested in by way of style and price was a top that I didn't end up buying. I waited an extremely long amount of time to ask for a dressing room while an employee rang up another customer. Didn't so much as glance at me, even when she was done. I ended up just walking over and checking the doors myself - kind of felt stupid after that because the first door was unlocked. I just assumed that they'd have be unlocked. It was just weird to not be acknowledged as a guest in their store for that long. I feel kind of uncomfortable even leaving a review like this but I honestly walked away with an odd feeling. I'm sure I'm coming across as petulant, but I swear I'm not, lol. Maybe I'll go back - I don't know. It's a shame because I always love shopping at consignment stores. I've found plenty of nice clothes, jewelry, and house décor at consignment stores in the past. read more

I recently lost a bunch of weight and needed to redo my wardrobe, retail would cost too much and resale could take me much farther. With that said I walked into Sadie's, was greeted immediately and shown where the men's section was located. The prices are fantastically low, and I have purchased Nieman Marcus brands for only $5. What a deal! Furniture, jewelry, and all kinds of home furnishings you can find. 90% of it is women's clothes but the men's section has just enough to pick out a few items. The ladies and volunteers are always nice, And it's fun to seek out cool treasures in this place. I try to visit once a week or so, cause there is always new inventory to sift through. Bring your old clothes and donate them, or bring your nicer clothes and sell on consignment. Make sure you stop at this little GEM in Roanoke. read more

I have consigned furniture at Sadie's as well as purchased items. My consignment experience was great. Don't try to consign fake wood or IKEA furniture items at this store as they are top quality only. They sold my dining table set in a matter of days for an amount Way higher then I expected! It's a 50/50 split and they give you a tax deductible receipt for the amount of money you split with them from your sale. Sadie's receives designer fabric donations from a high end retailer in Fort Worth. I have purchased yards and yards of designer fabrics for curtains at $3/yard! With some of the tags still on the bolts I could see the retail prices were in the $50/yard range. This is not fabric from JoAnnes but high quality and you can be sure to not get defects in your yardage. The girls are very generous with measuring too! Now, if I just had a sewing fairy to finish all of my projects! With what I paid for fabric it's guilt free! This is a great store that uses the profit for the Meals-On-Wheels project. They now even have a rewards program! Great little store. read more

I do not recommend this consignment store at all. I stopped there today and will never be back. I was given a receipt with just the total cost on it. I asked for an itemized receipt because the total cost did not seem to be adding up correctly. I was not given one. The clerk had it in her hand and threw it away. I regretted my purchase almost immediately because I felt I had been overcharged. I asked to return the item and was told that all sales are final. I was told that the policy was on the receipt. I showed the clerk the receipt I was given and no policy was on it. She then printed another itemized receipt and handed it to me stating that the policy would not change. She stated that this was standard policy for all consignment stores. I went to another consignment store later that day and was told they had a 14 day return policy. Unless you just want to donate your money to the charity they support, I would not waste your time at this shop. read more

I am constantly complimented on my clothing and I always tell them that there is this gem of a store in Roanoke that they have to check out! Love, Love, Love this store. What a fun store!!! The quality selections of furniture, clothing, and home accessories change weekly, so every week is a new shopping experience. The store is very clean and organized, and feels like your in a beautiful living room. The staff are so helpful and friendly, and will even help load your car of purchased items. Besides the profits of the store going to feed senior citizens, they also embrace adults who need community service. Very Christian oriented store (Christian music in the background), with a lot of variety of home furnishings and fabric too (only $3/yrd.!!). I have been many times, and purchased several things for my home and holiday accessories. This is my new favorite shopping experience!! read more
