Went in during promotion- they made sure I received my discounts, and quickly accommodated when I needed a larger unit. Worst storage facility in the bay area! Management favorites certain people and harasses others. My girlfriend was using the bathroom and while she was in there a customer just opens door because the staff gave him a key! To a locked bathroom! They should be investigated cause they are definitely doing shady business there. The other reviews on here were obviously fake because the people mentioned are terrible. George harasses people and the manager is a liar. Avoid these people at all costs. Since they do nothing all day they spend the rest of their time harassing people and trying to make extra $ by charging up to $75 extra a month for reasons that aren't legit. read more

The process to get a storage unit was simple there was fees that I wasn't aware of for first day but, there cheaper than most Hayward Storage units. George helped me with my free 30 min move it which made everything get done faster. We found this place through an online search engine. The staff was really nice to work with. They made sure to explain everything to us. They made us feel at home! They had a cute little coffee machine for customers and very clean restroom facilities. The price for a 10 x 10 was pretty competitive for the area. The facility is very secure and a pass code is required to get in and out of the facility. In addition, there are lots of cameras. We are happy with our unit S - 7197! read more

Amanda and Leroy were super stars. I called in the morning and spoke with Amanda. she was very professional and knowledgeable. I told her I would be in later on that afternoon. When we arrived, she was very thorough in explaining everything ( storage unit, paperwork and truck) to my husband. She was very detail oriented and kept assuring us that the process would not take long. While we were there, she was multitasking with answering phones and also assisting walking customers. She then called Leroy to drive us to the unit. Leroy was very friendly and engaging and you could tell he likes his job and takes pride in the facility cleanliness. After showing us the unit, he drove us back so that we could finish the paperwork. When we were done with the paperwork, we began walking to the unit to put the lock on. The unit was a bit of a walk. Suddenly, Leroy came to us, and said that he would not allow us to walk such a distance, and for us to hop on in. The customer service experience in both employees was exceptional. I highly recommend, and I hope these employees receive acknowledgment and kudos from the facility. read more

I had a question about the website and he told me that he could not help me because he had customers. He did not offer to call back or assist me in a different way. This is my first storage unit and I had many questions to figure out how it works. Gina was friendly over the phone and in person. She answered all my questions and concerns and called me back when I left messages. On the day of, Roberto helped us move things in. If you schedule ahead, you can get lifting/moving help for free for 30 minutes. I'd never say no to an additional set of hands. Great place. I'm giving this storage space a 3-star rating for a few reasons. 1 star for having a very nice and neat space. Inside and outside look clear of any trash, debris even foliage every time i visit. 1 star for prices. It was one of the cheaper locations we found after doing some research around the area. 1 star for your first free rental truck. The places they lack which could have given them a 5 star are customer service and misleading advertisements and promotions. The first day we came to visit the place, we were given really good customer service, the girl who worked there was very accommodating and gave us a great impression of the lot. When we came back to sign the contract, the price she quoted us was very different and she asked if we got itin writing. She didn't feel accommodating at all, in fact she looked maybe preoccupied or something in her mood was completely different from our initial meeting. When we had called their customer service line (which is apparently routed to a call center) the person on the phone had also quoted us the initial price. I'm wondering if their prices change often or if they just have really bad communication and quoted us for something else. Either way, it kind of felt shady, but still affordable. The next opportunity they missed was the misleading ad and promo online. They claim they have free move-in service, but that service has a very limited availability so we were unable to use it. They also claim they have a truck for use, but you have to reserve it really far in advance. It almost feels like they are phishing for business and doesn't make you feel good. If they were maybe more straight forward with the limitations, then maybe I wouldn't feel so deceived about it. Overall this place is "A-OK". It fits all our needs, the place is pretty private, and there are security cameras as well as an alarm that they claim to have on each storage unit as long as you punch in and out. read more

I have been a client at Saf Keep Storage Hayward for almost 2 1/2 years and I have not been disappointed. Their facility is very clean & whenever I have needed to do some sorting or clean out of my belongings that I have there they were very accommodating. They enthusiastically let me use the site equipment, (dollies & flat carts). I love being able to pay my bill online without an extra convenience fee. The individual doors are alarmed. I found out cause one time I went in to the facility with another tenant & did not log in, so when I decided to look into my unit they came to my unit to see who was opening my door. That is very reassuring to know that they are on it like that. read more

Be aware that if you pick a spot in the new building, there aren't as many parking spaces with direct access so it may be slightly inconvenient if you need to go in and out a lot on weekends. Space is pretty good. Good location. It was just hard to get a advance reservation, like a week before or so, which once I got to know their policy was fine. Communication could be little better. No response after leaving couple of voice messages. Just had to stop by the location to get the details. Would be nice if we can get a response back. Also, the truck, its just hard to book it for the day you are looking for since, they wont reserve your spot until 2 days in advance and wont reserve the truck until you sign the contract, which is fair. But if you would like to avail the free truck service, just make sure to sign the space well in advance. Overall satisfied. read more

At the end of the day, it all boils down to security and $$$ when it comes to finding the right storage place and this place is it given the location works for you. Initially thought somebody who looked a bit shady came in through the gates a few times I had visited my storage but contacted the manager and promptly learned that the man actually had a unit there. A handful of food trucks are parked in the property but are no problem in terms of blockage going around. I have been with Saf Keep (on winton) for about a year and a half now. They have been great. They are clean and the staff is friendly. When I first came here I had gotten a really great deal on a small unit. I have since switched to a bigger unit, they have many sizes to choose from. The only thing I do not like about this place (which is why 4 instead of 5 stars) is that their rates seems to change a lot. I am not used to dealing with this sort of thing but it seems that is the norm in this area. I don't mind too much though because there are ways to get discounts such as referring your' friends. I would have given 5 stars if they were able to work with me and prorate when I vacated the unit. They didn't prorate because I didn't give them advance notice. I decided to store my belongings here during a recent home renovation. I found a great deal online and quickly reserved my unit. I live in SF so the Hayward location was a little out of the way, especially considering the storage facility's hours, but the excellent deal was totally worth it! The management team was awesome to work with and really made the ultimate difference here. When our construction project ran long they even worked with me on the price! How nice. Oh, and I love that they have a FREE moving truck for you to use too! I don't anticipate needed to use a storage unit again for sometime (thankfully no more home renovations are on the docket here) but as soon as I do I'll be headed back to Saf Keep. read more
