Very nice interior and wait staff. Very friendly and attentive to our needs. Never ran out on our drink or had to ask for a refill. Food was quite good but a little on the expensive side (to be expected as it is on a golf course though). I had the Reuben sandwich. Not quite as much meat as expected or is normally on a Reuben, but the flavor was there. Overall very nice experience. read more

We used the menu found on the Facebook page to place an order for pick-up. We had two orders of wings. They were great and the order was ready quickly. Service was friendly. When we got the order Home, we reviewed the bill because it seemed more expensive than we anticipated. We were charged $12.50 for each 10-wing order, the price on the menu was $7.99/order. I contacted the business twice about this. They acknowledged the discrepancy, admitted that they should have changed the online menu, but refused to refund us the $9 in overcharges. We were with a large group on motorcycles. We had called to see if reservations were required 2 weeks in advance. We called and double-checked if reservations were required 3 days ago. When we arrived today for lunch at approx 2 pm, we were told that they not only didn't have staff to serve us but more importantly that they didn't have food. There was a SINGLE table of 5 people in the entire place. And to clarify, our group wasn't a bunch of "dirty bikers", but a group of young and middle age couples. The bartender was very nice but the female waitress was beyond rude. An awful experience. read more

First time here, Sunday afternoon. Service A+, food, wings with house sauce , deep fried banana pepper wings, poppers, safari burger, grilled cheese, Zambesi burger , hot chicken salad. All A++++. This is now my favorite lunch spot. Can't wait to come back for dinner. 2 more years for my son at Allegheny college and we'll be back many times. There is a short, blonde haired and old looking waitress who does her job extremely poorly. It was in August 2010, she flipped out on me when I complained after I was seated and waited nearly a half hour not being served. She said 'I am busy for taking care of a large group'. I saw the group of people came in but they were in way after I seated. She looked at me with evil eyes and treated me like an animal. I finally got a menu on the table but had no desire to stay so I left. I am pretty sure this waitress still works there. So anyone who goes there, make sure you won't get served by her. She uses her favoritism and apparently she is greedy as she likes to serve a large group of people that would tip her more than a solo customer like me. read more

When we arrived multiple tables (every four top) was uncleared. We did enjoy seeing all of the animals on display, but it was an uncomfortable slow moving atmosphere. read more

Worst place I have been to in a long, long time. Food was mediocre at best and the service was abysmal. We went on a Saturday afternoon and it took us 79 minutes to get our food from the time we were seated. I know because I was sending a text the minute I walked in the front door and started paying attention to how long it was taking to actually be served. There were a total of seven tables filled when we were there and one server who was trying her best. Another blonde woman was there but must have felt that helping the staff was above her. She stood at the end of the bar using her cell phone and some type of pink ipad or tablet and didn't help the waitress out at all. This place is horrible in every way. Zero stars. Stood there at least ten minutes and no one came to seat us. We had a reservation, and they had that all mixed up. Only patrons there, and service was terrible. Half those ordering ribeye received strip??? Mine was to be medium rare, was marked so, but was rare. Baked potato was iced cold. Some of the drinks didn't arrive; was told, "she forgot to make them." We all had some kind of steak and never got steak knives. I actually had to chase her down to get one. Oh, yeah, my ribeye was barely warm. The first time we went, it was very busy, service was great, and food was very good. I'd suggest trying it on a weekend. The atmosphere was nice... (if you like dead stuffed animals) BUT... The problems started when we asked about the drink menu and the waitress said that she knew nothing about is since she was only 19 and couldn't drink. We thought she was joking, but she wasn't. Then the fun continued when the rolls that came with the dinner were moldy. When we mentioned it, the waitress said that she had known about it and when she asked someone what to do, she was told to serve them anyhow. She said, "I'm sorry, I'm on your guyzes side... I didn't want to serve them." (lovely grammar) We then said, so, you KNEW they were moldy and you served them anyway.???? She said yes. We were also missing two orders of bread sticks and a baked potato from three of our meals. When we asked for the cost of them to be taken off of the bill, the waitress said... but those things come with the meal and there's only one price on the menu for the entire meal. SHEESH!!! The service was also horrible as the server would disappear for 10-20 minutes at a time. It took over 2 hours to get through the meal which was served a few plates at a time while other people in our party waited for their food. What a mess! The Safari Bar DID take a whopping 10% off of our bill. (big deal) I can't help but wonder how many other people were served moldy food!?!?!? Twice I've eaten here and ordered steaks. Their steaks are very poor quality full of fat and gristle . Got a small 7oz New York strip - for 16 bucks - most of it goes in the trash ! Both times - with a few months in between - bad poor quality steaks. Won't make a 3rd mistake here. read more

We visited this great place last week at our yearly pilgrimage to Spartansburg with my in-laws. We were amazed at the ambiance of this restaurant. While we did not have time to eat we were able to have a couple of drinks at the bar. Our barkeep was Julie(great person) and she asked her father (owner) to spend some time with us and to share his experiences. I could listen to his exploits all day. We are from Boston are are looking forward to our next visit to meet these great people again. read more

We were there last night to celebrate our sons marriage. Had a table in the back for 8 adults and a highchair for little one. Food is excellent, it is one of our favorite restaraunts..but last night our waitress was clueless. Mixed up our meals, never came back around to refill drinks or coffee. We even held up our cups several times to get her attention and she ignored us,Told her the prime rib on one plate was not done right and she just said "oh". Not the greatest experience. We have always had excellent service at this place and always great food so we think she must be a new employee in training. read more

Celebrated Mother's Day there with 7 family members and had the buffet (I guess this was all they offered today between 12-3). With all the advertisement in the local paper, we thought it would be good. WRONG! Meat was very tough, limited options and not worth the price. Two of us found hair in our food! Will not be back and do not recommend... Service was not attentive. This was our second visit to see if there was any improvement and there wasn't. The first time we waited forever for our French Onion soup which came out with our food. It was so salty it was in edible. Decided to try Safari Bar since it's local & we support local businesses in Meadville, we went with the expectation of very low from previous experiences & yes we were correct. The hostess greeted us & asked if we had a reservation, are you kidding me? Then she tells us that they are understaffed tonight, should have ran then but wanted to give them another try. Decided to just get a drink & an appetizer. Waitress came over (well not sure that she was trained as a waitress),& had her handy phone gadget with drink selections on it because she was clueless on what they served & then when we said we would have that particular wine cooler, she said Oh I think we are out of that one! We waited & waited & finally had to hail down another worker to get our drinks & then she brings them to us without a glass of ice which we asked for in the first place. We waited 20 minutes for our appetizer & all it was - deep fried foods - hardly takes that long - but the waitress or person trying to wait on tables told us that our food had dropped on the floor so the cook had to start over!! We are speechless at this point & thank goodness we finally got our alcoholic drink so we were a little more relaxed and able to cope with this experience. Also, they serve cheese sticks on this appetizer but no marinara sauce for dipping, we had to ask for that too. We waited for our check, we waited for the girl to come get our money to pay & finally my husband had to take the bill to the bar to pay! Oh by the way, the owners were in the bar walking around & eating but not noticing anything! They need a good manager & get out of Meadville & go to a restaurant that has quality food & excellent customer service & learn from them. We will not return! read more
