His deep understanding of animal behavior allowed him to recognize that two lionesses who appeared to be relaxing were actually stalking a herd of zebra. We stayed and witnessed the lions take down a zebra. We also had other lions and elephants walk within feet of our safari vehicle. We stayed in tent camps inside the parks, with animals wandering through the camp at night. We also stayed at a lovely lodge on a coffee farm. In addition to the safari, we visited two tribes, a historic village, and a project that employed disabled people to enable them to support their families by making beautiful artisan crafts. I would definitely take another safari with Ally and Guided Tanzania.

To be honest it's hard sometimes for me to remember a time when I excitedly plunged myself into an epic adventure with 27 strangers - on one very special bus. Nowadays - I'd pack way too much: my special pillow, my favorite travel blanket, art supplies, Tylenol PM, too many clothes and 'just incases' crammed beside an excessive amount of toiletries. But back then - I was different. I craved the freedom of not knowing what to expect. I don't remember wearing any makeup. Donned my favorite worn jeans, a Grateful Dead hat, and my puffy red coat - the whole time. And I didn't miss a thing. I didn't want for anything. The food was delicious and perfect. The company was friendly and warm. The music was lulling and inspiring. The sights were breathtaking. The bus was comfortable and cozy. And our gentle hearted leader and driver - Jimmy - guided us with humility and quick witted humor - into the desert and beyond. And really cool supporting an independent tour operator. Loved the three day trip to Yosemite. The tour was well-planned for my small group. At first, I was a little uncertain. I mean, who does guaranteed departures when only two people are signed up? Well, Dylan accommodated. The trip left plenty of time to do and see the things I came for. There was an unhurried attitude about when to meet, leave, etc. which means you don't feel like a bussed in-tour group feeling like "cattle." Large groups always create delays and end up pissing off other people if someone wants to speed-up, or slow-down or see something a little different. Helping give input to your itinerary here was encouraged, and helped create a good cohesiveness for the excursion. Campsite was great with excellent hot water showers. And food was perfect for this style of camping. Even though parts of the park were shut down (Glacier point road) due to wildfire spreading, I still feel like I came away getting a great experience of the Yosemite Valley. It's truly magnificent. And one day would not have been enough. On the way back we stopped by In-N-Out Burger greeted with the sun setting to an orange sky sunset. Definitely would recommend others take "the adventure." This is my home airport, what is not to love? =)…read more Anyways, Buchanan Airport is one of the more competitive GA airports here in the Bay Area. There are FBO's onsite to cater your fueling and pair needs as well as a few flight schools to help you on getting your license. There is also a kids play area on the airport and I always give the a nice wave when passing by to and from my parking. It always nice to taxi along jets as JSX airlines is also present in this field. Although a restaurant is not present within the premises, fret not. There are a multitude of good restaurants just stones away form Buchanan airport. From the transient parking, the Veranda is just over a half mile with shops, restaurants, end even a movie theatre. I am glad to have KCCR as my home airport.
