Along the way she pointed out the history and relationships of the native and non-native plants and trees we encountered. She had answers to all of my questions. I learned about some specific birds as well. Overall, I learned a lot. The sights, sounds and terrain were wonderful. Leanne's spirit, humor and depth of knowledge made a beautiful hike so much more. Todd is the man, and his company is the place for off road and off the beaten path adventures…read more Whether or not you have an off road vehicle capable of some true trail and rock crawling and climbing, this is one outfit that can make it happen. Bring your own capable rig, or get one from Todd, either way your adventure is going to be unforgettable, and here are some reasons why. If you're not an regular overlander you'll either test your driving ability in his vehicle, or you'll test your own vehicle AND your abilities in one of the many canyons or along some of the jaw dropping trails and vistas throughout Death Valley. But at each stop you'll see amazing views and some wildlife along with Todd's insight and knowledge of the area, then handed a plate of an amazing chef prepared lunch, or quick snack while taking it all in. When i say snack, I don't mean a bag of nuts or Doritos, unless you want those things....I'm talking about a Chilled Citrus and Avocado salad, or Chilled Ahi Poke- while standing in the desert. Maybe some toast points and Albacore with Ponzu and crispy onions? What you don't get is an MRE in a box. I chose the Death Valley trip- I've never been there and was itching to get some desert night shots and get my Land Cruiser out into some real trails and canyon crawling. I thought my LC was set up for almost anything, but of course , i made of list of things i need after talking with Todd and doing some very cool trails and climbs- and of course setting up camp. Having a chef in tow is an amazing and relaxing- this is bougie and let bougie prevail once in a while- i'm in, all in. What's next?!

If I could give 10 stars I would!…read more Where to begin... 1. Todd Rogers was so great to work with through the planning process. He was extremely informative, very responsive and really helped me come up with the best plan for the time of year and what we were looking to achieve. Todd also made sure we were well prepared for the trip with equipment, safety considerations and other preparations. He was very attentive to make sure our vehicles and gear list we're going to work successfully on the trip. 2. We opted to have a Chef along with us and it was well worth the extra cost. We had some dietary restrictions and they were very accommodating. The food was excellent and very appropriate for the trip. In addition, Barron, the expedition Cook was also highly experienced in over landing and was also a firefighter/EMT and he was super cool. 3. OMG! Death Valley was the expedition we decided on and cannot express enough how stunning, diverse and beautiful it is. There were lots of surprises along the way and happy Todd waited to show us and share them. 4. Todd was extremely professional (but very relaxed and casual in his approach). We learned so much from a technical standpoint with off-road traversing in the vehicles, shared lots of his wisdom and knowledge about over landing, and was just super fun to hang out with! I could go on and on but this isn't a novel, it's a review :-) If you are looking to do an off-road excursion I literally could not more highly recommend for points adventures. Tucked away in the Godlen Eagle gated community, Augustin Bernal Park is truly an eastbay hidden…read moregem. It's a 237 acre part on the east side of the Pleasanton Ridge. Its boundaries include the EBRPD Pleasanton Ridge regional park. It seems the park was gifted to the city around 1971 but its history (and name) date back to the Spanish settler who originally owned the land. This is one of the few shaded hikes I found in the east bay hills that offers really good views and some perfect hiking loops. There's also mountain bike trails with some being only for bikers and equestrian trails as well. The only issue that makes this a less-than-perfect park is the access. This year, they started requiring non-residents of Pleasanton to have a pass which is now on a fee basis; if you're a resdient of Pleasanton then it's no big deal to get in. I know there is a another access point via walking on Longview drive and that used to be no permit required but I have not tried it recently. Technically, one could also hike here from the Pleasanton Ridge regional park via the ridgeline trail too. At the time of this review, it seemed to be 10 dollars for a week pass via https://www.cityofpleasantonca.gov/your-community/parks-trails/ .

I've never taken a train at this station as I've only picked-up my son a couple of years ago on our…read moreway to Brentwood. From the outside, it does look like much, and it looks rather bland. It's surrounded by a huge parking lot in the middle of nowhere. At least, that's what my first impression was. However, when I had to drop off my car at an auto shop in Martinez recently, I took a Lyft ride to this station to catch a train to the city. From the outside, it looks like Plain Jane, but from inside the platform, it looks gorgeous. The view looking West is so picturesque with the vibrant, green trees on both sides, bushes on the left side and the retaining wall on the right side is aesthetically pleasing to look at. It's framed like a modern painting that evokes a feeling of calmness. But you know what they say...beaty is in the eye of the beholder. But these are the things that captures my eyes as I get older and enjoy the serenity and simple things in life. Funny how such mundane things captures my attention and have such a strong reaction to a glimpse of unpretentious moment of time. The station is also, quiet, clean and unobstructed. The only negative I would have to say is that it doesn't have a covered garage to provide as shade to your vehicles. Especially in this part of town where the heat can become so unbearable. They do have some small trees in the parking lot though, but not enough to provide the proper protection from the sun. Other than that, it was better than I expected, and took me a bit by surprise.

Well sometimes they offer special ferries for the Giants or Warriors games in SF. Atmosphere - Beautiful. I hike/bike here at times as well. Plenty of parking, 250 spaces, no overnight parking allowed. 20 bike racks available, the ferry is bike friendly as well. 24 bike lockers available. AC Transit = 21 line. Public restrooms, don't expect much. Service - 5 stars. My favorite form of travel, especially with the continued discounted price. It has gone back up slightly, but still very affordable. Thank you. Approximately 20 minutes to get to SF. Also, since I have lived in Alameda, the ferry service has always been on time. This ferry, similar to Sea Plane, operates only Monday to Friday. So if you go on a weekend, you need to take the main ferry. Price - $4.70 one way with a clipper card. Still almost 50% off versus pre-pandemic prices, thank you. Also just discovered the main ferry only cost $1 to go to Jack London Square; so why am I still driving to the Rosenblum winery??? Wait, I also just discovered a free water taxi and I can't wait to try that! Main Island ferry special event tickets - $10.75 to Chase Center. Owner Comment - Thanks for having a ferry on the south side of the island! So much better than having to drive to SF.

Came here when I did a BART trip to SF with a friend. The overall area is nice--nearby a suburban…read moreneighborhood--with lots of parking spots, both indoor and outdoor. The fact that there is a parking garage was a huge plus for me. The fee to park here is $3/day within the hours of 4am-3pm. Any time outside of those hours is free. Payment can be done through the BART app, where you will need to link your Clipper Card number and license plate number. This is to ensure that you actually entered BART and aren't abusing the parking spaces reserved for BART riders. When paying for your spot, you input the number you parked in (located on the ground of your parking space), add your payment info, and you're good to go! It should be a pretty smooth and speedy process. I parked on the far end of the parking garage, so walking to and from the BART entrance was a bit far, but it was definitely doable. Like all BART stations, this location is equipped with kiosks to add value to your Clipper Card. There are escalators that take you to the upper level which is where you enter the train car. The train car had a frequency of 15 minutes during the time we were there, so it came pretty fast. Once we got in we were on our way!

Picking up somebody at this bart station was pretty easy on a Friday (still during pandemic…read morethough). There weren't too many cars, which I know won't be the case once the pandemic is over. And there were plenty parking stalls available as well. I also liked the close proximity of this Bart station to Downtown Concord. It made it super convenient for us to pick up foods or boba drinks on my way back from this Bart station. The train ride from Pleasant Hill Bart to this one was a bit long though with a few stops here and there. But other than that, everything seemed pretty good with this station. No complaints.

Very nice and quiet with a nice view. The staff were nice and helpful. The ferry had plenty of seats on both levels. As of February 3rd, 2026, the Alameda Seaplane Ferry will be charging for additional parking. Their…read morerationale is it's going towards hiring security guards and can/will increase their prices by $1 yearly or at their own discretion. This doesn't sit right for a few reasons. 1. Having security doesn't guarantee your car won't get broken into and if it does they're not the ones filing the police report/making an insurance claim. We the commuters still are. We all have seen countless security guards at malls who just stand there calling the cops and unable to intervene. Because that's not their job. 2. I would had been happier if they raised the fairs for the ferry ride so the crew members can get paid more plus add an extra route at 7:40 in the morning to prevent congestion. Charging for parking does not do that. 3. If parking space is an issue, why did you remove the entire first row of parking spots and made them for visitors. That's such a waste of spots when the majority of the people who actually ride the ferry are commuters. Visitors who visit the area will park near the pier down the street not the actual ferry parking itself, so these decisions don't make sense at all. So if you're heading to the ferry starting February 3rd be prepared to download the parksmart app to pay or risk being ticketed.
