Once you get past the unorganized grueling process of registration swim lessons are quite pleasant…read more The lifeguards who teach are experienced and very attentive. When I went to sign the kids up for outdoor swim lessons. For some reason you can only sign up the first of the month, in person. They lost the key and it took an hour of everyone waiting out in the hot sun to finally let us in and another long wait to actually get us in the system. Not sure why you can't call and sign up or do it online.

Fort Gordon is changing their policy for who can get on base and one military ID for the car isn't going to be enough. Everyone over the age of 18 needs a military ID or must get a visitor's pass. Just a heads up because it could spoil a trip to Fort Gordon if you aren't prepared in advance. Back to the pool... they have a larger pool complete with diving boards, a huge slide, basketball hoop and plenty of open space to swim and life jackets available for anyone to use. As you can imagine, this pool gets busy but there are lifeguards on duty to keep it under control! There's a separate baby pool and the splash pad attracts mostly the younger kids (be warned there's a mandatory break every hour and then the splash pad is over run with big kids). As far as the splash pad goes, it's a fun area and has a cute little slide that even adults can fit down to help toddlers. With that being said, I feel as though the pressure of the water coming out of these spouts are way too high! I was walking through with my 17 month old and I can't tell you how many times I was blasted in the face unable to see! Maybe it's because the height is adjusted for kids but they have to know adults will be going in to supervise. There are plenty of chairs to sit on with the overhead shade things ( not sure on official name) and ones directly in the sun. The ones we used are in eyesight of splash pad but if they had lockers, I would've preferred to put our stuff in those instead. They don't really have a locker room, it more of a bathroom with a bench in it. I was surprised they didn't have showers available. The price is $4 for adults and I can't remember what age is the cutoff for them to get in free. There's a little concession stand with more seating under umbrellas, mostly unhealthy options to my dismay. Overall, a great facility and professionally managed...hooray!

I signed my son up for infant survival classes in February for him to start lessons in September…read more We paid half the total fee. It was out of my mind until we got the medical questionnaire and the registration fee was due which we promptly paid and sent in the questionnaire. After we sent that in we were informed our son was disqualified because he has his Covid vaccinations. Something about it being unsafe without a clean ekg. I did not understand this but as a business that is their right to make that policy. However, this was not mentioned at all to me (I keep relooking at correspondence and see nothing about Covid vaccines) while signing up and making payments. If it had been I would not have signed him up as we knew as soon as he turned 6 months we would be getting him vaccinated. We were informed that we would get a full refund of the first payment we made in February and a partial refund of the registration fee......this is where they lost me. They just took the registration fee and then like a week later won't be refunding the full amount because they booted my kid for being vaccinated. If this were stated from the beginning we wouldn't have paid anything therefore wouldn't have lost any money or time and energy. I emailed stating our regret and how this should have been mentioned before any money was sent that wasn't 100% refundable and never heard back. All of is just poor business etiquette. So basically save yourself some time and money and don't enroll you child if they have had their Covid vaccines or your kid will be disqualified at least for the infant survival classes. If they aren't vaccinated - we have a friend who seems to enjoy using this business.

She also makes sure the parents are very informed of every step of the process. Ms. Shannon is trained in Infant Aquatic Survival and has various certifications.
