The dealer service center tried to make me buy unneeded parts that would have cost almost a grand. Rob replaced the correct part for under $300. My girlfriend goes to school at KU and needed her car inspected. I thought it would make sense for her to just go to a place local and get it done no problem, but I was wrong. She walked into this place where they tried telling her she needed $1100 in repairs in order for her car to get inspected, and charged her for the stickers they didn't even give her. After that we decided to take it to a mechanic we trust in our local area and he passed it no problem, even after asking about the issues this mechanic told us we needed to take care of. These guys should not be trusted and I believe they were just trying to take advantage of the fact that this was a young lady college student who didn't know any better. Shame on them and I would encourage anyone reading this to go somewhere else. This is not how you run a business. read more

Do not let these guys touch your vehicle you are better off having Joey down the street fixing your car. I went for an inspection and the lady behind the front desk actually left her job to go get her car checked out somewhere else. She literally works at Safe and Sound Automotive but left her job to go take her truck to get worked on by another auto care place and her boss allowed her to do so. She didn't even come back in time to ring me out and provide me an estimate. The mechanics who do not know how to work a register had me wait 20 minutes just to tell me that the lady would not be back to ring me up for my inspection. They had me come in the next day just so I could pay for my inspection. I never had such unprofessional service from an auto care place in my life. Since they are so close to Kutztown University they make their money by taking advantage of naive college students who really do not understand what a fair price for labor and parts should be. read more

My experience with Safe and Sound was horrible. They received only one star from me because zero stars is not an option. I used to own a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup. During the winter I blew out the transmission trying to get unstuck. I took it to Safe and Sound to have the transmission replaced. They sold me on a jasper transmission which I had to take a loan out to pay for. A few weeks after the repair the transmission started "feeling" funny while driving. I took it back to Safe and Sound and told The Female owner (I can't remember her name) and Rob there mechanic that something didn't seem right. Rob got in my truck without me to take it for a drive, jumped on the gas and sped off down the road. He returned and said everything was fine. I was relieved. A week later driving up a strep hill on 662 the brand new transmission that there was nothing wrong with blew out leaving me stranded late at night. The next day I called them expressed my distaste and also said they should be responsible for towing to their shop. They said they would tow it but was sketchy on weather or not I would be charged for the tow. A second transmission was installed I told them I was not going to pay for the towing. The owner reluctantly agreed. When I went to pick up the truck she told me that Jasper's warrant provided only the transmission but not the transmission fluid which was going to cost me $120. I told them I didn't have it but I needed the truck to get to work and would stop back on pay day to pay for the transmission fluid. After talking to another shop they told me jasper includes the fluid and why would they use a jasper transmission in the first place when a factory dodge transmission is about the same cost. I never returned to pay for the "not included fluid". After all this the truck had the same feeling it had before, In the transmission That Rob said was fine. I ended up selling the truck and owing money on the loan for the transmission. It is my belief the Safe and Sound was trying to have me pay for the tow by saying Jasper transmissions didn't include the fluid. I will never use "Safe" and Sound auto again and hope others reading this will be aware of the bad business tactics used there. I now only use Station Auto Body. read more
