Our Lincoln Navigator took a large rock to the windshield driving through Atlanta, causing major/multiple cracks across our windshield. We immediately phoned Safelite. The customer service we received from that call through completion of the replacement was exceptional!! Due to our travels it was difficult to fit in an appointment, but the Safelite reps worked tirelessly with us to find the best appointment and location for the replacement. On the day of the appointment, it rained unexpectedly, and we had nowhere to provide cover to complete the service. However our tech, Michael (from the Asheville, NC office) encouraged me to think creatively to find a location and stayed with us for 30 minutes while we found a solution. He then drove an additional 15 minutes to a local garage where we could safely under cover complete the work. Michael willingness to think outside of the box and go the extra yard was unexpected and extremely refreshing! As the owner of Yonder Luxury Vacation Rentals, we subscribe to the policy of "exceptional hospitality", which basically means we will look to do everything and anything to create the best guest experience for our customers; so, it was refreshing to see Michael & Safelite exhibit that same exceptional customer service to us!! First impressions are everything. Unfortunately, Safelite doesn't care. About the impression they give or the customers they allegedly serve. My power window wouldn't roll back up so I looked for a shop that would fix this issue. I found Safelite. We've all seen the commercials, right? I use their site, with their suggestion of a regulator + installation fee. It's all I need. So I set up the appointment for a mobile tech to come out and help me fix this window. It's set for a week after I make it, as that was the only available date, for a 12-5pm slot. Simple enough. The day arrives and everything seems good on schedule. So I wait, and I wait, and I wait. 5pm arrives and no calls, no emails, no nothing from the company or the tech. I have to go thru customer support to find out what's going on, only to learn that my appt had been cancelled. Not only that but they flat out wrote, in a note, to the company itself, that they won't do the job. What a joke. Safelite is absolute garbage. Won't do the job because it wasn't paying them in the thousands, it was too simple a job for them to come out and do. They make me wait a week + the entire time slot for no reason whatsoever. If you're going to waste my time, tell me you won't do it before a week is up. So much for being a "professional business". You're a joke. This was my first time selecting you for a job that your own site said you would do and it's also my last. Zero stars for making me wait a week, plus the entire time slot of the day, only to decide you won't even do it. Now I'm still stuck with a window that won't roll up and a week of rain and thunderstorms coming up. Thanks for nothing, you good for nothing company. Support Tech Alyssa, however, couldn't have been more wonderful. She was the only one that gave me any info on what was even going on. I give Alyssa 5 stars across the board, despite the fact that no resolution could be reached. I still had to reach out to them instead of the company letting me know anything but she was very nice about everything. read more

Zero stars. After I got my keys back, I saw both the inside and outside of my car got covered in dirt. They told me to eventually remove the tape on the windshield, but there wasn't any to remove. The next day, it rained, so I opened the car to see how it was doing. My car now leaks inside somewhere from underneath one of the roof moldings they took off for the installation. I went to a warranty appointment where I was told it was a pure coincidence that this happened in this spot the moment after they worked on it. Mind you, you can't watch what they are doing for "your safety." Came with one problem, left with another, and they refuse to acknowledge the problem. Should've gone somewhere else. read more

I was experiencing a leak in the seal of my front windshield. The repair/replace went well and I am amazed at not only how clear the windshield is (I didn't realize the old one was less so,) and how much the road noise has been reduced as well. The tech mentioned that the seal had been compromised in numerous places, which didn't come as a surprise. The tech was professional, polite and efficient. The only reason I am only giving a 4-star rating is that the scheduling was not as smooth as it could have been. The first tech came out without a windshield as he expected to repair only a chip. Fortunately, this was caught en route when he called to give me a 30-minute advanced warning (this is a plus, in my book!) He said he would alert the office to reschedule, which they apparently did but failed to advise me of the new date or time. Fortunately again, the scheduling system sends reminders, which is the only way disaster was averted. The other minor detail that was disappointing is that the windshield was not cleaned on the inside, after the tech completed his work and required cleaning (which is a pain in the butt, but not the end of the world.) Overall, I would recommend them and will use them again if needed. read more

I called to have my windshield replaced and was told when the technician got there he could repair it and it left a dime size place in the center of my windshield and now it is starting to run. I was told when I booked they guaranteed their work and would replace it if something went wrong now I am being told that they will only credit the cost of the repair and I will be charged over 600.00 for the replacement. A company is only as good as their word apparently Safelite is not standing by their word. I have been placed on hold and passed back and forth between departments with no answers. Had a rock nick my windshield. Took it to Safelite on Henderson Rd in Asheville to get it repaired. They ended up totally breaking my windshield and told me I had to get it replaced for $380.00 with a $75 discount for them breaking it. Took it back and they replaced the Windshield. However, they failed to tighten my wiper blades down which caused them to mangle when I turned them on in the rain. Almost caused an accident. Plus they didn't connect my Rain Sensor correctly which caused it not to work at all. HORRIBLE WORKMANSHIP!!! Do not go to this Safelite Location due to Technician Incompetence!!! Asheville Toyota Has now stated that the Rain Sensor has been damaged and it will cost over $800 to replace the part and repair. I am now going to Safelite to see if they will pay for the damage they caused. Ok. Went and spoke with a Manager directly at the Safelite Location in Asheville. He apologized profusely and after his inspection of the Rain Sensor agreed to pay for all the Costs associated with the installation of a New $800+ Rain Sensor to be installed by Fred Anderson Toyota of Asheville next week. I will upgrade or delete this review after this work is completed to my satisfaction. Safelite paid for all the work with Asheville Toyota in replacing my Rain Sensor. I am upgrading this Review. This never should have happened to begin with but Safelite came through and did the Right Thing!! read more

I gave a three because it took a week to schedule and then they canceled my appointment the day before so I waited another 5 days. This is obviously an large company with all the money for commercials on tv and internet. The price seemed high to me but I only called one other person who was half the price. The tech who finally came was good and knew what he was doing. That may not be always the case. They do have great notifications but they also use that to try to sell you on wipers to generate more revenue. You can go to a body shop but I guess some shops don't change glass either. I wonder what I would have done if my windshield was broken and leaking. I guess all business need more employees to get work done. Hope this helps. read more

Yes, "Meh. I've experienced better." Why? I had the windshield on my KIA 'repaired' at their facility. At the same time, the technician told me that my windshield wipers needed replacing and they are promoting their brand which are on sale including installation (not that I couldn't do it myself). Skip to 3 months later right before taking a road trip. I had to get the car inspected, and the inspector noted that the windshield wipers were spent, done, needed to be replaced. My husband and I had noticed the wipers didn't work well at all, and they were making a scratching noise on the driver side window when they were on during rain. I had them replaced the day before we left town, and I called Safelight in Asheville to let them know. The guy I spoke to said I had to file a claim and make an appointment. (Really?) So, I did. Got a call this morning that the tech is on his way. I told him that I thought it was ridiculous to have to make an appointment for a refund, especially since the wipers are under warranty for 6 months. He said, "I'll call you back". Got a call from the shop manager, Andrew Rogers, who was completely unprofessional and had a very poor attitude. He just regurgitated a script about how they would only replace the wipers, and not give a refund. I don't want their poorly manufactured wipers! I want a refund. 20 bucks. No can do. He became enraged and insisted that the wipers couldn't be bad, and he would not give me a refund. Without even examining them, taking them back, or considering that it may be defective, he spoke extremely unprofessionally. Clearly I was not going to get anywhere. So I asked to speak with his supervisor, to which he responded, "I'm in charge here, You can only talk to me". This guy should be "written up" or reprimanded. Can you believe this? For a 20 refund for wipers that were purchased with a windshield repair (which, by the way, did NOT stop the crack from spreading). Got it. It's a company store. I'll now waste more of my time trying to get to a corporate customer service person to agree to refund my money. Twenty dollars! I do believe my social media reviews may have at least $20 of impact to their sales. read more

I was on my way to Asheville for a wedding when a rock/pebble hit my windshield and cracked it right in my line of vision. I was able to get an appointment with Safelite via Allstate for the next day. Timothy, the technician, was very professional and was able to replace the windshield within 2 hours. He even dropped off my car while I waited at a restaurant nearby when it was done. Excellent experience. read more

I was driving my truck through the construction area on Interstate 26 in Asheville and a stone hit my windshield and left a nickel size chip/crack. I made an appointment to have them come to my residence to repair. It took two tries to get it "fixed". The technician who showed up both times was not a people person. When asked questions he only replied yes or no. I left him to do the repair and 10 minutes later, I looked outside and his van was gone. I received a text saying that the repair was finished. I went outside and it didn't even look like he had done anything. Looking more closely, you could see a small "dot" of filler in the very center of the crack. The rest of the crack wasn't even filled. I hopped in the truck and went to the Safelite Garage. I spoke with another technician who actually had some people skills, and she looked at the repair and told me that the repair was considered "repaired by their standards". She said that "it was repaired enough so the crack would not get any bigger". She said that the crack wouldn't be able to be filled enough to make it un-noticeable. What a waste of time and money. read more

My window looked great, however, I choose in store replacement.. which was my first mistake, the guys were nice and all, however my tire had a nail in it when I picked up my car. I could hear it in there. It wasn't until a few hours later when I had a customer in my car that my tire went completely flat. So embarrassing. I contacted safelite and never got a response. I also did the email review and choose the contact me about my issue button and also never heard back from safelite. read more

Nice folks. The windshield they installed had a tiny scuff. They were upfront about it and gave me a choice of having the installation redone or getting a discount. I took the discount and they were generous about the amount. I was very pleased and my have them replace a windshield on a classic car of mine as well. read more

I have a small dime size rock chip and after the repair it looks the same. The vacuum didn't pull the bonding agent into the crack lines.

Two days later I went into the shop, super nervous. Your employees put me at ease. I was freaking out that I was throwing my money away, and it wasn't that I was throwing my money away, and it wasn't going to work. Safelight is a terrible company. They put in a back window on my truck that had a slider that wouldn't open all the way and the window glue so measly done it had gobs overflowing on inside. They told me they could order a new brand of window and replace it but then kept stringing me along for over a month. Sent two workers out to make replacement, only to find out they sent the same brand of window with same slider window problems. I had to stay home 1/2 the day for their window of arrival twice, and call managers 7 times. Wasting over 10 hours of my time. And in the end they never could get a new brand of window that worked right. So I'm now stuck with a window that doesn't slide all the way for a very expensive price. Such a pain to deal with, very poor communication within the company, and I'll never use this company again!! read more

I made an appointment to get my windshield replaced due to a crack that made my car undriveable. The soonest appointment was 5 days after the crack occurred. Two days after i scheduled they called to tell me they wouldn't be able to come and asked if they could come 4 days after my scheduled appointment. I said no I can't drive my car and cannot wait that long. He told me to drive my car anyways. RIDICULOUS! never use this service if you need to drive your car within a week or two of needing a new windshield! read more

Never again. They asked me to fill out a survey, I wasn't happy, and I asked them to have a customer service person call me...no one ever called me. Right away I see that I'm missing a small piece of molding. He took out my windshield, couldn't put the new one in because he said I have rust around the frame...he used his smart phone to find me 3 local body shops and told me it's fine for me to drive my car, without a windshield, and I should get one of these to fix the frame and he'd come out and finish the job. It's not legal in NC to drive a car without a windshield! I would have had my car driven on a trailer that a friend owns. I should have never listened to my repairman. I would never recommend this company....plus, without insurance I paid way more than I would have if I had just gone through the local body shop. read more

Incompetent, incredibly lousy customer service. Safelite replaced my windshield and broke the driver side windshield wiper arm. Send me to a dealership to have it fixed. They fixed it but could not get Safelite to pay for several days. I was ensured that it would be taken care of by the time I got there to pick up my car. Not so. I understand that things go wrong. But then everything possible should be done to fix it with minimal impact on the customer. When I got to the dealership, they had a full history of stories of this very thing happening over and over again: Safelite not paying in time and customers having to wait or leave and come back later. I highly recommend you stay away from Safelite even if that is your insurance's preferred contractor. read more
