Recently, I had to have the back window of my car replaced. I scheduled the at home service with Safelite and they arrived as scheduled, but I was unhappy with the finished product. It was a complicated issue and not really the tech's fault. I drove the car to the Safelite service center and spoke with the manager who was fabulous. He listened and inspected the problem and he and his team went right to work. And fixed the issue completely to my satisfaction.. Everyone was pleasant and polite and worked together to take care of a sticky issue. I'm very happy with the service at Safelite. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. I have now had to bring my car in 4 TIMES in the last month for driver side window. The employees are always in a bad mood and have an attitude. I brought it in for broken glass and it went half way up after a day. I then brought it back in and it did the same thing after a week. I took it back and the THIRD TIME the window POPPED OUT AND TIPPED while rolling it up. I had to catch it before it fell and hit the ground while driving. I have asked for the general manager and STILL not heard back. Absolutely horrible service do not use them! read more

I had a small chip in my windshield from a highway rock, so I took it to Safelite in Cedar Rapids, IA. They took the car for 30 minutes, and charged me $99 plus tax. When my car was returned, the chip was no different. After moving my family to a new city and state in the next week after that, I went to a Safelite location in my new town. The previous work should have had a Lifetime Warranty. The new location told me they couldn't help me, since it had already been attempted to be repaired. However, they could give me a discount on a replacement windshield because of the Warranty. I am not giving this company any more money for the NOTHING that I have received so far. I was wary to schedule an appointment with any company when I needed to replace my windshield. Reviews were hard to come by and nobody I knew had any personal experience with local companies. I ended up scheduling with Safelite and I had a fantastic experience. I called my insurance company to file the claim and they then transferred me to Safelite customer service. The appointment was a breeze to schedule and customer service was phenomenal to work with. Scott was my technician- he was very professional and thorough. There was a second person who worked on the windshield, but I never spoke with him so I'm not sure of his name. He did clean the outside of each window. I received a confirmation phone call and email, 2 reminder emails, and a text with Scott's information. I certainly wouldn't forget my appointment! read more

Cedar Rapids Safelite has been great. I broke the rear window on my Chrysler van TWICE in one month! I took it in and they had it fixed in just a few hours. Even washed the windows and vacuumed it out and drove it back to my house. Everyone very friendly and helpful in the office. read more

I got a rock chip on my windshield while driving on the interstate. My insurance company sent me to SafeLite. toyed with doing this repair myself after watching some videos on YouTube using a DIY kit, but I thought it would be best to let the professionals handle it. The results on YouTube were better than the repair I got here. The SafeLite fix may have been stronger (maybe) but it was not any nicer to look at. The repair is very obvious to me and was not what I was expecting after having watched repair kit videos online. Overall, disappointed. read more

I took my car in to get a rock chip fixed, everything was explained well and I knew that the chip would not be invisible. That held true, however this is not the cause for my negative review. The next morning after the repair, my TPMS light came on and I pulled over to check my tires. Every tire had been deflated exactly 5 lbs (to the tenth of a PSI) from normal, which I maintain to spec. We had already had the chilly night that would've cause the air pressure to lower in older tires, which I do not have. Nor have I ever had a drastic lowering of pressure since I've owned this vehicle. So I thought that was weird, but then... A day later, I noticed that my fuel economy was drastically lower than the all the other tanks I've had. I always use the same gas, heck, even the same pump at the same station. I'm also VERY observant of my gas economy and I now estimate that 2.3 gallons was siphoned from my car. No one else has keys or access to my tank, so I'm left to believe that it was done during the chip fix. Furthermore, a few days later a 'check fuel cap' message scrolled across my screen, so I pulled over to inspect. Sure enough, the cap wasn't clicked (which I always do) and after going to the internet to find the explanation, it literally said that it takes 'a few driving days' for the problem to be noticed by the system and a message to appear. I believe that I did not cause this because my last fill was 10 days prior to my visit to the Safelite location (still had receipt) and the message would have shown well before my appointment. Considering all this, I cannot recommend this location to anyone. There's apparently some shady stuff going on behind the scenes and as I was there for only 40 minutes, I heard two separate instances of sexual harassment towards the receptionist by an unseen shop worker that would've had anyone else in another business seeing HR for their termination papers. I can only say that the rock chip fix was the only pleasurable part of my experience there, other than my insurance covering the entire cost. Thanks Progressive! read more
