Driving home from Tampa to Miami last year, a rock hit our windshield and caused a huge crack on it. We contacted our insurance company, who recommended Safelite. This location was closest to our home. Safelite didn't call us for 3 days, so I called them. It turned out that our insurance company gave them the wrong phone number for us and that's why we didn't hear from them. You would think Safelite would've called my insurance company to get the correct number, but they didn't. They did come out the next morning and did the reinstallation. The tech was nice and polite. I did want to say that we have not had any problems with the replacement windshield. Enough time and rain have gone by, and there have been no problems since. Don't use this company. They came weeks ago. Problem Nr. 1: they came with the wrong windshield. Prob #3: right windshield, but broke the cover behind the rearview mirror Prob Nr. 4: they ordered part, I drive 40 Minutes to their location. Guy puts it in and breaks the part above, that covers cables. They keep the part, promise to order it and have it installed within a couple of days. One week, two weeks - nothing. Problem # 5: I call them, no response, call my insurance, they get their customer service, one countries to help. Another attempt on my part - nothing. Prob #6: my insurance intervened again. Nothing. Prob # 7:customer service tries and makes promises. Prob #8: they schedule a mobile service to bring the piece. Guy shows up today with a windshield. Mobile installation was prompt and really felt professional until the tech didn't have the correct equipment to recalibrate my safety systems, so he told me another tech would be by shortly afterwards to finish it up. No one ever came and after countless calls to the main office, my original tech, texts and emails, to no avail, I will have to look elsewhere to finish the job properly. This is an international company and would seem to have a good reputation on the outside, but to my understanding, the stores are individually managed, so this partly explains the horrible customer service at this particular location. If scheduling service through Safelite, I recommend that you call an individual store that you can research independently to verify they won't leave you hanging after they don't fully perform the promised service and one that they will charge my insurance company for, which by the way, I will be calling to inform them that they did not perform the very important recalibration of the safe features on my vehicle and hope they do not get reimbursed for the service until they get it done as it should have been. read more

My windshield had a crack and I reported to safelite. Technician came out he said needs replacement. I made a mobile appointment technician never arrived. Made a second appointment again no technician. Third appointment I went to the facility on 8th and 27th Ave. They replaced my windshield with aftermarket and not one of my sensors worked. Cruise control, lane assist, brake and front sensors. Returned recalibrated and still nothing. Chris the assistant manager informed they will order an OEM glass and he will follow up with me and NOTHING. TESLA OWNERS BEWARE!!! DO NOT USE SAFELITE!!!! We dropped our car off at 9:30am on Friday morning and after waiting all day, we found out at 6pm that they could not complete the job. We had to bring it back at 8am the next day on Saturday and after 2 hours of waiting in this awful waiting room, they finally released the car to us. Over 24 hours of waiting for our car. Unacceptable. On top of that, the technician drove our Tesla around Miami for 2 hours Friday and 1 hour on Saturday trying to recalibrate the system. They drained our battery by driving around aimlessly. Tesla would have charged us $310/hour if Safelite couldn't recalibrate successfully. Worst experience ever. The tech made a mess in my interior, damaged a speaker grill and ripped of the passenger visor from the clips, and didn't even come forward so I noticed when I was driving away. The manager "Cesar" at first seemed friendly and willing to help and said he would put me as priority, and after I had to go physically back a second time for an update (because it's impossible to get them on the phone), he didn't remember me at all so I took him to he car and he didn't even remember the damage. He seems like an alcoholic and someone that doesn't really care to be there. The commercials are nice and then when you actually go you realize it's a disaster, from the work itself, to the morale of the employees. Although Safelite in Pembroke, Fl quoted 2 1/2 hours to replace our windshield, we wanted to go to Miami Safelite which was closer to our location. Miami Safelie quoted 4-5 hours. He guaranteed they would fix and it's been two months since and nothing. The first time I visited the shop they were unable to make the repair. The second visit they said they hadn't even ordered the correct part. Today I'm on hold for about an hour and fifteen minutes and no resolution. I cannot recommend Safelite anymore. The appointments are too far out now. It has become a factory. Appointments are weeks out. The technician did not make sure the rear windshield defroster was working and did not speak English. March 28: Drove to the physical location for warranty service and they determined another new rear windshield would be required to troubleshoot the defroster, but they would call to re-schedule the warranty service because they did not have it in stock. April 11: No calls were received regarding the replacement windshield. They are unreachable by phone. Had to open a dispute with the bank. read more

The people who work at the store are completely incompetent. Truly unacceptably poor service. Messed up my back glass order several times. They let weeks go by and THEN (after 3 weeks) called to say they couldn't order the glass unto they got the a down payment. I gave them a credit card number. They then called twice again to demand the down payment. I told them I had already made the down payment. Totally incompetent. After 5 weeks they finally get the glass and set a service date (today - Jan 26). Repairman is supposed to arrive between 12 and 5. I get several texts (computer generated) throughout the day telling me "Your repairman Juan is on his way!" When he doesn't arrive by 3, I call the store. "He's 30 minutes away". Then he just never shows up. No call, nothing. He was supposed to be here by 5. I call the store again at 5:03 and they've closed for the day. While making an appointments they let you know that there will be a 2-3 hour window. So when I get there they ask me if I'm dropping off my car . Rarely do I ever have service done on my car and leave . I usually always stay . So I told the mechanic I was staying and that I had to be at work for 4 pm . He told me he would try is best to fit me within the time frame. And that's exactly what he did . My car was ready ready by 2:50. My side window was broken into on a Friday afternoon, the earliest appointment I could schedule was for Monday. The technician arrived 2 hours after my scheduled time frame claiming he didn't have the right window and he would need to reschedule me. Fine. The second guy called me the following day morning to say they didn't put the window in his truck so he would need to go back to the warehouse and get it AFTER everyone. SMH, no thank you. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received. My experience has been plagued with issues. I was told it would take 5-6 hours to get my car back after my first visit to the store. Then, during a scheduled onsite visit to replace the glass, I wasted 2 hours of my morning only to be informed by the technician that the wrong glass had been sent to my home. When my old glass was placed back on my car it was shattered and cracked even more than it originally was! What started as three cracks on my window turned into completely shattered glass. My appointments have been rescheduled multiple times without a call or message to ask for my availability, and to make matters worse, the price was suddenly increased by $500 without any explanation (the only reason I noticed was because of an automated email I was sent) Reaching anyone for assistance has been nearly impossible--every time I called, I was redirected to someone else. I was at Safelite recently to get my windshield replaced. I had made an appointment to go to the store instead of the mobile service because I wasn't sure how my schedule was going to be. Making the appointment on the website was very easy and smooth. The quote shown was around $200 after a $20 discount I found on RetailMeNot. When I got to the store, the parking lot was tiny. There were only a few angled spots available with a narrow road. When I entered the building, Tony greeted me. He asked, "How are you?" I said the typical response, "Good, and you?" He replied, "Living the dream" and it made me laugh. I was told to wait and feel free to get coffee or tea. The beverage area was next to the vending machine. Then I heard Tony say the same response of living the dream to another customer. It's good that he treats people equally and tries to have humor at work. Since the sofa was already taken and it was pretty torn up, I sat on a chair. Later, an employee named Kevin came up to me with a phone in his hand. He said that he already took pictures and he is going to service my car now. I loved that they update the customers on what's going on. Then later, Kevin came back again and told me that they can't replace my windshield because of the rusts. He said if I want, he can show me what he's talking about. So I followed him to the back area. He showed me where the rust was and told me that he recommends me to go to a body shop to get the rust fixed. After that, they can replace the windshield and they can even go to the body shop to do it so it's done all at once. It's for safety purposes so that the windshield will adhere right. He gave me a suggestion of a body shop to go to, so I went there since it was on my way. I could not afford to fix the rust, so two days later, I went back to Safelite to ask if they can put the top black strip back on the top of the windshield on my car. They did it pretty quickly and were very understanding. Although I was not able to get my windshield replaced, they still provided a good service, which I appreciated. They were honest about the situation and that's rare to come by, especially in Miami. I ended up not having to pay for the service because the windshield was not replaced. The parking was tough. When it gets packed, it's hard to maneuver in. To leave, the driver would have to reverse onto the street, which is dangerous in my opinion. Other than that, the service that I received was good. I'd recommend people to go to Safelite directly. I've never tried the mobile service, but it's because I decided not to due to my schedule, and it's really hot during the summer (and I read reviews that sometimes the employees don't show up). I brought my vehicle to the shop to have my windshield replaced and from the moment I walked in, the service was lousy. On 2 occasions, they asked me a question and made it seem like they were coming right back to proceed with the intake and pick up processes and no one returns They just leave you standing there. I received a text that my car was ready for pick up and when I arrived 15 minutes later, it wasn't. The car girl at the front counter didn't believe me and asked to see the text (which also included my receipt). No one was able to give me a straight answer for about 10 minutes and then they informed me that they needed 15 more minutes for one of the guys standing at the counter doing absolutely nothing to calibrate the car. He stood around a little longer with zero sense of urgency and then slowly made his way to the back. No apology for the misinformation that the car was ready when it wasn't. When I drove off in my car, I needed to adjust the rear view mirror which literally fell right off the windshield. I drove back (thankfully I was only 3 blocks away) and the idiot inferred it was something I did! Really? Of course, he offered no apology. If you're looking for a shop with employees that take pride in their work and offer decent service, look elsewhere because you will not find it here. Morons. read more

They were1jj88uu7uttu always frank in their recommendations, even when they could have taken advantage of my insurance to make a quick buck. Tjeir waiting room had a keuring with a good assortment of coffee and teas. Negatives: Bathroom in waiting area was out of toilet paper and hand towels. Front desk clerk promptly restocked the the bathroom when I brought it to her attention, but it should have been checked periodically. They won't put up a pop ul tent because they are liability conscious in the event that a wind comes and knocks it in to vehicle. This makes it difficult to arrange a vehicle service during the rainy season. Get some weights to secure the tents. read more
