I understand everyone has a bad day but the Customer Service women was Next Level rude. Totally unacceptable. I remained calm and polite. I filtered all the verbiage back to my insurance company. Four days before the inspection sticker expired, I noticed a new 8" crack in the windshield of my wife's car. I called our insurance company and agreed to use one of their preferred windshield installers. We scheduled an installation at my house in two days that would happen on a Saturday morning. The day before the appointment, I got a call from this Giant Glass location to reschedule as there was a prediction for snow on the day of the installation. You can't do an outdoor installation in the snow, so I agreed to bring it to their shop instead. Once I arrived for my appointment, they took my car right in and said it would be about an hour. There were three other people waiting. The waiting area was not fancy but adequate, with stacks of magazines and a tv. A little over an hour later, the job was done and I was on my way. I've had poor windshield installations done in the past by other companies so I inspected the work closely. You could not even tell any work at been done because it was so clean. They even vacuumed the car. The Service Manager, John, was very professional both in his original phone call and when I came in to the shop. When you need your car repaired, you want to be treated respectfully by the repair staff and have a sense that they appreciate your time. The whole experience was pretty painless. An estimate on line was $420 and I thought that it's great that they will come to my house to replace a windshield. But when a technician came he said I have to pay more then $800 for that. I called an office and they said an estimate was just for windshield itself and they didn't know about any insurance, tough on line there was a question as to who pays for a replacement. In the mean time technician left and I was given another appointment. In the middle of waiting time I got a call that they don't have a technician to come to my house and offered me to dome to their shop. I asked to connect me to the office and they said they would call me in a hour. Well, nobody called me from this office. Bad service! I would say no service at all! Steer clear of this business! I had two tiny cracks in my windshield. Safelite came and fixed one. The guy said, "you can still see one of them but it won't get any worse." We'll now the crack is growing. I reached out to Safelite who said, "sorry, it happens. You'll have to replace the windshield and pay for it." Whatever happened to a company that stands by their work? They say they guarantee their work. THEY DO NOT. When this crack takes over mist of my windshield I'll call Giant Glass. It isn't explained that in the Safelite universe, the word guarantee means "an out-of-pocket cost you incurred from the service will be credited towards the windshield replacement". Great. I replaced my windshield on a friday July 26 2022, a few hours later the windshield mirror started hanging, the glue apparently didn't work. So I called them immediately to fix it. They arranged another appointment for Tuesday, according to them they have to order in the part! when I got there on Tuesday they said it was Wednesday! No emails, no txt messages, so again Wednesday 1 pm on the dot I was there punctuality. At 1:45 I found out that they had broken the glass and there was another one on its way. End of history a service that was supposed to take 30-45 mins to be done took me 45 mins plus driving on Tuesday and coming back on Wednesday, I was able to leave at 3:30 pm after 2:30 waiting. No excuses or apologies for the inconvenience. On top of that they charged me 55 bucks to replace the wipers which they didn't the first time..... thank god that glue didn't work. I left Ohio at 11:00am Sunday morning and finally made it to my car parked in Slummaville at 6:00am Monday morning. After 19 hours in a friend's cramped car with 4 other people, a late night/early morning Greyhound from Manhattan to Boston, catching the first T train of the day at South Station, and a cab ride from Davis Sq to my friend's apartment, I find my 'Welcome home' present: a smashed front-passenger-side window and the loose change from my cup-holder missing. Great...because driving up 93 north from Boston to North Andover sans window and with shattered glass up my bottom is EXACTLY what I need right now... I called my insurance company who informed me that I was covered for the damage and would need to call someone to come fix my window. With the "ONE EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY FOUR GIANT" jingle playing over and over in my head as I drove home to shower/change before work at 9:00am, I decided, why not call GIANT? The customer service representative from Giant who answered the phone was wicked nice and wicked helpful. As soon as she answered my call, it was right down to business on when/how to get my window fixed. In fact, Giant was ready to drive over to my house and fix my window right then and there but unfortunately I didn't leave my keys inside the car (which are needed to fix power windows) and I was already at work. So the next day I left my keys hidden inside my car and went off to work. I came home that evening and POOF my window was fixed. Giant called my insurance company handling all the paperwork and claims for me and fixed the window in the flashest of flashes without even bothering me again. All I did was call. They did all the work. Fast. Friendly. Professional. Call GIANT. *And thanks again to the crackhead for stealing my nickles & dimes--I hope some coinstar pocket change was worth smashing my window with a rock the size of a cantaloupe. Don't worry, I just love vacuuming glass out of every crevice that I didn't know even existed in my car...you should be killed. read more

Windshield replacement done in an hour however noticed the hood of my car had several scratches where they pulled the old wipers off. Called - guy said scratches were there and he took a picture for proof that they were there before I dropped the car off. Impossible. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! I've had my windshield replaced perhaps 4-5 times in the past 20 plus years and have never had a problem . I recently had to have mine replaced and wasn't sure who to call so (unfortunately for me) I just dialed 1-800-54giant because of their ad and since I live in MA and have glass coverage I can go anywhere. Besides the fact that I'm 99% sure the first "tech" who replaced the windshield stole a winning scratch ticket from my car, two days later I'm in the highway and a 3 foot piece of rubber insulation comes flying off the windshield banging up against my drivers side window. NOT a fun experience at night going 70 mph. Won't even get into the conversation I had with the company when I called at that moment. So today a different "tech" shows up and said the prior guy forgot to adhere adhesive to that side of the windshield. You kidding me??? I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY IN ANY SITUATION!!!!! read more
