save the money and go somewhere else.while traveling out of state had a tech come to replace the rear windshield. after a few moments he informs me that we need to move the vehicle forward for better access, which we do and gave the keys back to the tech. 20 minutes later he informs us that we need to remove a cargo carrier off the vehicle but he can't find the keys and now can't replace the windshield. spoke with the manager to resolve the issue with the lost keys and the windshield still needing repair. She tells me it's policy not to issue refunds (mind you the work was never performed) but she will speak with her superior. The next day after giving some time for them to call, I have to reach out to them. Then am told that they will only either refund the window or replace the keys That their tech lost. So now I'm out $400 to have keys overnighted from out of state and to replace the lost set. the manager is clearly incapable of managing this branch from mine and others experiences. Will never use Safelite again. Will always use the pen to get a quality repair and product. read more

Oh bummer. On a cross country road trip in our Corvette and just outside of Souix Falls we heard a rock hit hard. And there was that chip on the front windshield. I immediately searched for a Safelite location in Souix Falls and found this one. Hooray! We drove to the location and a guy there said he could get it taken care of in about 30 minutes. Wow! That's service. The nice lady behind the desk submitted something to our insurance company and there was no charge. Free of charge is awesome! Everyone was super nice and we were back on our way within about 45 minutes. read more

Austin (GM?) and other staff were well intentioned - but this shop is not set up for success and/or customer service. Guided by Robert Pirsig and the book, Zen & The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, I was taken back by how the work shop looked and felt; poor layout, disorganized tools, tiny work areas, etc. And the shop itself doesn't have parking and an uncomfortable waiting area. And when I arrived with my van at my appointment time - I was told the garage entrance was too low and I would need to park in the parking lot next door. Assuming this is a franchise location - I would hope that Safelite Corporate would mandate a new garage location/set-up better suited to a reasonable level of customer service. read more

I went in to make my appointment. The conversation was clear that this for a rear windshield on a ford f-150 with a slider. I get quoted about $383. Fine. Set the appointment. I drop the car off and they call me a few hours later and can't service the truck because they ordered a front windshield. The appointment gets rescheduled for the following Tuesday because they don't can't tell me if they can get the right windshield in for Monday. Then the kicker. The price is now $763. No apologies. No discount for their failure. I take the truck back and get the windshield replaced and when I leave I noted they left the center section coated in some kind of grease that I have to clean off now. I've used safelite from San Diego to Missouri and multiple points in between and this was just bad a customer experience overall. I may use safelite again in the future but certainly this this shop. read more

If I could give a negative 100 stars I would. My husband and I went here and explained that we needed our back window replaced and they quoted us a price so we set the appointment up. My husband gets there and was told that they ordered a front window and my husband explained that it was incorrect and then they redid the quote and now it was 3x the amount that was quoted to us originally. I feel they do this on purpose to get more money from you. Don't go here because you will be robbed. Horrible customer service. read more

I went there a couple of weeks ago. They installed a new piece of glass in one of my display cases in my Nascar concession trailer it was the top piece of glass that was replaced and installed. I noticed today the piece of glass directly underneath the top piece which is my counter for checking people out is got a major crack in it from all the yanking and pressure that they put on the glass on top to remove and replace that top/counter glass cracked the front glass that was directly underneath. read more

Very rude employee. Raised his voice at me and told me i couldnt go through the shop area as i did before to go to the office to pay. He just kept saying no you cant, and no you wont. I said then ill just leave and not pay until next time i come around. He stated o.k. im handicap, had to park and walk in rough terrain. Going all the way to the front door was a hardship. My windshield had a large crack in it from a rock . I was able to get in and fixed with in a few days of calling. The price was great so much less than anyone else about half. This is not the first time I have gone to the Safelite Auto Glass in Sioux Falls. The staff are friendly and courteous. The negative I have is the condition of the store in Sioux Falls, It is in terrible shape and doesn't give a good impression of their business. I provided my keys to the tech and was told that once the job was complete the would leave my keys in the cup holder. However, my door was left open, keys on my dash and a section of my window that was not cracked had four larger than a dollar size cracks. Was not impressed. read more

A rock had cracked the windshield of my car. I contacted Safelite on line to schedule an appointment. It was very easy and super fast. I was able to schedule it all according to my schedule and where I would be. They were very prompt on contacting me with a better time frame the day of the appointment. Tech sends text he's on his way on day of appt. Doesn't show up, no further contact. I call co. Reschedule. They don't know why THEIR tech didn't show. Second appt. No call, no text nothing. They simply don't show up. Another wasted day. Call co. Again excuses. Tech called in sick. Guess they only have one tech. Reschedule. Third appt. Rec'd text from tech. He's on his way. Guess what? He doesn't show. No call, no text nothing. Call co. The tech's truck broke down. REALLY???? Canceled with this company. Called another company and had a new windshield installed the next day. had windshield replaced in November 2022. 3 days later the plastic strip started coming off and had to call for warranty repair. 4 months later it came off again. drive it to the shop to get repaired again. We inspected the car in the parking lot before taking it home. Noticed all kinds of scratches around window in the paint. Took it to a body/glass shop to get estimate. They told us that the scratches were from the knife that was used to remove glass. $2800 in damages and the shop refuses to take responsibility or fix the damage they caused. My front passenger window was vandalized the Safelite tech put on a window wrap so I can get back to the state I live in and have it fixed there. The Safelite tech only vacuumed 1/4 of the glass I still have glass in the front and backseat, console, and floor. Unfortunately, the Safelite tech at fault is putting this on the Safelite tech coming to fix the window. I was told by the Safelite tech that's fixing the window that the track on my window was stripped so I needed a new track not sure how this would have happened since my window was working properly (up and down motion) beforehand. The vadal who did this is on camera and he spent but 5 seconds at the window, Hmm - red flag. Both receptionist and tech were very rude right from the get-go all because I had them open the garage door instead of parking a block away to walk into the building on icy sidewalks which I have a disability and issues with walking, god forbid a lawsuit. I prepaid for a windshield. I received three emails telling me I'm on the books for an appointment for home service and an email telling me the work was complete, but nobody showed up to replace the windshield and i still don't have a windshield. I was scheduled for 8 am to 12 pm and after 12 someone called telling me they had to go to another town in SD and would be back by 3:30 pm, they never showed up or called. Friday, May 21 I called and got the Sioux Falls store manager who said they cant get me on their schedule for Friday. I told them i will be going somewhere else and refund my money, he said it will be 3-4 days to refund me. I am now going to have to spend more time going elsewhere and i have to wait for my money to be returned before i can get a new windshield. This is not the service I had from Safelite in the past and i will not be returning since Safelite's mistake is costing me hours of time and money, not to add the frustration and vagueness of service issues. I'm glad the rest of you had great service because they completely, totally muffed it for me. First I had to wait two weeks for an appointment. Then, the day of my appointment, I got a text at 8:30 am that the time window had been changed from 12-5 to 8-12 *that same day*. Scrambled to make myself available because I wasn't waiting another two weeks for a giant crack that was already unsafe and creeping every day. Noon came and went with no tech showing up, calling or texting. I called the only number on their website, a national contact number. Then the story started changing: I wasn't there (oh yes I was), the tech couldn't find the car, the tech was running late. I finally asked for and got the local Sioux Falls number and called it. It was none of that BS. The tech had called in sick. The guy claimed he'd left me a voicemail (oh no you didn't). Great, when can I be rescheduled? Another TWO WEEKS. I lost a nut. Then I hung up, called Glass Doctor, got in the next day, AND they charged me more than SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS LESS than the Safelite goons charged me. Yep, that was the other insult: Safelite charged my CC for $1049 the day I made the appointment, not the day of service. That's not a misunderstanding or exaggeration: Safelite was less than $300. -3/10, would not be caught dead patronizing this company. read more

i had them comeout to my house on 7-21-15 to install my front window in my 2015 ford focus and the guy named Denen came out and put it in and that took 2 hrs which I knew it would. Then the next day when I went to use my car I noticed the outside molding clip was not clipped in and also there was a part on the inside that was not attached correctly also I had noticed there was a big chip in the front windshield up in the way left corner and also the molding strip on the bottom of the wind shield was not connected , so I called them and was told to bring it in so I did and talked to darrold and he rescheduled me to come in on 7/28/15 so I did and again denen worked on the windshield again and this time they called me after a hour of working on it saying that they couldn't fix the windshield cause the molding on the bottom of the windshield was not going on so they said they would have to order a new windshield specifically for my car from ford and so when i came and picked up me car i spoke with the lead tech shane who was very polite and understnding and at that time i requested that denen not work on my car so then they scheduled me once again for a appointment on 8/1/15 at 1pm and on 8/1/15 I received a call from them at 9:30am and the tech told me that the molding was not in from ford and that they couldn't install my window once again and when I asked him when it was gonna be done he said he had no idea. so today 8/3/15 at 8:15am I called safelite and spoke to shane and told him what had happen on 8/1/15 and he was confused cause as far as he knew the winsheild was done and when he put me on hold he said he found the molding and windshield and they are right there and he had asked the tech from 8/1/15 why wasn't it put in on 8/1/15 and the tech told him that he couldn't find it so that's why it wasn't installed and I asked shane if they get truck on weekends and he said no and when he left on Friday 7/31/15 at 4pm it wasn't there yet and they have not received truck yet on this date of 8/3/15 so it did not come in today. I as a customer am very disappointed upset and annoyed and frustrated with this as this is the fourth or fifth time I have had to schedule a appointment with these guy to fix my windshield that should have been fixed two weeks ago.....I will never use these guys again ever and I will be letting every person I know about how bad my experience was... this is terrible customer service in my eyes... read more
