This gym may not the state of the art equipment that an LA fitness would have. However, it has absolutely everything you need to get in an excellent workout. It's two stories. They have scheduled workout classes you can take. They have plenty of after school programs for the kiddos and an area for small children to play while there parents work out. They have Year round tennis and golf. During the summer they have a pool with an on duty life guard. Overall, I highly recommend if you live in the Meade County area.

I don't think our son is any closer to learning how to swim than when he started. There are much older kids in our group lesson doing the same routine week after week. All the instructors seem to be very young - most are enthusiastic and helpful, but some lack personality and a drive to teach the children. You can only schedule a week at a time, which presents many issues as you can imagine. They're frequently booked solid; makeup lessons are a joke. Once you join, you also have to give a month's notice to cancel. This place is just terrible. Do not recommend whatsoever.

My son is normally pretty slow to warm up to new adults and he took right to Mr. Will. Their lesson went really well and my son was excited to go back! While we were waiting in the lobby, several of the staff came up and talked to us. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. At the very least no one looked like they were trudging through the day. Lastly, the entire building was meticulously clean and comfortable. I can honestly say that exceeded my expectations. The fitness room is filled with weights, treadmills, ellipticals, rowing machine, bicycles. I frequent the "silver sneakers" classes led by Anne (no silver sneakers membership required). The staff is friendly and helpful. The facility is well maintained and the membership is very reasonable. One can also pay per program or pay a day rate. With the hot weather in the summer, and cold, rainy seasons, I find this is the perfect solution for health and fitness.

This review is solely based on the schools out camps over holiday break…read more I signed my child up for camp and we were very excited about the program so I even shared with two other parents - who in turn signed each signed their children up. One child was 6, while mine was 5, but I called ahead and spoke with a kind lady who just returned from maternity leave, she confirmed the 6 yr old could join my kids 5 yr old class. Here's why it was so important that the 6 yr old join the 5 yr old class, this child medically can not get in any public pools, and the 4 and 5 yr olds do not have pool time so this worked out wonderfully. At the first day of camp, we again reminded them about the situation. Howecer, they didn't listen and had the child in the 6 yr old class, the child was terribly upset when the entire class got to swim. This all could have been avoided if they listen to our communication. My child did have a good time running around all day, but the point is that the breakdown of communication is scary and untrustworthy when dealing with a medical child.

This facility is situated next to the Ohio River floodwall and within view of the Sherman Minton Bridge in the downtown area. There are large parking lots on either side of the building with free access. The facility has large locker rooms, a lap pool, heated pool, and children's splash pad and fun water slides. Upstairs area has fitness machines, free weights, classrooms, and a walking track. This is my least favorite track of the local YMCA facilities visited because it is a quarter track and makes my ankles hurt with any worthwhile distance (more turns per workout). Large windows and expanses of glass make for a mood lifter when working out, so this plus balances out any minuses. Reception staff are very helpful and friendly.

I know when I make a reservation that I'll have a lane when I show up. The parking is super convenient and the staff is always so helpful. This is one of the best branches in the Louisville area!
