I've gotten CPR training from Red Cross twice now through work. Each time they came to prison in…read moreperson, CPR classes in the office, which made our experience very memorable. Both time I got training for CPR were with Bryan and he's amazing with capturing our attention and making the stressful content seamlessly engaging and entertaining. Each certificate consists of 2 portions. The first period is an online training program that is 3-4hr and needs to be done prior to in-person training, which also requires full attention to answer and pass the online assessment. I recommend trying your best to pass the pre-assessments which allow you to skip the whole content of each modules, and there are 8 modeles for adult and pediatric certificate. The second portion is about 2.5-3hr of in-person practice CPR, which is quite exhausting. I suggest you have a good meal or bring coffee. This portion allows me to practice live situation of how to perform CPR, use AED machine and how to help saving adults and children in different kinds of life threatening situations. I definitely recommend taking your in-person portion with Bryan. He's funny but stern, and he has more than 20 years of experience teaching all sorts of CPR classes. He's a gem!

As…read morea healthcare provider completing the healthcare provider recertification course, however, I expected a much more rigorous hands-on practice / training / competence demonstration session. While the instructor was very helpful and supportive of individuals in the class, the expertise the instructor needed to train at the healthcare provider level was questionable, and there were several multi-responder scenarios that were skipped entirely. I do not believe this is consistent with what the American Red Cross would endorse, and hope there is a quality control / continuous improvement plan in place. In short, the course training was very much aligned with a basic lay provider CPR course, despite the course being marketed for healthcare providers and the content in the online didactic portion being excellent / aligned with the more advanced training expected when signing up for the course. American Red Cross - please monitor the companies you subcontract with for quality, and subcontracted companies (in this case, Focus Health CPR), please do a better job of monitoring quality. Peoples' lives are, literally, on the line.

A week or so after signing up with my school district, I received an email from a random person at Air Tutors without telling me anything about why I'm receiving an email and just stating what week sessions will begin. The email came from a Hunter Shelburne with a profile picture that looks more like it belongs on Facebook rather than a professional company. After inquiring what the email is about, only then did he explain that this was for my son. Even then, he didn't explain it was a special leadership session through the PVPUSD Gate program. I had to put two and two together. Anyhow, he explained more details about session times and assignments would be forthcoming. Nothing ever came. On 3/22 at 3:55pm I get an email from Tynisha Lewis saying "your" session is about to start. I'm a CFO, I don't need tutoring. At least get the emails right and have some details in the email. Something like, attendee's name, session name, program affiliation, would all be helpful. Also, how is it, we never received session dates and times until 5 minutes before the session??? Of course, I'm in meetings and don't see the email. I get a text from an unknown number at 4:30pm for a tutoring session. Again, no important details. When I realized what this was about, I asked when my son's sessions are and the texter said right now. Here I am 20 minutes later at 4:50pm and I still don't know if this is a one time session, when other sessions are, etc. This company did a terrible job in communicating as to detract from an otherwise great Gate experience with PVPUSD so far. If you are a parent or a school district, think long and hard about what this company's operations will do to the image of your district. It's difficult enough for parents to juggle all of their kids' activities, we don't need stuff thrown in minutes before they're taking place to add to the stress. Junk company.

I left confident that if need be, I can do this. Perhaps the site is being reconfigured? Found message: "This account has been suspended. Contact your hosting provider for more information." Until aforementioned issue is resolved, best to call to schedule essential training in CPR/AED, BLS, First Aid, Blood Born Pathogens (required for OSHA workers) or schedule an outreach event for your business or family @ (310) 281-2753 because when you do, it's the right thing to do... The…read moreMECN program is a masters entry clinical nursing program for those who have a bachelors in a non-nursing field and who would like to become a registered nurse. The program prepares you to sit in the the NCLEX and to become a clinical nurse leader. The program has been good so far but has room for improvement ! The faculty is great and really have a desire to help the students learn. The school is ranked #12 for the APN program and they also have a great program for BSN's.

They not only avoided providing instructions on what setting was required for the online exam (until I was already on a video call about to start the exam), but also had me wait a full 3+ weeks (aka the maximum amount of time they say you will receive your results by) before letting me know AFTER I contacted them to follow up that they NULLED MY EXAM. I did not even receive an explanation as to why it was nulled- they simply forwarded an email to me to let me know something was wrong and that I would not be refunded ANY of my $200. As someone applying to graduate school, and studying for years for this exam, I was incredibly dissatisfied by the lack of organization, communication, and scamming conducted by UNAM Los Angeles. I would NOT recommend this institution to anyone looking for a proctored exam or any kind of timely, respectful communication.

The fee might be more than it would be at a community college, but the classes are small and intimate. So you can't really hide; you're forced, albeit gently, to learn. Fernando taught the Spanish class I was in and he is also the coordinator for their language program. I understand that he and the other teachers actually have linguistics degrees and are likely over-qualified to be teaching basic Spanish. Nonetheless, Fernando was extremely enthusiastic; somehow, he was able to identify where you are weak and push you to develop in those areas without making you feel lost or slow. Highly recommended.
