As a teacher, I'm comfortable teaching a lot of things--but teaching my own child to drive was definitely NOT something I was looking forward to! When it came time for behind-the-wheel lessons, Dan, my son's instructor, was absolutely fantastic. He even allowed me to ride in the backseat during the lessons so I could learn how to better support my son when he was driving with me. Dan was incredibly patient, took the time to explain everything thoroughly, and did a great job putting my son at ease (even while I was white-knuckling it in the backseat! ). He gave him the confidence and skills he needed to become a safe, capable driver. A few weeks ago, my son took his driving test--and passed with a PERFECT SCORE! Not passionate about teaching, and seems to not be passionate about driving in general. My relative then switched instructors to Mayela. Mayela's car was a tad outdated and kinda dirty on the inside.
