This is a nice store with plenty of options and well stocked shelves. We dealt with a store manager…read morethat would bend over backwards to accommodate. We also ran across a few very helpful individuals and one totally useless boob. It happens. Unfortunately, their meat department is screaming for help. The selections weren't there, some product was old and required rotation, but it just wasn't anywhere near where other meat producers are. They have good deals on certain items. Other than that, the prices are very high. Stick with the items on sale as much as possible. Maybe another grocer for your weekly staples. 09/22

A neat little shop that just about has it all. The prices are pretty good, too!…read more Sadly, I'm a big snacker. So when I found a few obscure chips and goodies that I haven't seen in years, I went overboard. Then there were the toys for the grandkids, the knickknacks and a few clothing items we felt we needed. Couple that with the groceries and other household supplies we originally went there to buy and we might well be their new favourite customers. As you can imagine the staff are very welcoming and appreciative. They strike me as the type that always smile. What a wonderful thing. They do have a lot to smile about. A seemingly successful business, plenty of friends visiting, plus they provide a valuable service to the community. What we didn't buy this trip is on our list for next time! Our time in 100 mile House has ended. Thanks to Red Apple we have plenty of goods and foodstuffs for our venture to Whitehorse! 09/22

Cariboo Growers sells foods primarily from the Cariboo and BC. It's your go to place for all things…read morefresh and local. You can find everything from local honey to tons of meat options from Cariboo ranches (smoked First Nations dip net salmon/ blocks of bacon/ roasts/ steaks/ rabbit, etc) and fruit and veggies galore. I'm partial to Kimmy D's chocolate and Puddle Produces microgreens in the winter. They are also stocked with fresh BC apples in the winter. Winning!! Open year round. Worth the visit for locavores and people who want really fresh food from your neighbours.

Extremely noisy due to music. Manager is often seen freaking out at the staff in front of customers. Manager was caught price gouging once before and continues to do so. Floors are covered in smeared fruit and the bathroom constantly emits a strong oder out into the store. 2 of my family members work/worked there and both constantly talk about how the staffing situation keeps getting worse and that the employees are treated terribly by the Manager. Wish we had other options to go to but it's the only grocery store in 53km from here.

We LOVE this shop! It's a super addition to what's already in SP village area. So great for quality…read moregrocery items - and delectable treats (chocolates, olives, crackers, tapenades, etc.)...and pre-made meals. Here are a few things we have tried: Soups: Tomato basil soup (tied for #1 favorite with mushroom soup) - tomatoey goodness. Would be super with a grilled cheese. Mushroom soup - creamy mushroom soup with tons of mushroom pieces. Very tasty. Coconut Thai squash - just OK, IMO. Given the other choices, I wouldn't get again. Freezer section: Vegetarian lasagna: Tasty. We needed to cook longer than our 45 minute oven (at 375), so make sure you heat it enough. Would definitely get again. Healthy goodness. Tiramisu is a BIG winner (even after a couple days in our fridge). It was the perfect Tiramisu - with just the right amount of liqueur (not too wet, which I hate). YUM. Lunch specials: Mexican Pork Bowl (WOW!): Beautiful vegetables (multi-colored peppers, onion, corn, cabbage) over pulled pork (yum) over potato...with a nice light "slightly spicy" cream sauce. BIG winner! Deli and counter: Cheddar Jalapeño Meatloaf sandwich: tasty with meatloaf sliced thin. Has a nice crunchy pickle (or is it jalapeño?). Not spicy. Would get again. Jamaican Hand Pie: nice pastry. We got this when we got the Mexican Pork Bowl (it paled in comparison), but wasn't bad! Chicken Cordon Bleu (take and bake): just OK. Felt the chicken seemed a little dry (but I think CCB is almost always dry). GREAT selection of cheeses! Yum! Produce: Great produce section (nice pretty display, perky vegetables, and fresh). Frozen meats are great quality! We will be back again and again. Check this place out!

I was charged 18.19 due to the previous customers purchases somehow being added to my bill. The cashier at the time could not figure out how to do a refund. I returned the next day to talk to her boss, and he assured me he had refunded it to my card. We are from the coast and I had no access to my online account. Once home I checked and the refund was not made. Not a large amount but not good enough that the refund could not be done at the time of purchase. Staff should be taught how to make transactions and refunds if working on the cash register. My mistake too, for not checking my bill before paying!! Lesson learned!
The general stores in this area are a lot of fun to visit…read more They are often hubs of the area, drawing in locals with its one stop shopping approach to life, similar to a mini Costco. Inside there is even a little cafe area with small tables, nice! And after doing some shopping, feel free to browse the liquor section for something to take home. This is the kind of place that I could hang out for a few years at. Satisfying.
