We live out of town but come to Clear Lake quite a bit and this Safeway is the best around. Trevor that is in the meat department went out of his way to acknowledge me when I was waiting and he was in the middle of helping another customer. They gave us a starbucks in the safeway so gotta give them that. That said safeway is the priciest store in the County. The bakery keeps me going bavk but safeway isnt on our list of daily or even weekly trips because of their prives. Staff is very nice though amd they are always clean read more

Do NOT order online. Ordered party food 3 days out with a confirmation only to be told 1-1/2 hrs b4 the party they never received my order! No one available to make 2 quick fruit & veggies trays. So ok I made it to Lakeport without any mishaps such as speed traps etc. etc. There are two large grocery stores here. Safeway and Bruno's. Here at the Safeway store it took me 10 minutes due to some very poor stocking skills on someone's part. I had to move a few things around but found what I was looking for. This store had 3 bottles of 2003. That makes 8+2+2. read more

Wife and I usually stop for Safeway food, so we stopped here at the lake port one for the first time... And it was probably the best Safeway deli ever! Nice lady helped us and she made two nearly perfect sandwiches. Worth the stop! read more

Not enough cashiers! SELF CHECK MACHINES NEED TO GO! RIP THOSE OUT AND HIRE REAL PEOPLE! The lines were ridiculous at 9:30 a.m. on a thursday! Self check buttons sticking and running slow as a snail! I will avoid shopping here if at all possible. In general safeway as a corporation is being greedy as hell, not caring one bit about the customer or the local economy by understaffing and relying on machines to do the work of people. Totally saved us money on sodas and chips for our board meeting! The cashier was really nice and we were out of there fast.

The cashier Sarah, short lady dark hair, extremely RUDE!! Every time I come in here to the point I will almost always avoid her checkout line! If you hate your job that much just quit sheesh!! She REALLY needs a lesson in customer service for someone who has worked there for sooooo long (as she one time rudly exclaimed to me when I asked her a question about the price of a sale item once). Ah Safeway. I have shopped here off and on for 23 years and much more recently after Brunos went to complete garbage. Using just4u you can get some decent deals. Safeway isn't cheap most of the time. However, the employees tend to be quite nice. I'm not giving it five stars because they are missing items that I want to buy like real watermelons instead of those seedless monstrosities, chinese five spice, and a better asian foods selection. The deli is EXPENSIVE for what they offer. Besides that, a good place to go shopping. read more

Went to Safeway in Lakeport on Sunday morning to pick up prescription. I've been doing my shopping at Costco in Ukiah or Marval Sentry in Nice since Covid started. Let me just say, Safeway in Lakeport isn't handling it as well. About half of the employees weren't wearing masks and they were letting customers in without masks, even though they're now required in public. One worker in particular was having a meltdown in a row where she was stocking shelves, loudly complaining that she was going to lay on the floor because she couldn't breathe with her mask on. A customer had evidently made a comment about her not wearing it, so she was having a fit about it claiming she was so upset she was shaking. Making enough of a scene as to require two other employees to come over and check on her. As an "essential" worker myself, I have empathy, but pull yourself together lady. We're all uncomfortable, but we're looking out for each other and doing it anyway. You're in an air conditioned building putting food on shelves, you're going to survive. If you need a minute, step outside and calm down. No need to freak out the rest of the store because you're irritated and inconvenienced because you're expected to do something everyone else in the state is also doing. And, thank you Costco and Sentry for your professionalism! Also, the employee at the Safeway pharmacy was great. read more

It's been awhile since I've been to this Starbucks in Safeway but recently it's been short staffed and the girls back there argue with each other all the time it seems. I miss when I think her name was Tanaya worked there despite having a long line and all the grumpy customers Tanaya always had a smile on her face and made my drink every time I went excellently! She was amazing and fast too. Where did she go? I think she should come back and take care of the place like before. I don't know how this new manager is handling everything with all the girls arguing and stuff but Tanaya was a problem solver and I definitely would go back more often if she was back. She was basically the second manager when the original manager wasn't there back when she worked there.. (If her names not Tanaya sorry I don't know for sure she had long brown hair and was kinda tall) read more

We are new to the area and tried a few other grocery stores, never heard of them but they were close. Then we saw that there was a Safeway.... Well after today's first and last vist standing in line at the meat counter nobody even said Hi, we'll be right with you, nothing so we walked away and getting to check out with 3 items ( one being beer so we couldn't use the long self check line) we stood in the 1 of 3 open registers at 5:20pm for 10 mins listening to them page people to check and nobody comes. The 2 people who were in front of us might of had 5 items so it wasn't big orders it was the checker! The people who were behind us said oh its that lady and the husband said but all the other lines were long. None of the other lines were going fast because they had big orders. I'd rather drive to one if these other stores or drive 30mins to the Ukiah Raleys where it would of been faster for sure and better service. You really need to train you store team that at "dinner hour" or "peak times" your customers would love to come in and out! I will not be one of those customers like I said at the beginning ever again. I give this location four stars because it my preferred spot in Lakeport to shop. It has your typical Safeway deals with many different options to chose from. I do find the "Club Card' and "Just for You" programs to be spotty, meaning sometimes they don't show the discounts on the sales receipt!! Also one "Perk" of Safeway is Gas Points.. I wasn't going to write a review, but when I called I was on hold 4 times and then disconnected, so I guess they would prefer a yelp review rather than a call. This store is run horribly! They are always out of stock of sale items and often out of stock of regular items. It is impossible to get someone on the phone. I bought vegan cookies. They were hard as rocks and it hurt my tooth when I bit into it. I bought a sourdough bread from the bakery and it had burnt black stuff on the bottom. Horrible quality control! I always ask the customer service people to let the manager know about any issues and when i call the manger they have heard nothing. The customer service people aren't very friendly and clearly couldn't care less about passing on complaints to managers, so the same problems keep happening over and over. read more

Wow... What a big grocery store! It started out very small and now they have everything you can think of. It is huge for this small community. They have a very large deli, bakery, butcher block meat counter, pharmacy, flower shop and many check stands so there never is a wait. The only problem is the parking. They have a very small parking lot so be ready to park far away. read more

I was extremely disappointed when I called the Lakeport Safeway Bakery and tried to place a cookie order! All I wanted was unfrosted sugar cookies for my daughters kindergarten class. The baker informed me that they do not BAKE cookies. Their cookies come to them already baked and frosted so unfortunately they couldn't help me! read more

Many people criticize this place but for me this region would be unliveable without it. How can you survive this kind of heat and intense lack of temperate climate without a spacious place with airconditioning?
