We have used Walgreens for years, and have been satisfied with their service. However, since about…read morefour months ago, Walgreens on W Colorado Ave in Colorado Springs have been drop shipping their prescriptions out of Denver, on demand. The latter system could work in theory, but the following has happened more than once, with U100 Insulin (which is inconvenient/dangerous for customers): 1. Doctor orders prescription 2. Walgreens W Colorado Ave orders 3. Then says it is out of stock and will be delayed 4. They also then have closed unexpectedly for periods of time 5. This has resulted in getting Insulin 2 or 3 weeks after prescribed 6. Then Medicare/Walgreens records this delayed date as the "start date" 7. This may happen again before a 3-month prescription is filled fully 8. Thus, the patient may miss an entire bottle, resulting in no Insulin over a weekend, which just happened to us I don't know if it is just incompetence at the local pharmacy, or Walgreens corporate is intentionally bolstering their centralized stock by skimming off 1/3 to 1/4 of a full prescription. Either way, we've changed to Safeway as our pharmacy. We're sorely tired of this routine.
