We received our vaccines a few days ago. Shortly thereafter we received emails of the vaccination records. The record was attached but in order to view it, one must create an account online. There was another option listed which did not work. I created the account, answered multiple questions and found that there was no record. There was a message that told the reader that pharmacy services would be posted 24-48 hours after the appointment. I waited another two days and went through the same procedure. Nothing. Let's say a nonline account. I visited the pharmacy, talked to the pharmacist of the day. She was kind and helpful after I explained the issue. She printed copies of the vaccine administered and I was done. That took her a few minutes. I wish the other staff had done that to begin with. Shared parking and WiFi. read more

Unsurpassed incompetence. 3 days to fill a common thyroid prescription called in by my dr. ...After 2 days of discussion (it was in stock- in store according to pharm tech), + phone call on the 3rd day... to PLEASE LET US KNOW when its ready. we received a voice message that my prescriptions are ready for pick up- finally. When we go to pick it up... only one of the two is ready - but it is 30min before "lunch" so "sorry, after lunch"... we ask if they could go ahead and fill it BEFORE they go to lunch... "Nope". I have rarely seen this level of incompetence in my life- and with potentially life altering consequences no less! Utterly shocking. Zero stars. Go anywhere else- I should have listened to the other reviewers. read more

I've been a customer here for many years, but my most-recent experience is the straw that broke the camel's back. First, apparently, they changed their notification system that used to text you when prescriptions are ready. Now I have no idea when anything is ready. I'd like to pick up my refills all at once when they're ready. I've inquired to several employees there who confirm my correct telephone number and simply shrug their shoulders saying, "well we went to a new computer system that just isn't as good as the old one." No offer to resolve the issue. They are consistently understaffed as no one seems to want to work there. This makes the few employees that do work there extremely bitter, and this angst is oftentimes acted out in bad behaviors toward customers. Because of this too, I've waited in line for as much as 45 minutes while the one Pharmacist Assistant (or the sole Pharmacist) argues with someone for 10 minutes over whatever the issue is. The line them wraps nearly out the door filled with angry customers. This is how I imagine a Pharmacy operating in Russia! The latest issue is this. A medication I've had for more than 10 years was on automatic renewal with one refill left. It is a "mundane" kind of generic prescription. I always allow at least a week to refill prior to being completely out. Over a week ago, I checked on the automatic refill and the computer told me it was in the process of being filled - ok, great! However, several days later I was (of course not notified) and followed up on when my refill would be ready. Now, the computer system said that they were "awaiting my Doctor's office approval." What??? This was on autmatic refill and I was told it was "in process." Now theyre waiting on the Doctor's office??? Ok, so I called my Doctor's office and told them about what was going on. They assured me they would call the prescription in right away. The following day (now Saturday, and I was going to now be out on Sunday), I went to pick up my prescription. The Pharmacist explained that my Doctor's office called in and cancelled the reneal of my Prescription. I explained that that wasn't right and even showed her the email from my doctor confirming it was refilled. While holding my prescription in her hand, the Pharmacist refused to dispense the needed medication. I asked if she would please give me one pill to keep my medication going as ordered and that I understood that this was a common practice when slip-ups occur. She adamantly refused to do so. I noted that the medication was not a narcotic or a mood ameliorating drug and that I've been on it for almost forever - she continued to refuse. So now, I had to go without my needed, prescribed drug. I asked her to phone my Doctor's office but it was closed on Saturday. She offered to call on Monday to get it filled. She did not do this. Instead, I had to call my Doctor. They were flabergasted that this ocurred and again said they would call the Pharmacy. This is still not straightened out. So, I've completely had it with this sad excuse for a Pharmacy and plan on transferring my prescriptions elsewhere. Sadly, I'll miss Miranda, the one Pharmacist who usually works on Sunday. She always seems to want to be part of the solution, not part of the problem; She's a good person. read more

I transferred from Walgreens because this location is more convenient. Very difficult and not very friendly. Seriously considering transferring back to Walgreens. read more

My usual pharmacy was out of stock so my doctor called my prescription in to this location instead. Unfriendly, unhelpful customer service. It's like I inconvenienced them. read more

I transferred my prescriptions from Walmart, for convenience only. I had a problem, the MD sent a prescription over late Friday afternoon. They were out of stock. I went in Saturday morning and there was one Pharmacist working, no other help. She contacted another Safeway and they were also out. She told me to call around. I found the medication at the CVS and they explained that the electronic script had to be called in by Safeway. Seems there was a glitch and CVS never was able to fill the prescription. I think I'm going back to Walmart as they were wonderful with customer service and filling medications. When I called Walmart they were also out of the medication. I guess it is a supply chain issue. The Pharmacist who tried to help was doing the best she could. I just think you need adequate staffing to provide good customer service. read more

This Pharmacy is the worst place in Arizona to get your percriptions filled and anything else you need from this pharmacy/ Long wait time. no sense of ergency. very un friendly. Go anywhere else but here. Gary Chapman I would give them zero stars. read more

I called the Safeway pharmacy at the Summit (Scottsdale Rd at Ashler Hills) to confirm they had the shingles vaccine in stock. The women with whom I spoke said they did and to come in after 11:30 (due to a meeting that day they would not be giving vaccinations until after 11:30) but before 5 pm. I arrived at 4 pm and was told by a very rude employee that they were only giving the vaccine to people who needed the 2nd shot. I explained to her that I had called and nobody told me this- only that the vaccine was available. She said "well if I had taken that call I would have told you that we are saving our supply for people who need the 2nd shot". No apology, no attempt to find a solution. Needless to say I will not be shopping at any Safeway store or pharmacy in the future. This company used to provide really great service. Clearly that is no longer a priority. read more

I would give zero if I could. Incompetent and rude. Had appointments for covid 2nd shot and the woman was so rude behind the counter. Immediately told us they didn't have Pfizer when that is not what we were there for. Didn't seem to know how to work a computer and fumbled around for ten minutes trying to locate our appointments which were verified. We then sat there for an hour while the nurse sat in her office with no patients. Not to mention she had a horrible cough which did not instill confidence. We then left and had to deal with rude woman again to get our insurance cards back. They were also way behind on everyone's scripts but apparently didn't notify them since they were all waiting. read more

Totally questionable experience, pharmacist requests my new insurance card and social security number. Medicare has terminated use of social security numbers several months ago and all other pharmacies and doctors accepted this card immediately. The saga continues... as a telephone promise was made to administer two vaccines, one in each arm on a first come first serve basis. The very next day I was first in line, but 45 minutes later was still unattended. Finally, they informed me that one vaccine was unavailable and I would simply have to "keep trying". They attempted to hustle me into a shot I didn't want. I decided these individuals were unprofessional and certainly very confused, best not to trust them on what they were injecting. read more

Incompetent. Each month I call in the request for a refill. Each month I get an automated message telling me the RX is ready to be picked up. When I go in the pharmacist tells me the drug is out of stock and needs to be ordered. The order then takes another 24-48 hours to fill. Even then I have to call again to see if it's ready. Apparently they are too busy to call to let me know it's finally filled. There is no excuse for this to happen month after month considering it's supposed to be on an automatic refill. Yes, it's on an automatic refill and I still have to call. Makes me wonder if they are putting the correct drug in the bottle. read more

We just moved to Scottsdale and we have to use Safeway because of our insurance, but the experience has been great! The pharmacy staff (and especially the manager) have been very helpful and have followed up on prescriptions for us), they gone above and beyond! read more
