The staff seem bored, are unfriendly, and aren't uninterested in helping their customers. What finally prompted me to write this review was the restroom. It was absolutely disgusting: no toilet paper, urine on the floor, feces on the toilet, and even feces in the trash can. It was one of the dirtiest public restrooms I've encountered. The rest of the property isn't much better. The parking lot is always covered in trash, and the store itself is dirty and poorly maintained. The entrance is often blocked by people camped outside with large amounts of belongings, making it difficult to get in and out of the store. During my most recent visit, there was loud music playing while people were asking customers for money. I just wanted to pick up my prescription and leave. Overall, this store needs serious attention to cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service. It's GROSS!

I always remembered it to be a friendly, family oriented place that I looked forward to going to with my mom. Well I recently moved back to town and things have taken a turn for the worst. Staff are rude, unhelpful, and have an extremely entitled attitude. There was ONE woman who was actually trying to be helpful, but the other staff (two younger girls) bashed her down and acted like she was dumb for asking questions and trying to help me. I tried SIX TIMES over the course of a week to get my prescription and they kept giving me the run around. By the 8th day of trying, I said forget it and I am going to Sebastopol now. I had every expectation of receiving a vaccination within two minutes of my appointment time just like every other CVS I've been to. At exactly my appointment hour I started observing the pharmacist. At three minutes after the appointment hour, she put on her jacket. At five minutes after the appointment hour, I asked how long it would be. She came over and she said it will be a few minutes and I said it's five minutes after the appointment and she said yes I start at the appointment time. She refused to tell me how much longer it would take. By the way, you have to mix two vials together, so it was at least another 12 minutes, not a hard answer. The question is whether she was late, or lazy, or it was a power play, or she didn't know how to prepare the vaccine. Kind of doesn't matter I left without the vaccine. I've used other CVS before and they were awesome. Do not go to the CVS for vaccines.

I called to make sure they were ready and was told they were out of one of them. Got a call from my doctor checking in on me and I told her what was going on and she said she would change the pharmacy to Walgreens. I called them to see if they had my Rx ready and they said they did not have the formulation of the 40mcg one but they had 80mcg in stock ( I was to take two puffs of the 40mcg one anyways) so problem solving she got in touch with my doctors office and made it happen. I got there and it turns out that Safeway had already billed my insurance and I was not able to get them filled. She said that she would have the other tech call over to Safeway to have them back out of it and then they would be able to finish the transaction. Went back about 40 minutes later through drive through this time since I had made sure my insurance was updated with Walgreens before I left. Still expensive but it was very considerate that they made the contacts to both my doctor and the other pharmacy to try and expedite me receiving my inhalers.

On February 16,…read more2026, shortly after moving from Massachusetts to California, I visited this location to transfer a prescription from a CVS in Massachusetts, a process that should have been straightforward. Because the prescription had expired, I contacted my provider in Boston, who promptly sent a new prescription to CVS in Massachusetts which had to be transferred here in CA. I spent nearly four hours at this pharmacy, during which staff repeatedly gave me incorrect information, claiming that "laws and restrictions" prevented the transfer. This was not true and appeared to mask an inability to process the transfer correctly in their system. When I contacted the CVS in Somerville, MA, they confirmed the prescription had already been transferred to this CVS on Mendocino Ave, CA. A nearby CVS also confirmed they could not assist because the prescription was stuck in this store's queue. Having run out of this medication and unable to obtain it due to this delay, I was forced to seek care in the ER. The lack of competence and accountability at this location is alarming, especially given that similar complaints seem common. I have since transferred all my prescriptions to Walgreens.
