Both of the pharmacists have gone above and beyond for me as a patient. I am on a prescription that requires constant attention and interaction with my pharmacist. I have found that I am considered a nuisance, and I am judged by other pharmacies. David (and the other pharmacist, I can't remember his name) are extremely compassionate, I feel that they are genuinely concerned with my well being rather than judging me. They have fought with me (against medi-cal) every step of the way, and I will literally follow them wherever they go (if they leave cvs ...please don't!) I have seen David pay for a patients medication out of his own pocket, while the patient was screaming at him. He has walked prescriptions out to me in the snow, when I couldn't get my two babies out of their car seats. We are lucky to have such a wonderful rx staff in our little town. I hope they stick around!

I was in the neighborhood so dropped by to see if they'd received it (more efficient than working my way through the automated phone prompts). I was polite and measured as I gave the clerk my info. After she looked for my prescription without finding it, instead of telling me, "Sorry, I can't find it; please step over there and someone else will be with you," she instead said, verbatim, "Nothing here. Go over there. Next customer!" (One, maybe two, customers were in line behind me.) I had to ask several times for her to clarify what she meant (Was I done? Should I come back later?). She was just so rude and off-putting but eventually she did tell me that there was someone else who would help me. Such an easy thing to say off the bat! Will not use this pharmacy again. Also: dang, I wish I had read the reviews before having my Rx sent here! Lesson learned.

Village Pharmacy is the opposite. They answered the phone promptly, processed me in-person quickly, answered my questions patiently, were friendly and knowledgeable. They accurately estimated the time to fill the scripts, and I got an automated text once the scripts were ready. They do compounding as well - they are a real pharmacy, not a chain of pill counters. I will definitely go here for all my prescriptions in Incline Village going forward.

My baby is crying. There's literally a box and tape right next to her. She's wanting me to buy a box but it's 4x the size of what I need plus I'd have to buy packing materials to do that. A kind vendor that overheard what happened offered me packing materials. There's not even a way to change the store to somewhere else so I have to ship here. I Walk to a store down the street who also doesn't sell the right size box. The worker at the other store very kindly offered me an inventory box and I got packaging from the kind vendor. ... would've taken the Walgreens employee 30 seconds to help me and no cost to the company to help me out. They have a fully painted parking lot, which is something I've never seen, bars preventing large vehicles from entering, and the architecture of the building itself is out there. I have only been almost squished about 3 times in the last 10 years. Not bad for Reno. CONVENIENCE: They are no longer open 24 Hours. The Pharmacy window is only open 9:00am to 8pm with a half hour closure for lunch. The rest of the store still cares a huge collection of stuff. Items that apparently are "shoplifting magnets" ie most beauty products are now in locked shelves. ATMOSPHERE There seem to be fewer "dodgy" patrons than in the past. Shelves are better displayed and don't seem as cramed. It is clean and well lit. SERVICE: Still pretty slow, and staff has been drastically reduced. I have had no problems with either the pharmacy or the front checkout, it just takes a while. On the plus side, staff are friendly and professional. My insurance no longer covers prescriptions from Walgreens. I just learned that Walgreens is not affiliated with the large third-party Pharmacy Benefit Manager. So the convenience and location have been major factors in me continuing to shop here.
