I get a phone call from Safeway pharmacy, answer the phone say hello and long pause, then hello from a woman and then hangs up. When I called back I get the same voice and I tell her I got a call and she hung up on me. Then proceeds to lie and says she didn't hang up. Finally after asking more questions she says that "my dentist called to get me emergency medication tonight. Then asked if I have a prescription for medication from my dentist. I told her well she is calling me so I must right? Then I asked who the dentist was and she said "Amanda" ----In what world does a dentist ever go by their first name? ----She then tells me "that the dentist gave my name and date of birth, and then she will give the dentist a call okay thank you" SO AGAIN SHE WAS ABOUT TO HANG UP ON ME!!! Decent Safeway located in the neighborhood. Plenty of parking. Service was attentive and prompt. Visited the deli section to grab some snacks and they prepared a fresh batch of chicken strips for me. The health department needs to check the restrooms at the Safeway in Rohnert Park. They are filthy, in need of maintenance and repairs, absolutely disgusting! This is not a seasonal thing- too much use, it has been like this for years. Finally found employee, Nicole, to come to customer service desk, major attitude, dismissive. She told me I need to always take a photo of every item and not clip them. Absolutely the worst supermarket I have been in inside of the first world. I wanted a couple AAA batteries for a flashlight while here on vacation. Eight dollars for 4 AAA batteries. The batteries are kept under lock and key. The aisles are so full of holes (items out of stock) and everything was grungy and dirty. I wanted one tiny lighter for backpacking. My choices were 4 or 8 multipacks kept on the bottom shelf out past the cashiers. At 6:30 AM the parking lot was filled with stray carriages Helter skelter all over the place. The lady helping with batteries apparently did not speak English and was rude and abrupt. The produce section which I walked through smelled like rotten cut flowers and there were massive numbers of empty buckets containing fetid water. It was just a totally disgusting place. The flower department is ALWAYS well stocked and beautiful. Today I went in to find a dozen orange roses and a birthday card. Luckily they had the perfect dozen just for me. I was so happy, since the first Safeway I went earlier didn't have any orange available. I walked in, and boom they were right there, felt like they were singing to me like, Helloooooo, is it me you're looking for? Ha! This location is always clean and organized and the employees are always friendly. I usually use the self check out lane. Either way, I'm always greeted at some point in the store, I swear I can see smiles, It's in their eyes. :) I'd recommend this location to anyone. This review is for the delivery service. I use it regularly and find it convenient and time saving. I guess it's gas saving since I don't have to drive there and I get a gas discount based on the size of my order. Double benefit. On top of that I have found my delivery person is just great, knows my name, and is clearly a hard working guy. My only real complaint is that there is no way to communicate directly to a human being to file a complaint, ask a question in my own words, or, as in my case, register a compliment to a sincere hard working employee. I was kind to the new security lady. I said, "Oh good, I'm so glad they have excellent security in here." She gave me the rudest look. The doors on the right end of the store were locked, and I forgot, so when I turned around to pass her, I was kind, again, and I said, "Ah, doors are locked," and smiled. She snapped at me and said, "There's a SIGN." She must not be happy with her job or her life. That's punishment enough. She could've been kind and said, "Hey that side is locked." But she didn't, and instead she was rude. Be weary of being a kind person at this store. Some of the cashiers are rude, too, this one elder lady in particular. Zero stars if I had a choice. My cashier tonight, an elderly lady, questioned the Dollar Tree bag I had in my basket. I used to do shoplift detail for Safeways in the Bay Area and Sacramento districts for Monument Security. I also did professional, certified interrogation for 6 Flags in Vallejo for years. I've been in the Loss Prevention field, and I know that you can't question someone and ask if they've already paid for items in a bag from a different store. She didn't give me a chance to pass up the point of sale and exit the store before questioning me, and that's one of the elements to the crime of shoplifting. You can't accuse anyone of shoplifting or question if they've paid for items unless you've watched a person approach a display, select an item, conceal it, continue to maintain constant observation WITHOUT losing sight of them (100% observation), and then pass the point of sale and exit the store, without paying. This cashier committed false arrest and violated my right by assuming I stole without her fulfilling the 5 elements to the crime of shoplifting. I had to show her the bag. That's not ok. I'm reaching out to my legal aid attorney and letting her know. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice from Sacramento State University, and I'm not playing around. I've been on foot because I'm staying at a motel and don't have a vehicle. So sue me if I walk into the Dollar Tree FIRST because it's on the way to Safeway. I was just trying to save walking time. Leadership needs to address this ASAP. Having an employee come over to self checkout kiosks and proceed to fill out a store survey as if they are a customer is a really bad look. She did this to multiple people without even saying a word or addressing us & made all of us feel so uncomfortable. I can understand needing good surveys as I also work in retail so I get it. But to lie? So wrong. I also felt as though if the store needed better surveys, they would hire an employee who can talk it up - not fake scores by clicking all of the buttons for us. Where's the integrity!? Considering she won't even speak to any of us, how were we supposed to know she was even an employee? It felt very scammy and I seriously did not appreciate this entire experience. She clearly needs better training on how to address paying customers. Absolutely horrendous cust service. Employees standing around, chatting during lunch rush, ignoring the bottleneck. Mangers- go to Target self checkout. Take notes. Instead of assisting, a woman, w/o saying "hello" or "do you need help?" get's in front of me, totally invading my personal space, places herself between me and the register and says "let's just make sure you rang everything up" and goes through my shopping bag, verbally checking off my items and then moves to my shopping cart, and said "looks like you got everything" and walked away. Never even made eye contact, said thank you, sorry for the confusion or have a nice day. There's actually a right way to do this without embarrassing yourself (or the CUSTOMER) and still be respectful. Textbook way to chase off your PAYING customers. Went in with a photo of a cake at another Safeway location the bakery dept said they would do it set date and time for pick up. Went back a week later to pay for it for this coming weekend and waited 15 minutes to even get a tag to go pay for it up front. The associate did not check what my order was before printing a tag for me to pay with. I hope there isn't a surprise when I pick up the cake. There once was an angry old lady that made sandw iches in the day shift, but she has found other employment it seems. It's truly amazing how one bad seed can make an entire crew toxic. I got a sandwich from the deli side. The lady was kinda rude and rushed me with my order. She didn't walk me through the sandwich and we completely forgot to put the cheese on. Lol I know it's mostly my fault but I feel like she's supposed to ask me some questions as to what I'd like on my sandwich too. At the end I remembered salt and pepper and she visibly huffed and puffed and rolled her eyes and began to take the sandwich apart. I told her it was alright she could just put it on the bread. I waited at the Deli for 15 minutes to buy coleslaw. The ONE attendant was slicing several different packages of meat for a "mobile order" while two of us stood waiting for service. The man in front of me ordered chicken and then two custom sandwiches. The attendant never called anyone to help and by that time there were about 4 more people behind me. I walked off and after paying for my other purchase went to Customer Service to let them know of the situation at the Deli. While waiting I saw THREE "Management" types standing there talking. One came over and made an announcement from the Customer Service phone before even acknowledging me. I told her the issue and she called the manager (one of the three) over to talk to me. When I told him of the long, futile wait at the Deli - he said " No one wants to work". That was his response to me - No I'm sorry; let's see if we can get you some coleslaw - just no one wants to work. I told him that was his problem not mine; he needs to close the Deli if they cannot service customers and that I was never coming back to this store again. I am so sick of his attitude - no customer service at this store. Safeway management must not care about the customer at all. Literally go to any other store in RP except this one. Between the tweakers in the parking lot who are always either breaking into cars or selling drugs to other fellow tweakers ... it's hard to leave your car unattended to even go inside. And once you do, it's a very crammed little store. (Not the stores fault just a weird layout/too many items/isles) Their Western Union is literally NEVER open due to having "low cash" constantly and the lines are crazy long all hours of the day. The employees are rude. No hi or hello they all seem too wrapped up in their own personal drama of why they hate their jobs. They all seem overworked, underpaid and sad to be there. This review is for the delivery only. Safeway absolutely cannot get it together when it comes to delivery. I have had to use their service a few times when I was unable to shop in store myself. So far I have NEVER had one delivery go as planned. This terrible service so far has: - Been over an hour late without even calling - Completely not shown up at all - again no phone call. - Sent items that I never ordered - Sent items that were poor in quality (rotting fruit, bent up boxes) - Made it impossible to communicate to anyone locally to address issues. Their call center is terrible. - This past order on 12/14 they sent me expired cheese! (See photo) Attn: Safeway Management: Where are your PR people? You've got reviews all over the internet calling out your crappy service. How come no response? I have managed logistics call centers for years.
