Several people were gathered outside with bicycles, and one man approached me and started talking about happy hour. Meanwhile, the security guard was walking around and watching the area. The guard's manner toward me did not feel friendly or welcoming, and the overall situation made me uncomfortable. I understand that security personnel need to monitor the property, but customers should still be treated respectfully. Today I went to Oliver's to buy something to take to eat while out at the beach. I wanted a teriyaki chicken bowl. I noticed that they started putting broccoli and carrots in the bowl. I started to ask the person who was making sushi about the added vegetables. I have been buying these chicken bowls for years without the vegetables being in the bowl. I dont like the vegetables in the bowls. I asked the lady who works in the sushi department when they started adding the vegetables ,because I know the last time I purchased them there were no vegetables. Thats when the guy making pizza dough butted in and rudely said that they have always put the vegetables in the chicken bowls . I latter learned his name is Armoni. I told him that I had been buying these chicken bowls for years and no vegetables. The sushi lady said about 6 month ago. Armani insisted it has been for 2 years even after the sushi making lady said 6 months. Armani acted like he knew more that the lady that makes these bowls for the hot food department and like he knows more than a regular customer who has been shopping there since the store opened in this location. He was very rude to me and his fellow worker. He should have minded his own business and stuck to making pizza. Normally the employees are very nice in the Oliver's Market. I do have to give a big thumbs up to I think his name was Trevor. He was the guy who was sweeping the floors. I watched him clean under and behind things with such detailed attention all while having a smile on his face. I hope I got his name correct. I've always been a Whole Foods girl but I've given up on them as things are getting more and more expensive. I feel my money doesn't stretch as far anymore with $100 worth of groceries, it's not much. I've decided to shop local completely at Oliver's. I've noticed overall their prices are a bit cheaper than Whole Foods but certain items can be more expensive (for example Califa farms organic almond milk). $100 here can go much further when I'm stocking up on fruits, salads, bread, pre made items for work etc. I love their rotisserie chickens as well including a NO SALT option! I also signed up for their community card to donate a percentage of your shopping trip to a local organization. I had driven past Oliver's a few times and noticed they featured BBQ on weekends. I love barbecue and had to try it. The folks working there were friendly and provided great customer service. I went for the half rack of pork ribs for $14. I'm afraid they were dry and didn't fall off the bone. I'm glad I gave them a try because I would not have known if I didn't. read more

I have new friends at Oliver's I enjoy spending my lunch in there between the The pizza section is delicious, the bacon ranch slice is my favorite. The guys who work at the cheese counter knows me on a 1st name basis. I have become addicted to the Mocha Freeze coffee beverage. I filled up the card they stamp. When you purchase 9 drinks you get a free 1! I felt honored I reached 9, but asked that they not give me another one. I became highly addicted in the afternoons. This place is more than a supermarket it's my new social. I asked the lady in the plant section to educate me on the care of my succulents, she gladly shared the information with me, I appreciated her. Thank you Oliver's for raising the bar in the grocery retail industry and setting a high standard. Oh and by the way that "Garlic Butter" is made in the bakery there. My Babe prepares our seafood fest with it, crabs, lobster tails and succulent prawns. Hats off to Lorna, the bakery runs smoothly, even when there's a small line for cakes, pastries, bagels & beverages. I'm hooked on the banana bread for life and after. I pay more to shop here. Mostly for their offbeat nature and something different. Was treated quite badly by head cashier(?). A short haired young woman training a cashier. She told me I had to unpack everything from my boxes next time. I mentioned that I asked last week and the cashier told me it makes no difference. She told me " That was wrong", and asked me "what did she look like?" I can get this at Safeway for $20 less. She haughtily removed everything only to have it scanned and placed back in their boxes. I recently ordered food from Oliver's for a party and it was a big hit. We ordered the taco bar for 10 people, a couple of pizzas, and a fruit platter. The ordering process was easy, I was able to modify my order over the phone a couple of days in advance of my event, and everything was ready and perfect when I arrived to pick it up. You can also add things when you arrive. There was plenty of food, reasonably priced for catering, and everyone loved it. read more

Visited the bakery at Oliver's on Valentine's around 730pm and was pleasantly surprised with how they were fully stocked with desserts. We thought that we would be out of luck by that time. Found a cuppucino cheese cake that had great coffee flavors! read more

Every time I come to an Olivers market, it kind of reminds me of Andronicos or Raleys/Nob Hill! Cute homestyle market with a bunch of local items and specialty things for gluten-free or vegan people like me. Lol. They also have a really big holistic section with different medication's and herbal remedies that I truly appreciate!! While walking up and down the isles, a couple people asked me if I needed any help, but I knew what I was getting, some allergy medicine, using the restroom and then I ended up buying some apple cider organic beer!! 3/24/2023 It's been a long time since our last visit... I'm like a kid in a toy store..lol! Picked up five sandwiches custom to each family member. I was so happy to find the tortilla chips I used to buy!!. They are thin and perfect! The deli case was full of choices... Picked the baked potato salad, and macaroni salad..delish! Youngest son devoured the tri tip sandwich.. Vegan son liked the bean burrito more than the veggie sandwich! Bakery was very tempting.. Busy store..and friendly staff.. We stopped here for food and snacks as we needed to stock our air bnb. There are so many great new and familiar options. Nothing was outrageously priced, and all the clerks are so friendly. It's a bussling little store. I loved their salad bar, hot bar, and all the easy to heat and eat meals, as we stayed in one night. Unbelievably Slow Deli Service - Avoid if You're in a Hurry!" I don't know what's going on at the deli counter at Oliver's, but the service is painfully slow. I stopped in for a simple sandwich, and despite there being no crowd, it still took over 15 minutes to get my order. There were barely any customers, so there's absolutely no excuse for how sluggish the employees were. It wasn't just slow--it was like they had no sense of urgency whatsoever. The staff moved at a snail's pace, chatting amongst themselves instead of focusing on customers. No eye contact, no apology for the wait, just a general "we'll get to it when we get to it" attitude. If it takes this long when they're NOT busy, I can't imagine how bad it gets during peak hours. Oliver's might have decent food, but their deli service is a joke. If you're on a lunch break or just don't feel like standing around forever for something as simple as a sandwich, go somewhere else. This place clearly doesn't respect its customers' time read more

Oliver's has foods that aren't available in other grocery stores. They carry every fair-trade product there is--e.g., coffee, chocolate, bananas produced by workers' co-ops--and chem-free versions of everything I can think of. They hire competent, friendly workers, all of whom are part owners of the business. They do stock Nestle products, which I wish they wouldn't, since for 70 years, Nestle has killed thousands of African newborn babies per year, by the torturous means of non-stop, massive diarrhea to severe dehydration to kidney shutdown. Hints: Get one of the small-basket carts, since the aisles aren't very wide. Wednesdays are one-tenth off for seniors. read more

Shop here all the time. I use WIC the cashier named Erika had a problem with me using WIc and kept voiding and redoing the transaction, it was embarrassing she was not patient and said I could not get the juice and that it was ringing up wrong. She said " do you wannna pay for it or not?" I said my WIC covers it, I made sure it was the correct protect that WIC covers, I showed her that it was, she made me take it of of the shopping bag after ringing me up in front of a line of people. Then left the store without the juice and checked my receipt, it was covered by wic and I left without the juice I was approved to get. read more

As a grocery store it's expensive. I almost want to say "Whole Foods" prices before they were bought out by Amazon. They do carry things like "exotic" mushrooms that others don't. Their bbq outside is yuk. Was told it's awesome but it's slightly better than Red Bee (which is crap). I gave most of the trip tip to the wild animals. But the ribs, even the foxes and skunk wouldn't touch it. So, yeah, gross. Won't return for that. read more

This grocery store feels like such a luxury. Even when visiting during the mad rush at Thanksgiving time. It's clean and bright and fully stocked. Produce is fresh and the variety of goods would be overwhelming if it weren't so well organized. There is a delicious salad bar and hot/prepared food to go. The employees take time out of their day to help you (choose a local craft beer, in my case). It's a little pricy but I'd happily pay more for all these reasons - plus, senior discount Wednesday is available to my parents. read more

What a shame, it used to be great! They still have good bakery stuff. Not too bad on pricing so I'll give them 2 stars but employee owned and try e employees were super rude, that was just weird. Maybe I'll go back and see if maybe the section had to do with multiple grocery store trips where I encountered employees poor behavior. I am usually not a high-end grocery store shopper. If I can find a deal, I'm happy. I thought Oliver's was going to be another expensive but convenient store. I am so happy I was wrong. The prepared foods are delicious and make life easy for a single person or couple who don't want a refrigerator of leftovers. Sandwiches and burritos are competitively priced and delicious. The meats are top quality, and the butchers make you feel like an important customer (we love the female butcher and her great sense of humor!). Try the outstanding Italian sausage!There are so many unique products ranging from Italian specialty crackers to flavored vinegars. The cheeses are more varied than any cheese shop we have visited. Most remarkably, the bulk products include anything the healthy family or accomplished cook could want. I am astonished at the rock-bottom prices for spices with every spice or herb I have searched for in recent months. The gift ideas are endless including cards, kitchen items, and even garden plants along with cut flowers. Visiting relatives in Santa Rosa and they were raving about Oliver's, so I had to check it out and pick up a few things. One thing highly recommended was their soups, however, none of the soups my cousins mention were on the menu when I came. But had to try, so opted for the one that sounded best to me. Made a mistake and grabbed the biggest container and realized later whether I filled half way or all the way, I was paying for the full container- which of course is fair. I chose the Cauliflower Fennel. This sort of soup was a gamble, as too often they're runny and lacking in flavor, but Oliver's lived up to their accolades and the soup was utterly delicious!! ONE NEGATIVE: I looked around and couldn't find the price of the soup anywhere. Seemed it should have been posted right above the soups. I briefly talked to a few staff who asked me if I was finding what I needed. The staff was cheerful and it added to the pleasant vibe of the store. I picked up some of their pate', but haven't opened that yet. I got a circular coffee cake/pastry item that looked great, but was dry & a bit disappointing. Got one of their Portobello Pot Pies and Oh my thst was delicious!!! I was satisfied with half, but kept eating as it was so delicious. Got a few veggies and what I got as well as everything I saw just looked very fresh. Now I just have to make excuses to get up to Santa Rosa more often. Is 1.5 hours each way too far to go to shop for food? Excellent and hope to return soon! read more

I love Oliver's. It's very close to where I live so it was the clear place to go when I first moved to the area. I've gone ever since and the quality of the produce is top tier. I also enjoy roaming through the hot bar area and it's always so delicious. Only thing that sucks is that it is very expensive compared to all of the other grocery stores in the area. It's really frustrating being carded for an energy drink at almost 25 years old. I have literally never been carded for an energy drink in my entire life at any gas station or store I have ever been to. It's just obnoxious with the people outside, constantly asking for money or asking you to sign something combined with being carded for something so minuscule it just makes it irritating to go to the store. The 15 items are less line is always to the back of the store. Items are out of stock for sometimes 2+ weeks. It's just frustrating. Imagine you're late to work and you have to deal with some BS because they want you to show your card for a Red Bull... i'll just buy from elsewhere every time I think oh I'll give this place another chance.. I know they're pricey, but I like the environment or I like the selection there's always something weird. The food options. Here are great. The staff is always very helpful and friendly. I love how nothing is locked up, there's plenty of helpful staff on the floor either cleaning, stocking or assisting. They also tape or rubberband every product that might possibly open or spill, especially deli and produce. I appreciate the small touches like that. It's also now employee owned.
