You can also choose the level of spiciness, which was an added benefit, as we had 2 in our party who are not fans of really spicy food. There is an extensive menu and there is take out as well. The prices are reasonable and the quantities are large. If I hadn't been such a pig, I would have had lunch for tomorrow. This is a spot you need to check out. If you have kids, there is even a play area with air hockey and skeeball.

There were also only three tiny pieces of chicken in the whole dish. One of the people I was there with found a small spot of blue on his garlic naan. They also gave us bottled water instead of glasses, which would not be too hard for them to do because they also sell other drinks that would require a glass to serve. Decoration: For a restaurant themed around trains, there were a lot of random things in there, like on the table where the tracks ran to the table, there were several figures from random shows, and there was a traffic light that was continuously blinking the entire time. The gimmick: One of the main things that they advertise is that your food is delivered by small model trains, but almost all of our food was brought to our table by a server, with only one dish being brought out by the train, which nearly derailed. Music: It's not that I did not like the music that was being played; it's just that the music kept cutting in and out the entire time we were there. Other miscellaneous things: The logo that they use is AI-generated, and you can even see the cursor from some image editors in the logo on the menu. They had an air hockey table, a skeeball table, and some sort of photo thing that I did not get a good look at.

Choun is a hidden gem in Ontario. We stumbled upon this family owned restaurant when my nephew was…read morecraving ramen. Google ratings for this quaint establishment were not wrong! They specialize in Southeast Asia cuisine, namely Laotian takes on neighbouring regional cuisines like Thai, Korean, and Japanese dishes. The menu is diverse but shows intentionality. The standout dish for us was definitely the laksa. It was creamy and spicy and flavourful. Unlike other laksas I've tried it wasn't watery like a soup but was more of a richer curry bisque texture if that makes sense. The chicken pieces were tender. There were lots of vegetables in the broth. My Asian barbecue ribs were sweet-savoury. The kimchi cabbage coleslaw was tasty but I just ate some of it because I was too full from drinking up the rest of hubby's leftover laksa broth. My ramen-loving nephew devoured his miso ramen. Sara was so sweet and brought my nephew to meet the chef and kitchen crew. She also brought us complimentary Asian style churros. She offered great insight into the menu as well as her brother Bobby's journey into this business and his intention of highlighting Laotian cuisine. I was describing to a friend how at one point, a random Christmas song came on the playlist (it was March). With the warmth of family around me, my belly satiated from the delicious meal, it did feel a lot like Christmas in that one moment. Amazing food (I still dream about that laksa) and awesome staff made for a very memorable dining experience that we look forward to repeating the next time we are in the Cambridge area.
