The horse was being very patient and obedient just standing there and the woman (with long blonde hair in a braid) seemed to be taking out her bad mood out on the horse. She yelled with a nasty tone saying "back up!" God forbid the horse wasn't standing in the exact spot an an inch from where she then| moved it to. My family had horses, I know how you're supposed to talk to them. Hurt my heart hearing the way she spoke to this horse. This horse was not being difficult in any way. It is a privilege and an honor to be able to work with horses. I did not get the impression this person understands that. Even if you are having a bad day, you never take it out on an animal. Maybe i'm overly sensitive when it comes to all animals, especially dogs and horses but this is just the feeling I got when I witnessed this today. I hope that this is not an every day occurrence with the horses in their care.

I would not recommend this stable based on our experience…read more My daughter signed a boarding agreement, paid all of her boarding fees in full, and provided more than the required 30 days' notice that she intended to move her horse. Despite this, she was never provided with a copy of the signed contract. Instead of honoring the notice period, the stable gave her only 24 hours to remove her horse. They also kept her $500 security deposit and retained the unused boarding fees for more than half of the month. This was extremely unprofessional, unfair, and unacceptable. A boarding facility should communicate clearly, provide copies of signed agreements, and treat clients with honesty and respect. Keeping a client's deposit and prepaid fees under these circumstances, while refusing to address legitimate concerns directly, reflects very poor business practices. I hope the stable will improve its professionalism and transparency so that other horse owners do not have a similar experience.

It is a shame but understandable during these times. DDR Farms on Sweet Hollow Road is an active equestrian center that helps youngsters learn about horses by riding them. They are rescuing injured animals and they have a full staff and vet on call to help the animals heal. We took our two grandkids there and they are too young to ride but we saw many animals that are in their own corrals as well as some that are healthy and strong and those are used to teach young people, starting from about age 7 up to young adults. The horses have food and water and are very well taken care of.
