Also i rode a Race Horse, that my sister bought, and brought it out to a nice area, close to home. I've been to many Dude Ranches- where my father was allowed to take us children out with him. He taught us to ride. I've galloped many times on a horse, in open land. I didn't need some unknowledgeable woman, telling me what to do. And only addressing myself and my daughter's, on how to ride. I spoke up, and said look around no one is riding perfectly. She then stopped talking. I have told all my family and friends not to go there. The horses seem exhausted, and there stables are filthy. These poor horses need new owners. They should be closed down, as soon as possible. And I will keep telling people stay away from these dirty, rude, ignorant people.

The houses, stables and corrals are there but the same cars have been parked in the driveway for a very long time and the place is completely deserted. It is a shame but understandable during these times. DDR Farms on Sweet Hollow Road is an active equestrian center that helps youngsters learn about horses by riding them. They are rescuing injured animals and they have a full staff and vet on call to help the animals heal. We took our two grandkids there and they are too young to ride but we saw many animals that are in their own corrals as well as some that are healthy and strong and those are used to teach young people, starting from about age 7 up to young adults. The horses have food and water and are very well taken care of.

Her extensive dressage background ensures that her students are equipped with a solid foundation in flatwork that translates beautifully over fences. In 5 months of consistent lessons, Sally completely boosted my confidence and got me back to jumping small courses after a long break. Sadly I'm not able to ride very often these days, but whenever I do get a chance to take a lesson with Sally, she is always able to meet me wherever I am that day and I walk away feeling accomplished. I finished a hike today at West Hills and sat down to watch the birds, I saw a worker or volunteer…read moretake a white horse out of the stable. The horse was being very patient and obedient just standing there and the woman (with long blonde hair in a braid) seemed to be taking out her bad mood out on the horse. She yelled with a nasty tone saying "back up!" God forbid the horse wasn't standing in the exact spot an an inch from where she then| moved it to. My family had horses, I know how you're supposed to talk to them. Hurt my heart hearing the way she spoke to this horse. This horse was not being difficult in any way. It is a privilege and an honor to be able to work with horses. I did not get the impression this person understands that. Even if you are having a bad day, you never take it out on an animal. Maybe i'm overly sensitive when it comes to all animals, especially dogs and horses but this is just the feeling I got when I witnessed this today. I hope that this is not an every day occurrence with the horses in their care.
