The facility is on the CW Post campus of Long Island University, and I must say, it's run very professionally. All of the school horses appear to be healthy and happy, and the grounds are impeccable - safe and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. My awesome coach is helping me sort through my anxiety after being thrown pretty badly about 6 months ago. She gives tons of positive reinforcement, is patient, and knows exactly what I'm ready for. Love her. They have a huge indoor ring as well, which is great for lessons in the winter/rain, etc. They have all sorts of school horses, so if you need to start on a pokey pony, they are available! I've seen all levels and ages riding out there. Little tiny kids to old people like me. I've taken away one star for two reasons: sometimes I'm in the ring with up to 3 other lessons, which can get a little crowded; and I wish that I could tack up the horses myself and put them back in their stalls. They have handlers that do that for you. They offer pay as you go half hour and hour lessons. I think they also offer 10 lesson packages, but that's way too rich for my blood.

Imagine how I explain this to my 6 year old even she can see that these people are totally off their rocker. How do you fire a 6 year old from horseback riding class for being afraid of a horse who did something scary on her third lesson? It's actually comical ! Selfish and rude spoiled people who are only interested in money and status and if I could give NO STARS at all I would . The only reason I'm even writing this review at all is because I wish I would have known this ahead of time . Save yourself the aggravation and just go somewhere else ! DON'T GO TO RED BARN ! Even if they seem nice at first , which they were sooooo nice to us until we voiced any kind of concerns (which HELLO I am entrusting my child's life to you) they snapped back with some real psycho attitudes and unprofessional behavior . Desensitized to aids. They have you pay for the semester and the trainers are unwilling or unable to bring you along and are often involved in their personal conversations as if the private lessons you paid for were actually free. I was told by one trainer that my posture was fine. By a second that my posture was terrible while riding a sickly horse on a child's saddle repeatedly despite my objections. I had another horse run away with me. The next week that same horse did that to a young girl, with no interventions from staff. If you complain you will be met with fast talking nonsense.

The horse was being very patient and obedient just standing there and the woman (with long blonde hair in a braid) seemed to be taking out her bad mood out on the horse. She yelled with a nasty tone saying "back up!" God forbid the horse wasn't standing in the exact spot an an inch from where she then| moved it to. My family had horses, I know how you're supposed to talk to them. Hurt my heart hearing the way she spoke to this horse. This horse was not being difficult in any way. It is a privilege and an honor to be able to work with horses. I did not get the impression this person understands that. Even if you are having a bad day, you never take it out on an animal. Maybe i'm overly sensitive when it comes to all animals, especially dogs and horses but this is just the feeling I got when I witnessed this today. I hope that this is not an every day occurrence with the horses in their care.

I have my 3 horses boarded at Stoneview Farms since April 2011. I love this facility. I have…read morepreviously been at 3 other farms who I also liked very much. But Stoneview is definitely the longest time my horses have been boarded. I hope it's like home for them by now. I love the people at Stoneview Farms. It's no drama, no bossing, no rudeness, and no stress. Stoneview Farms is a place where people come to enjoy their time with their horses. I really appreciate that. The schedule is very open but I always check for availability on special days. So far I can visit my horses anytime: 8 pm or 6 am. On holiday days or weekends. This is important since I live 35 miles away and I have a very busy schedule. The barn is kept extremely clean. The horse stalls are 14x14 large. Perfect for really big horses like mine. It has windows that are open in the summer. It never really gets too hot in this barn. I think it is because of the altitude of its location. There is always a nice breeze. The farm also has a large arena, a round pen, a jumping field and a track. The horses are not crowded in their paddocks which means there is plenty of green landscape for our equines to enjoy. The Taddeo family and their employees work tirelessly in improving the previously neglected farm. Every month there is something new, something improved and it makes everyone happy. Its already a gorgeous farm that suits our pocket sizes. Some boarders are serious horse people. They will ride under any weather, and their horses are worked almost daily in their skills. That is always inspiring to me. Some horses there are retired but they look very happy and cared for by their owners. Some horses belong to Eric Taddeo and these are race horses that are worked out almost daily. I really enjoy seeing all this activity. But nobody is preaching and its a very relaxed atmosphere without die hard rules. I do recommend this farm. It's a pity they don't have an indoor or a warm space to hang out in the winter with my children. But I'm certain that eventually it will happen... I love their new instructor Laura Juhlin and she has brought in so much business by teaching horse ridding to children and adults. She is also very easy going and knowledgeable of her horses.
