Came back, a bit of disappointment...service slow, and there where only 3 tables. Food ok, but not as good as last time. They forgot food we order.... Big problem... no soap on the restrooms..... twice I say that to the waiter and nothing happen. Anyways, not going back.

What a great find in Madrid. I asked the concierge for a casual tapas place near the hotel Villa Magna and without hesitation he recommended Sagardi. Upon walking into the tapas restaurant I felt a great vibe. I sat at the tapas bar but decided to order off the menu. I started with the sautéed peppers which were amazing. I followed that with the steamed clams in a sauce that was to die for. I was still hungry and then decided to try the cod which was actually prepared in the same sauce as the clams (worked for me) and were accompanied by a few clams and mushrooms. The cod was perfectly prepared and the clams and mushrooms served as the perfect accompaniment. The service throughout my visit was quite pleasant and everyone very helpful and attentive. There was also a big screen TV (sans sound) for anyone who wants to catch the current football game. Overall a great experience and I would certainly return.

Visiting from Los Angeles we have high expectations. This restaurant delivered! We chose to eat downstairs which had better views of the raw bar and pintxos bar. I found this restaurant through Open Table.com. Service was fantastic, Pablo was our server. He had been to the US and his English was quite good. Their wine list is pretty good. Stick with the Spanish wines; a nice crisp Txakolina wine if you like white, great pairing wiith the oysters we had. For steak go with a Rioja. We got a bottle of Mauro. At €50 a great value and Sooo good!!! Two surprises were the freshness of the salad and the steak was so flavorful! We typically pass on dessert but we're intrigued by the sheep's milk cheesecake. For someone who is not a fan of cheesecake, this was crazy-good!

Beautiful place, very friendly, food is amazing and beautiful to. Need to try for sure.

Food is pretty lame, meat and potatoes where too salty and they always seems to use the same spices for everything, olive oil and salt.

The dish that ultimately won me over was the cheesecake which was very different from Japanese or American cheesecake.

Located just outside of Puerta de Sol. This is a great place to enjoy Espana tapas and a drink!…read more The tapa portions are very large: the small size anchovies, contains two pieces of bread with 5 white anchovy fillets, diced onions, green olives, drizzled with olive oil. For a savory entree, I recommend the oxtail stew: 10 pieces of delectable oxtails in a brown gravy sauce. This tasted more like a beef pot roast, rather than a tomato style gravy. The oxtails are paired with thick cut fries.

This spot was the one for our first Tapas dinner for this Madrid visit. Roomy inside with some…read moreoutdoor seating. Empty as we were early for dinner around 7 so we took a table outside. They do have a Sister location next door -difference is less Tapas and Paella is on the menu. We started with Sangria and the Alhambra house brew. The Beer was billed as an IPA but tasted more like an Ale-very good. The Sangria was a bit sweet and refreshing. Complimentary Manchego cheese was a nice touch. Our Server warned us that their Tapas are larger than the typical size and she wasn't kidding-more like Tapas on steroids. We started with the Goat Cheese with onion and blueberry sauce. I don't think I've had fried Goat cheese and this was delicious. Blueberry sauce takes it over the top. Tortilla Omelette (Spanish Omelette) was filled with eggs/onions-very good. Last Tapa was the Cured Iberian Loin. Again, big portion. The surprise was the flat chicken breast and peppers under the Loin. This one was ok. Decided to share the Rice with 1/2 Lobster. Sauce was tasty mixed with the Rice as well Lobster. Not much Lobster though. Service was excellent with our Server patiently answering all of our questions. They've been around for almost 100 years. Don't miss the Goat Cheese Tapa!
