Totally unprofessional. Beware of being billed for services you did not seek. I came to Sage as a new patient with two "in network" insurance policies (husband & wife). My appointment was supposed to be an initial check up and cleaning. What I received was a set of x-rays and no cleaning as they explained there was not enough time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They insisted that I need quarterly cleanings and would cheerfully book my new appointments.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (Based on the comments here, glad I never returned for the cleanings). Since my one time visit, I have received numerous bills for $400 + for the supposedly insurance covered x-rays. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon receiving each bill, I checked with my two insurance carriers - they both reported that no claim was received from the dentist[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Called back to Sage and asked why their office did not submit any claims to either insurance carrier. Each time I was advised the claims would be promptly submitted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After several months of this nonsense, I reached out specifically to the office supervisor. I left at least a half dozen voice mails with no response[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Drove the office and personally asked for the supervisor. When he asked for the reason for my visit, in a clearly audible voice I noted that has ignored my voice mails. The other patients in the office perked up. I was immediately escorted into the office to curtail this conversation in earshot of other patients[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was promised AGAIN! that a claim would be sent to insurance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After several weeks and another Sage bill, I found that one of the two insurance carriers were invoiced. Upon receiving Sage's final notice before being sent to collection, I again called the office. The insurance was only partially covering the visit. I am now told "special" x-rays that are outside of insurance coverage were taken without my consent or knowledge. Totally unacceptable that they performed additional x-ray procedures without saying a word. Finally had the billing office reduce my cost to a reasonable amount. Although the additional unwarranted "ransom" payment was distasteful, I paid just to finally rid myself of this long term nightmare. read more

if I could give this office 0 starts I would. I got a cavity filled by Dr.Johnson and have been suffering from severe jaw/ ear pain For the past 3 weeks. I have called the office several times to speak to a dentist or manager and they have been very dismissive and extremely rude. (Especially the front desk worker names Giselle). She keeps telling me no one is available to speak with me. I repeated myself several times on how much pain I am in. I am absolutely shocked that they haven't tried reaching out to follow up with me. I urged them to see me as an emergency patient and they told me I needed an appointment to even been looked at. I had to go to another dentist to get treated and they were shocked by the lack of patient care by Sage Dental. Avoid this office at all costs. After sharing my story on social media I had over 10 people reach out to me sharing their bad experience with this office. I am a new patient to them. I just retired and had to look for new dentist. My first appointment was great. I had a consultation with Joy who was amazing. She told me that I need a root canal and crown and the cost would be $100.00 going through my insurance. So I made an appointment. I called before today to confirm my cost. Spoke to Chantell who told me that the insurance would cover in full. I went in today and now they said that I need to pay $400 because the root canal. I was totally confused as I explained I thought that it was covered. The office manager told me that the crown was covered but not the root canal. I explained I asked but she said that Joy should not have told me that because I have not had the consultation with the doctor. Still confused as I always got one price from my dentist. Think twice. I've never gotten such a fast, unsatisfactory teeth cleaning. Then they showed me a photo of my coffee stained molars and wanted me to get a dental plan because they said these stains could be cavities. When I left, my bottom teeth were so rough it was driving me crazy. I walked back in and insisted they smooth them out. That's what a poor teeth cleaning they performed. I spent 1800 bucks in the summer at the dentist with Dr. NATALIE and love her, she is FAb, however the low grade front office staff on my visit 6 months later with my new insurance was an issue. I do not appreciate the smirks, smart mouth assistant at the front desk. We darn near came to blows, she treated me like her child and I am 54 years old vs her 20 something attitude.. . My daughters and I are new patients, let me begin there. We just had our first cleanings with them, my daughter's had fillings done and we booked an orthodontic consultation for today. Of the 4 visits we have made to this location, we had 2 good visits and 2 horrible experiences. 1st visit-all went well, we were seen on time, etc. Great experience! 2nd visit-my daughter was scheduled at 4:00 for fillings but they didn't begin until 5:30, 5:40ish!! NO explanation given to me as I waited in the lobby with my youngest. Front office staff left for the day and we were still there, waiting with no explanation... 3rd visit-all was good again, began to think our previous experience was a fluke but NOPE! 4th visit today-had an orthodontic appt scheduled 2 weeks ago (2!!)... We arrived early, waited, and nearly 10 minutes into our appt time, the receptionist decides to tell me that the doctor isn't on our insurance plan so his quote for the braces will be on a CASH PRICE basis... WHAT?? 1st of all, they were late, AGAIN, and AGAIN, no explanation... 2nd of all, why wasn't I told about the insurance issue before even bothering to schedule a consultation?? 3rd of all, a CASH price?? Sounds VERY shady... We most likely won't be returning! The doctors themselves are great, I can't say enough wonderful things about them!! The front office staff, on the other hand, needs SERIOUS training!! They are so nonchalant about their treatment of the patients, to the point of making THIS family leave!! Sad... read more

Well, I don't know if the other reviewer went to the same place or not, but he/she is way off. My wife & I used to go to another dentist until recently when they stopped taking our insurance. It's a shame, because she has been going there since she was a kid. So, she did a fair amount of digging around to find one with good reviews that accepted our insurance. Sage dental has great reviews on google. The appointment process was easy, I even got text messages and calls reminding/confirming the appointments. They DID check my insurance a week prior to the visit...a week, not five minutes. Admittedly, they did take their sweet time on the visit (hence only 4 stars). The appointments were scheduled for 10 and 10:30. I wasn't taken until 10:30, got my X-rays and seated. My wife came in right behind me but saw the same dental hygienist. This is what slowed the whole process down. We didn't actually leave until around noon. The office is very clean and the staff are super nice and professional. There's even a playstation to keep kids quiet. It's set up a little differently than our previous dentist, a little less private and personal. To poke another hole in the other review, they checked my insurance coverage while I was having my cleaning done to see how much out of pocket I would be for any procedures that the dentist thought I might need and offered to set them up before I left. All in all, the other review is way off and this is a very good dentist office...so far. Minus the time taken and the almost "factory line" of rooms and chairs. I would recommend this place to my friends AND my worst enemy. read more

Initially went to the Deer Park - La Porte office as a new patient for a standard exam and dental cleaning in March 2022. I booked that appointment on the advice of my sister. Front office staff were both professional and courteous. I requested Dr. Noemy Ponce, who gave me the initial exam and cleaning, and was extremely courteous, attentive, knowledgeable and efficient. She advised me with clarity regarding my situation and future treatment plans. I visited the office again in June for a tooth infection. Waiting room was packed! Front office staff again were courteous, professional, and efficient...As before, I was examined by Dr. Ponce. We discussed options for treatment, and Dr. Ponce was able to complete the necessary treatment same day and did an outstanding job. All I can really add is that it is difficult to find a dentist you can really trust. I trust Dr. Ponce, and I trust Sage Dental. Thank you, Dr. Ponce, thank you Sage Dental! read more

Horrible patient service...they won't confirm your insurance until 5 minutes before you walk in the door...and if they have to get the operation approved by the insurance you might as well forget it because they don't care as long as they can hit your insurance for the office visit...I had to see the dentist twice and on the second time I was not taking no for an answer... Today was the first visit for my daughter after we relocated nearby. She is five years old and I've taken her to another dentist before; we have always had great experiences without any issues. The truth is that Dr. Davis does not have the bedside manner that pediatric dentists typically do. The office is very clean and I would recommend them to any ADULTS that wanted a good dentist. However, if you are considering them for your children, be aware that is not their skill-set. I have had about 5 appointments at this place and not one of them has happened on the day it was originally scheduled. I received a $200 bill that nobody could explain. And it wasn't until I asked to speak to someone in management about it did they tell me "oops it's a little clerical error don't worry about it!". I was scheduled weeks in advance for wisdom teeth extraction on a Wednesday so I could have Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday to recover (which I DEFINITELY needed and didn't get). As I was one light away from arriving, I get a phone call that there was a chemical spill in the area and the staff could not handle the smell. After explaining that I was in the area and did not smell anything, the person on the phone explained that the doctor needed a personal day. So basically caught them in a lie. At that point I should've just gone somewhere else but I was in so much pain so I opted to reschedule to the following Monday like they wanted me to. So not only did I have to miss work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but the person who gave me a ride missed work on Wednesday as well as had to miss work on that following Monday and I had to call in that Monday and Tuesday because it was so last minute. Both of us lost wages because they couldn't keep my appointment like it had been scheduled. My set arrival time on Monday was at 8 AM and I arrived at 7:30. I watched the staff trickle in at 8:20something. Shortly after, I received a call asking if I was going to make my appointment because I was 20 minutes late at this point. I explained that I just witnessed the staff walking through the front door with their little coffee's and that I had been there since 7:30 as I was instructed to because of the pre-op paperwork that I had to fill out. They gave me some story about somebody not being able to find a key. I was so angry but I needed these teeth out immediately so I decided to go through with it. And thank my lucky stars that the actual dental work is so much better than the service I had received till that point. The next appointment that I was going to need was made early February and was scheduled for April 21. And of course, I received a call yesterday that they were going to have a staff day and that they needed to reschedule me. I am probably as busy as the next person but I've had enough. If I schedule something it's because that's when I have availability. I called today to have my x-rays sent to me and the manager (Brittany?) asked me what was the reason for me to terminate my care there. I started explaining but she interrupted me, proceeded to talk over me and just asked for me to give her my email, said she would email them shortly and hung up. On yesterday we were very disappointment in the service and treatment we received as an existing customer. Keeping in mind, we have been clients for over 5 years for our family dental needs. We arrived for my son's ortho appointment a minute late and told we would not be seen today. This not only angered me as a parent, but considering it requires me to time away from my work to make our appointments. We have been with Sage Dental for many years for our family dental needs. Please keep in mind, Sage Dental made a decision not to see us yesterday and did not take into consideration on the many days we have waited for well over an hour or more to be seen by the doctor. Their only explanation for this is "he was late" late being a 6 minute window and our arrival time was within in this window. This unfortunately does not satisfy the reason for not making time to see my son who is seen once every 2 months to only be turned away was not only disappointing, but pushing us out further and more time from my job. I am not sure how they stay in business and continue to get repeat business if this how they take care of their existing client base. To say new clients and walk ins are welcomed should be REMOVED. On the positive side the children love the treatment and the dentist who is attentive to their needs; however scheduling, billing and client service needs more work. Signed disappointed read more

I literally had all the fillings in my mouth replaced because they were either falling out or causing me pain (Thanks to Jefferson Dental), but Dr. Davis made me feel at ease about all the work that needed to get done and completed it all in a safe and timely manner. I too have a job that requires my time as the dentist and techs do at their offices. I am sure there are repercussions if a client "no call no shows" but none if the dentists are late?? I will not be going to their facility again! To add injury to insult, a woman walked in at 9:30 for her 9:30 appointment and at 9:38 she asked to reschedule and she was taken right back - what kind of business is that?? I love this place so far! I'd give them 5 stars but I know there is room for improvement. I had my first treatment here "deep cleaning" I put in parenthesis because its apparently root scaling. Which I'm glad they call it something else because root scaling sounds terrifying. Process was pretty painful at time but I was given many pain management options and the dentist time to be careful and quick which was highly appreciated. Their prices are a little high if you have no insurance but they referred my to Delta Care USA for dental, I now for the first time have dental insurance thanks to them and saved nearly $1,000 on the procedure. As much as I love Dr. Davis, I cannot handle the front office issues. I schedule two appointments at the handy online site and I receive confirmation emails and another notice to update the insurance and it tells me I'm all set for the appointment. Today is appointment day, we get there, and guess what, we aren't on the schedule. I'm told "oh the site doesn't really work." Guess what, if you have a site that doesn't work - TAKE IT DOWN. It is unacceptable customer service at it's best and we will be finding a new dentist office. The only crappy part is I am stuck with Sage Dental for an Ortho contract that we've been in for a year now and still don't have braces on his teeth. NOT HAPPY. read more
