DONT GO HERE!!!! Dr Zahid Juma insisted that I see a Periodontist! I have seen several Periodontists! Every procedure they recommend is Very expensive and not covered by my insurance. I made it very clear that I wasn't interested in seeing Their Periodontist when I had my initial visit last year. I have been doing periodontal cleaning three to four times a year and floss use a water pick etc. I went for my third periodontal cleaning with their hygienist, (who is awesome), and to do some resin fillings. Dr Juma came in the room and suggested that I see Their Periodontist! Dr Juma stated that the Periodontist was in the office and he wanted me to have an appointed with him first. I said NO! I once again explained that I had seen several Periodontists and was not interested in pursuing any of their recommended treatment. I was admit! He insisted that I see him! I once again said NO! I went on to explain that I am 57 years old and am completely aware of the condition of my teeth and the current procedures that Periodontists suggest. Again, he insisted! I again said NO! I want to do the treatment that I am scheduled for. This is about MONEY!!!!!!! I got out of the chair and said I am leaving! He then said that he determines the course of my treatment! I told him that he was mistaken! He can advise or suggest, DR ZAHID JUMA does not get my choices for me!!!!! So rather than have periodontal cleaning today my teeth are going untreated! He had the nerve to say, to a member of the staff, (as I was walking out the door), write a dismissal letter! YA, YOUR DIMISSED ZAHID JUMA!!! read more

My first visit, they didn't bother to verify my insurance information (that they called me weeks before the appointment to obtain) before I got there. So after my initial evaluation, they told me that they couldn't do my cleaning after all (because they didn't do their job) and I'd need to come back another time to get the cleaning. I told them that was 100% unacceptable as I'd taken the time off of work and obtained a babysitter. So they gave me the codes of the cleaning that I needed so I could look it up on my insurance site, which I did, and consented to the cost so that they could do the cleaning that day. When they submitted it to insurance they submitted an additional code FOUR times that they did not share with me that day, and that was conveniently a code that was NOT covered by my insurance and I wouldn't have consented to that day if they had provided me with that information in the first place. After several phone calls they did agree to remove the charges for that code. I also needed a crown. And prior to showing up for the initial crown appointment they told me they preauthorized my insurance and gave me a price for the crown that I'd have to pay that day. On the first visit for the crown I paid that amount in full. When I went in today to get the final crown and remove the temporary, they told me that insurance didn't cover the porcelain crown they had made, only silver, and now I had to pay an additional $150 to receive my crown. Had they actually done what they were supposed to do in the first place, I would have chosen the silver crown as it's my back tooth. And she said they don't do silver crowns. I told them, that's fine but another dentist would have but you didn't even give me that option, and you didn't do your job to submit it right, so this is not my fault. I asked them to remake the crown in silver. She said they couldn't as it was already made. So I paid the $150 to NEVER have to deal with these people again. It's a shame. The dentist is great. But the front office people will ruin the practice. I will never be back. read more

I was extremely disappointed with their services the last several times we went there. Constantly messing up appointments, but we stayed for convenience. The very last visit I saw the dentist first. When I asked her about my gum line that was receding, she said it was normal and not to worry about. Then I saw the hygienist and it was an entirely different story. She told me that my gums were very bad and I possibly had gingivitis and I needed a 'special' cleaning that would cost me nearly $300 because my teeth were so bad. I told her I didn't think I needed it, the dentist JUST told me I was fine and I just wanted the regular cleaning. Her attitude definitely changed and said she could not give me a regular cleaning. It NEEDED to be the specific one or nothing at all. She then said in a passive aggressive tone, "Well....you haven't had a cleaning in a year AND we did tell you last time you needed to come in 3 months later for a deeper cleaning. So no, I can't do a regular cleaning. It would be against my advice and it could cost me my license." It was loud enough for other patients to hear right next to me in the office. I was utterly embarrassed and it was completely unprofessional. I left there extremely upset. I called the manager who almost seemed to be annoyed when I called her to express how upset I was. She told me I could come In for a second opinion with another hygienist. I declined because I knew they'd just say the same thing. Come to find out from several previous patients, this is not something new for them. They push the 'special cleaning ' When it's not necessary. I switched to a different dentist who came highly recommended. The hygienist explained the need for the extra cleaning and what it was, BUT informed me that my teeth were just fine and I didn't even need it! A regular cleaning is what she gave me and it wasn't necessary for anything extra. Also, my gums I was worried about? No gingivitis. NOT. EVEN. CLOSE. I also expressed to the dentist at sage that I was having pain on my upper left tooth. She said it looked fine. My new dentist showed me one of my fillings had chipped and that's what was causing pain. He also had special equipment that showed me details into my teeth and went over everything I had concerns about. Turns out everything was fine. My teeth were not in bad condition like they told me at sage. I had been warned by a few people not to come to Sage, but I went because it was close to my house, they took my insurance and they were able to see pediatric patients as well. I'm mad I didn't leave sooner. Lesson learned. read more

This place is the complete worst from everyone that works there from the front desk to the dentist who is 90 years old and should have retire 20 years ago. Terrible experience. Only care about money. They told me they won't do the 2 cleanings a year that my dental insurance provides because it doesn't really help, instead they wanted to do a more advanced cleaning that would cost me $300 out of pocket, and told me to go somewhere else for the free cleanings. They needed cash deposit from me to ensure that the oral surgeon would be there for my appointment. When I went to cancel they told me.they are going to keep my $100 because I didn't give them enough notice. When we told them we will tell ppl about our experience they said give them 6 weeks to refund. The oral surgeon is only there 2 times a month . And they wrote me up a dental plan that would've cost me thousands out of pocket. I only went there to get a tooth pulled that was bothering me I was in a lot of pain and my normal dentist retired. Although the girls that clean your teeth I had no complaint with its once they get you in the chair BEWARE! They told me my whole mouth is in dire need of major repair. I never had so much damage in such a short time before between visits seeing other dentists. But even if I did need that much work what concerned me most was the charges. They started the work and they charged me $8000.00 out of pocket and my insurance over $13000.00.--- I think I was over charged and I stopped going when they were only about half way finished with the suggested work. I had no implants and nothing I would consider major (only one root canal). To top it off I take care of my teeth and while they were working on my teeth they said I needed another deep cleaning and charged me $300.00 out of pocket besides charging my insurance---- and getting paid. I have good insurance so you do the math. Come on guys I paid less for dental work in the past without dental insurance. With SAGE Dental my mouth exploded into a dental goldmine. I Stopped going to these guys before they cleaned my bank account and after talking to several coworkers that said they had the same experience and they stopped going. I Gave the staff a good rating so if you have the time to sit in a dental chair for work you probably don't need and money , lots of money and insurance go to Sage Dental. This company told me that I was covered under the insurance I provided them with. I made it to 2 actual appointments to do cleaning before my 3rd appointment (cleaning follow up) was rescheduled multiple times because the hygienist decided she was going to go on vacation during the time of my scheduled appointment. I rescheduled for another day and on that day received a phone call that I was no longer accepted under the insurance that was provided. In order to make the first appointment, the receptionist says that there is a $50 charge to hold the appointment and at the end you can either use the $50 towards your balance at the end of the visit or just roll it over for the next appointment and another fee would not need to be paid. After being told that I was no longer on the insurance, I canceled the upcoming appointments and was then told that they do not know what happened to the deposit, and that it probably went towards something else that I was not told about ahead of time. The people there are very rude and I would not recommend coming/going to this location. Go somewhere else read more

Joining there plan is a scam!! They tell you that you get 1 or 2 cleanings depending on what plan you join. I went in 6 months after I joined. She measured my gums. She then tells me the cost is $600.00. I couldn't believe my ears. I contacted them via Facebook. I got a reply telling me they would have to check into it. That was at least 2 months ago. So disappointed. The name changed from Gentle Dental...I had the best hygentist and went every 3 months bec as use I keep clean teeth. Always I have had no issues and told some of the nicest teeth. My hygentist was gone when I arrived and had been replaced....a lady on the phone was questioning why she could not have a regular cleaning and they were telling her she had to come back for maintanance every month. That she now could not get regular cleanings til her gums were back to normal. I go back and the new "hygentist" instead of cleaning as always pokes at my teeth and states I have 4 thru 6 in several back teeth. long story short she came back to tell me my insurance covered alot but my share would be almost 400.00 and I could not have my normal cleaning because this had to be done...scaling, meds the whole thing. How in 3 months and Years since I ever had gum issues could this happen. A 6 would be tough to get from a 3/4 with the care I always give my teeth in 90 days. They lost a once - very happy customer one who could not stop bragging about how great the dentist was. My back teeth never hurt but she kept poking and shoving the pick in them I still feel it tonight...ouch and SHAME on SAGE dental. I am actually pissed off i allowed someone to keep shoving a metal pick over and over in my gum. If you shove far enough you can get a 6 believe me. May take this much ,MUCH...further once my next dentist evaluated me. I have only been thru this 2 times before.....I know how it works, you can tell on your first visit and a hygentist visit if you have a trustworthy one or one trying to make money. . You can fool some people but not all And trust me....this will get around. So the follow up on my disappointment with SAGE DENTAL in ROYAL PALM BEACH new takeover/name change. I went to another suggested dental office from my insurance and I was thrilled to find not only did they get me in right away for the Xrays but the dentist assured me my teeth and gums were very well taken care of. He suggested I continue getting my teeth regular cleaned as I do. I take pride in my teeth and have great insurance along with taking advantage of being able to get my teeth cleaned 4 times a year. The hygentist made me aware my teeth were in very good shape, gums were great and just to watch 1 area which was a 3/4 in depth when measured. A regular cleaning was all that was needed and they did it right then. She was even more detailed than any other hygentist I have ever had and I have has great ones in my past. Gentle Dental prior to take over had an awesome hygentist but they got rid of her upon SAGE dental take over. Too bad -this is were a lot of the issue with SAGE started. Reconfirming the issue was new hygentist told me my apt for the 3 month cleaning all of a sudden could not be done because my back teeth in several ones were bad a 5/7 and I needed deep cleaning treatments which would cost me 400.00. That my great teeth had turned into bad gums in a matter of 3 months. I am filing a complaint and doing this not only because I am completely disappointed this location is now turned from being so great to obviously trying to take people for their hard earned money. I take my teeth seriously along with my hard earned money. SHAME ON SAGE DENTAL. I have too good of an insurance for them to have you on their suggested dental list. They are handling the issue. I scheduled an appointment for cleaning, x-rays and a consult. They declined to do the cleaning, and wouldn't refund my money. The Dentist proceeded to try and scare me into over $20,000 (Twenty thousand dollars!!) worth of dental work. Needless to say, I went for a second opinion. I did receive a very bad service from sage dental of Royal palm beach. They have no customer service at all. They are very unprofessional. When I asked for the manager, they told me that there is no manager. I went to that place to have my regular cleaning, prophylaxis, as a patient of sage dental as scheduled. According to my insurance, I have two cleanings per year free of charge. They tried to charge me and I asked them to call the insurance. The insurance sent them a fax regarding my free cleaning.
