I use the Sage Dental in Vero Beach. I don't particularly like going to the dentist, but I can tell you that this place makes you feel comfortable. The offices are super clean and everything they use is sterized. From the receptionist to the person that does the deep cleaning and finally to Dr. Janely Pinero. I also read horrible reviews but wanted to give it a try. They told me I would get a free exam and exray it's a special they have right now. I made an appointment.I checked in with front desk at 11:50 for a 12:00pm appointment. First she asked what they told me on the phone because they tell people the wrong things. Then she said I'll talk to my manager and see if we can take you. She comes back and says her manager approves. As if I did not make an appointment and walked in. The woman had no clue of my appointment and asked did I just arrive and sorry about that. Stay away from this clinic, it employs mentally unstable individuals Like doctor Janely Pinero. I was sitting at the dentist's office, boiling with anger. Even if you come just for a teeth cleaning, they always take an X-ray every time, not just a 3D one as usual. They take 20 pictures, each time sticking that unpleasant thing for X-rays into your mouth. You also have to fill out a bunch of questionnaires every time at the reception, and they don't care if you already filled them out less than year ago. The Probing procedure is torture, where they stick a probe between your teeth to see what the infection situation is. I don't understand why they need to measure this if they're going to clean everywhere during the cleaning anyway. They didn't even give me lip balm when I ask they even don't have it at all!! They say, "Take a mirror, I'll show you that you have a bacteria eating your gums," and start cleaning my teeth during Probing instead of showing. I tell them not to clean with an instrument that's not meant for it right now - clean during the regular teeth cleaning. My gums bleed, but they don't even offer me a rinse. The saliva ejector was in an uncomfortable place, and the doctor who did the cleaning worked without an assistant, which lengthened the visit and complicated the manipulation procedure that should have been done by two people. It was cold, and there were no blankets to cover up. There was only one bathroom for visitors. In general, the service in this clinic is at zero level, and the people there work like robots - without humanity and a desire to help. Doctor Janely Pinero was extremely unprofessional during my visit to the dental clinic. She was not prepared to answer my questions as a patient, even though I tried to learn more about the procedures and what they were doing to me. In addition, she did not finish the procedure, interrupting it and hinting that she did not like that I was asking too many questions. It was a terrible experience, and I would not recommend this clinic to anyone, especially if the doctor is Janely Pinero. I would also like to add that the atmosphere in the clinic is confusing. Everything looks untidy and dirty. When I came for an appointment with my son, they didn't even offer me a chair to sit on while they treated his teeth. The dentist came in and told me that she went to her doctor last week and waited three hours to be seen. I told her that I scheduled and appointment and they should respect that. The dentist was very rude and told me that I have to wait. Then after a few minutes she came back and told me that they are not a good fit for me and I should look for another provider. I feel compelled to warn you against visiting Wellington trace Sage Dental location and seeking the services of Dr. Sunghee Ahn, D.M.D. Dr. Ahn, exhibits an egregious lack of bedside manner, she is unapologetically rude, and blamed me for her own shortcomings in care with administering local anesthesia for a root canal procedure. Let's rewind to the beginning: my appointment was scheduled for 3 pm, yet I didn't see Dr. Ahn until 4:15 pm. Throughout the wait, there were no updates or apologies offered unless I specifically asked. When Dr. Ahn finally entered the room, she failed to introduce herself or clarify her role as the doctor. She wasn't wearing scrubs or a white coat to signify her position, and her attire lacked any indication that she was the doctor. Additionally, I observed that she didn't wash her hands before putting on gloves. After donning the gloves, instead of addressing me directly, she began interacting with the computer mouse, and begin initiating treatment with her contaminated gloves after I had to confirm her identity as the doctor. Upon finally being attended to, Dr. Sunghee, after being moved to 4 different patient chairs, she administered what I assume was local anesthesia into my mouth as she was also talking with the two techs. Therefore It is evident she was distracted and not paying attention to where she placed the needle. Dr. Sugnhee Ahn then left the room. Very shortly after the injection my jaw became locked, which did not seem normal at all. Despite expressing my distress to the staff with the little mouth movement I could do, the techs dismissed my concerns as well, attributing it to the numbness. Dr. Sunghee returned, and again I expressed my concern and she stated that the injection had gone into a muscle, causing the lock, which she claimed would resolve within a week with jaw exercises but if I do not do the exercises it could possibly cause permanent damage to my jaw. Dr. Sunghee Ahn had the audacity to inform me that she couldn't proceed with the procedure and abruptly canceled my appointment, all because my jaw had locked - which, let's be clear, was entirely her fault. She had the nerve to blame my anatomy for her botched injection, brushing it off as if it's some common occurrence. Then, as if that wasn't infuriating enough, her so-called solution was to give me two options: either reschedule the procedure or simply never come back to her. That's the garbage she fed me while I'm sitting there, visibly upset and freaking out because my jaw is locked! And if that wasn't bad enough, she had the nerve to comment on my distress saying " aw she's angry" to her techs, as if it's some kind of joke. One of the techs had the sense to at least call her out, telling her it's not appropriate to say such things in front of a patient. This woman is an absolute nightmare and has no business being a doctor. All she did was scribble down a prescription for an antibiotic and a steroid and call it a day. Disgraceful doesn't even begin to cover it! Given my inability to speak due to the distressing situation, I relied on a family member to contact the office on my behalf in order to speak with a manager. The individual who identified himself as Joey expressed discomfort in providing his last name, which I reluctantly accepted. However, Joey's responses to our inquiries regarding the establishment's policies and procedures for handling unsatisfactory appointments left much to be desired; he admitted to being unaware of such protocols. Furthermore, Joey was unable to provide us with contact information for someone higher in authority to whom we could direct a formal complaint. Unfortunately, Joey exhibited a glaring lack of empathy and customer service skills throughout our interaction. Faced with a lack of satisfactory answers from the managerial level, I resorted to utilizing the power of modern technology. With the aid of an online search, I promptly lodged a formal complaint with Sage Dental's corporate office in Boca Raton. Fortunately, the representative with whom I spoke was exceedingly helpful and assured me that the district manager would be in contact within a week. Rest assured, I intend to diligently follow up on this matter precisely one week from now, armed with the provided phone number and direct line. Second when I complained about what were they doing to my daughter (Because they don't let parents in) they were apprehensive answering me what I already knew. Horrible location. Every time I'm there on time for my appointment they take 25 minutes plus to see me. Staff is highly unprofessional, always having loud and obnoxious conversations while dealing with guests. During my first visit I needed a cleaning. I did not want to purchase fluoride and the dentist passive aggressively called me broke, like a "I remember when I was your age and I had to live paycheck to paycheck," type of response. After I made her realize she was wrong she tried playing nice with me after. During all of my other visits to get a night guard, I will say one of the professionals was very nice and caring but everyone else- super unprofessional and careless. My first night guard didn't fit after they molded it. I've been waiting 8 weeks now for my new night guard and every time I call, they put me on hold immediately. The people at the Wellington office I've been going to over the past year or so are very nice and professional. I actually enjoy my dental visits. However, lately they've been requiring a voice phone confirmation for each and every appointment. Even though I answer all the text messages and even fill-out all the pre-appointment forms online. Sage Dental offices are the only offices I have ever visited which have this very annoying practice! Personally, I never answer any phone calls that aren't recognized since I receive so many spam calls daily and my work requires complete concentration from which I cannot be distracted from by having to answer phone calls. So inevitably there will be times when I will forget to call the office back. I had an appointment scheduled with the office in Wellington this afternoon for which I had already made changes in my schedule and arranged for time off from work. However, I could not answer the office's phone call and instead called them back not 5 minutes later. The office manager said that they cancelled my appointment because of no confirmation after 3 phone calls. I told her that if the person making these phone confirmation calls had bothered to check, they would have seen that I had filled-out the pre-appointment forms online about an hour previous and in addition, I believe the appointment had already been paid for in advance. But this apparently is not enough for confirmation. Valerie did re-schedule my appointment for 2 weeks out from today but this practice of requiring me to watch my phone and immediately answer it in order to speak to someone over the phone each time I have an appointment is highly unusual and very inconvenient! read more

After a year of being seen, Sage Dental decided to screw over one of their patients. After a year of being seen they sent me a bill. They claimed there was nothing they could do (which they can). They decided its better to hurt a patient financially than to have a returning patient or other patients. I will be sure to let every person I know not to visit Sage Dental. I will say the only good part about this business was their Assistant Office Manager Bianca. She tried to do all she could but to no avail. The saddest part about this is all the other patients that are having this issue. I cant imagine the single mother who lost her job with Covid and now cannot make this payment thus causing it to go to collections. These people only want you for your money. I needed a permanent bridge, work on my gums and a tooth extracted. the desk staff told me i HAD to make TWO DIFFERENT appointments for the gum work and tooth extraction. they insisted this work had to be done by two different people. When i arrived to have the work done on my gums the doctor looked at ME like i had two heads because i made two different appointments. he insisted we should do everything that day. The automated response for a new patient advised me that I was number 5 in the queue. FIFTY MINUTES later, I was number 3 in the queue !!! I've been going there for years only because they are the only dentist around that accepts my insurance. I will schedule an appointment only to learn right before the appointment they have changed the time without even telling me. Many staff members have extremely thick accents and you can't understand them. They changed my hygienist without even telling me and she is extremely rude. Don't go to the place if you can avoid it. I can not believe the lack of compassion in this place. Seems all they care about is the money. I had an appointment that I missed, my fault, but would have been nice to get a reminder phone call or email. Nothing like that. Then they lie to me and said they called twice and left a message. Didn't happen. My phone is stuck to me 24/7. I am, or was getting ready to have 25K worth of work done, and they tell me I lost my $100.00 deposit that was for a tooth extraction. Sage was really nice! I ended up switching to a different dentist to be closer to home..big mistake. She hacked me up (this was not Sage). I called Sage on a Saturday morning begging for help. So in November I learn that the crown I received from Sage Dental left a gap at the back. I found this out after an extremely painful gum Infection/abscess at that site. I am told they will need to redo the crown, which will be no expense, however to cut the gum down, and eliminate the gap, a periodontist must perform the $700 procedure and in a series of 3 appointments, the work would be complete. He prescribed me a sedative for the most painful part of the procedure. I make all the appointments, and plan a ride for the day I will be taking the sedative. I receive two texts and two phone calls confirming the first appointment up until business close on Thursday (the day before the appointment). I drive 45 minutes to the appointment, to be told by the office manager, Daylin, that corporate says they have not received all of the required documentation to approve the redo. I asked her why no one contacted me? She said she wanted to give it until the last minute hoping they would approve it. I told her if I have to find out standing in front of her after driving 45 minutes, she waited to long. It surprised me that they couldn't get approval after over a month to do so. No one seemed to care. I left after being hugely inconvenienced, and called their corporate office and left a message, which by they way has not received a response. I called later that afternoon to verify all of my appointments were cancelled so the periodontist would not be inconvenienced on Monday. The girl says, "I heard corporate approved the redo...no one called you." I said I don't know when I can reschedule since I have to make arrangements for a ride on another weekday, and that is going to take a while to coordinate. Hope I don't get another abscess in the meantime! I don't know who is running the Sage Dental Office in Wellington, but they are inept, and not equipped for this career. Find someone else! I must say I was pleasantly surprised with my experience at Sage Dental of Wellington. I read the prior reviews and I was skeptical and apprehensive of what this Dentist trip was going to be like. I made the appointment for my 3 year old daughter. And this was her first time going to the dentist. So my "Mama Bear" Instincts were high. I walked in the waiting room was full. So I immediately thought it would be a long wait...But it wasn't. The first woman I came in contact with was Carol (I think that's her name) she was pleasant and helpful. She was also very patient with the fact that I didn't have my daughters medical record number. She helped me figure out how to get it. There was toys in the waiting room for my little one to play with which kept her occupied on our 10 min wait. Once we were called back my daughter got a little bit overwhelmed and nervous. The dental hygienist was very patient and calmed her down. They gave her cute sunglasses to wear which she loved and she explained everything she was going to do. She allowed her to touch everything after she explained it. And then the Dentist came in...Dr.Green, she was simply amazing. She was funny and active with my daughter. Dr. Green made the visit very special. All and all it was a great experience. I will definitely take my daughter back and even make an appointment for myself! I previously rated Sage Dental of Wellington and had given it a fabulous review. Roxy the manager is great, Milton the Hygenists is friendly and professional the place is clean and provide great services. However here is what makes Sage Dental of Wellington in a class by itself. I had 4 crowns installed incorrectly by one of their dentist. There were spaces at the top of the crowns where the gum line was. He had to remove the zirconia crowns and reinstalled cheaper outdated porcelain crowns which again were installed incorrectly. Roxy always stood by me and said whatever it takes we'll make you happy. The dentist that screwed up is no longer working there HOWEVER this time I was assigned a pros pro Dr Jones to take over the task of making my dream smile come true. He replaced one of my posts perfectly and designed the new teeth precisely to fit beneath the gum lines using zirconia material. The results were professional and fantastic and I'm super happy now!! They're all about running up the bill. I've been a client for a couple of years and was generally satisfied until now. Maybe its the change to "sage" rather than "gentle dental" but they seem more interested in maximizing the insurance and out of pocket expense than providing legitimate long term dental care.
