My child began the summer program at VPS before entering preschool. She attended PS, Pre-K, and…read moreKindergarten before we had to move away. Since then, I've toured many school campuses to enroll her, and I can confidently say that VPS offers an exceptional academic program along with outstanding after-school options. One thing that really stood out to me was the weekly presentations my daughter did. I believe they were based on alphabet items, though I may be mistaken. Regardless, these presentations were wonderful for building confidence and public-speaking skills at an early age. The homework reinforced what the children learned in class, and the at-home projects helped them feel proud and capable just like the "big kids." The after-school programs are excellent. My daughter did imagination station, sprout and blossom, violin lessons, and homework club. It provides strong academic structure while also teaching manners, confidence, and responsibility. The staff is wonderful and truly knows every child. The only downside I experienced was when I requested a transcript for my child while applying to a new schools. I was told that transcripts were not available for those grades. I had asked if they could write a letter indicating they don't have transcripts or to create in for me but neither was done. After that, communication seemed to drop off, and it felt as though we were no longer a priority once we had left the school. Overall, I would still recommend VPS without hesitation. The tuition is also very reasonable for an IB and private school. I truly wish we could return to VPS or find another school just like it.

My son has been going to Sacred Heart Academy since kinder. This school is truly amazing and gives…read morethe children a very strong academic and spiritual foundation. The Staff, from the principal on down, care about each and every child at the school. They strive to make sure each student succeeds and flourishes in their preparation for the future. If you want to see the love and school spirit in action, look no further than the morning assembly. During assembly students' birthdays are recognized as well as athletic and scholastic achievements. Every assembly ends with a wonderful, uplifting song by the very talented music teacher. Starting the school day this way leads to a great feeling and positive mood for all. I will miss the morning assembly when my son graduates next May. So, if you are looking for a school for your child that has strong academically and spiritually, look no further and Sacred Heart Academy. There is a very good reason why this school is the oldest in the Inland Empire (over 124 years and going).

Redlands Adventist Academy is a great Christian K-12 school. What makes this school different from…read moreother religious schools are the small class sizes, the caring spirit and the overall student body and parents that are kind and united in the goal of quality eduction. I've put three children in RAA and have been very satisfied with the supportive staff and camaraderie on campus. Tuition prices are reasonable for a private school and the benefits for your children are unquantifiable compared to the costs/downside of public education. With about 400 students, it's easy for the students to get on sports teams and not feel lost in the shuffle. Transfer students will be welcomed with open arms, as was my son who transferred from public school into 9th grade after witnessing the drugs, violence, and peer pressure that's tolerated in public school. For him, it was a life changing experience when he joined this school and it turned his life around completely. Sports are a big part of RAA and their soccer program has recently been a stand out, earning several championships at the middle school level. Redlands Academy has been a bright spot for Christian education in the Inland Empire for over 100 years and I would highly recommend this school to any family.

My experience at Redlands Adventist Academy was very disappointing. I felt that the disciplinary…read morestandards were applied inconsistently, and I often had the impression that some students received more scrutiny than others. In my family's experience, my sister seemed to be singled out more often, which left us feeling that she wasn't being treated fairly. The vice principal, Mrs. Mazo, often singled out my sister for how she looked, with her saying, "You stick out more because you are blonde." After getting dress coded for her cross necklace that was tucked into her shirt. Rather than feeling supported, we felt judged, and it created a negative environment that made it difficult to enjoy being at the school. I hope the administration takes concerns about fairness and equal treatment seriously so future students have a better experience than we did.
