DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. God forbid life event comes up and you have to cancel. They will make you pay full charge. We aren't even asking for our money back that we paid half the amount that was due. We canceled 8 months in advance due to a life event and the owner is saying he will destroy our credit and put the money owed to a collection company. Within the contract he will charge you a late fee and then compounding interest so the amount grows and grows. We didn't even use his service and still is doing this to us. HE told me "my generation" doesn't abide to contracts, yet he won't send us the contract that shows we have even signed anything. read more

We are so grateful to Sage Productions for going above and beyond to make our wedding day everything we wanted and more. Sage and Hugo form Sage Productions were professional, beyond accommodating, prompt and easy to communicate with. We had a destination wedding in San Diego and despite the distance communicating with them was not a challenge at all. During the ceremony they executed the music beautifully. During the reception they adjusted as needed while keeping to our music preferences. Besides playing great music they did an excellent job at keeping the wedding day timeline running smoothly. They did an exceptional job introducing the wedding party because they had taken the time to chat with them before hand; this made for a very thoughtful touch. Finally, they successfully fulfilled our requests. As the bride, I wanted a TV screen to display a video and live feed of pictures; they made that happen! The groom really wanted to played me a song on a keyboard and Sage Productions help make that a reality. If the goal was to cause problems and stress during my wedding, they definitely succeeded. I cried 4 days before my wedding because he wanted me to change the order of the entire program. I changed the order of my program and come the day of the wedding he did not make any announcements because he stated "they don't typically do that" and I wish I booked a different DJ because he was supposed to MC and did not. He actually didn't want to say anything at all. He argued with my coordinators and my maids of honor the day of the wedding because they just wanted to make an announcement. It made them really upset and caused a lot of stress the day of. Pros: They provided most of the services they said they would provide which included chairs for the lawn ceremony, a microphone for the pastor, and DJ that set up and broke down in a timely manner. Cons: Did not MC, refused to listen to the wedding coordinators or maid of honors, had creative differences with the bride regarding the program reception which resulted in a lot of regret. A lot of the guests around the perimeter of the lawn ceremony could not hear it at all. Overall, I would not book again or recommend. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. I wouldn't use this guy if he was the last DJ in San Diego. We were 8 months out from our wedding and had to cancel it. He tried to force us to pay the full amount even though he knew he could get that weekend filled. It was a Saturday in April so with that much advance it would be nonissue what so ever. I got married this September and spent so much time researching DJs. I'm not sure how much time I spent looking online and emailing different djs. There are so many out there and they can make or break the big day. I ended up going with Sage Productions mostly because my wedding planner recommended them but also Sage was really professional and friendly. He spent time to listen to what we wanted and made it seem very manageable and not overwhelming. His online management system was awesome! It really streamlined the whole process. I CANNOT rave enough about Sage Productions, especially Sage himself! Prior to reaching out, my husband and I had called a few DJ's to get quotes, and they were above our budget, even with a discount one of them offered as our wedding was not during peak season. We were lucky enough to be referred to Sage from our coordinator, Weddings By Lisa Nicole, who had the most wonderful things to say as well since they've worked together many times already. When I checked his website, I noticed his prices were affordable compared to what we've seen, so we booked an appointment with him right away. Meeting with Sage for our consultation was very helpful and insightful. He sent a calendar invite upon receipt of my inquiry and we had a choice to meet virtually or at the clubs he is a member, which include Rancho Bernardo Country Club or the University Club downtown, both of which offer complimentary drinks with the meeting. Talk about convenient and fun! Sage was very knowledgeable about weddings overall, not just about music and getting a party started. Our consultation was much more than what dances we would like during our reception, who's performing a toast or what song we would like for our grand entrance. He offered us playlist suggestions for a multi-generational crowd and even described the dynamic between himself and the wedding coordinator to keep the guests enthused/entertained as they both steer the ship for the night per our plans. Speaking of plans, Sage's online planning tools made choosing and finalizing our playlists incredibly easy, seamless and so much fun! If you don't finish your work, the site saves and sends everything to him and updates each time you go back and change something without you having to start over. We had a long 'Do Not Play' list, many songs that aren't exactly mainstream, 90's and Spanish songs for my husband and his family. Sage was also VERY accommodating with all of my husband's last minute requests like our slideshow and songs he wanted to add :) The day of the wedding, Sage was impressive and a standout star! He also wasn't cheesy like some DJ's who are a little over the top with their personality and enthusiasm :). Omar was shocked he had some of his requested songs, and they all seamlessly transitioned to the next song beautifully. I wish I could purchase our playlists so I could listen to them over and over! He even played with our processional song because we had family rather than a wedding party walking down the aisle, but I wanted to hear more of the song as well as my favorite parts. Sage made it a BEAUTIFUL moment, and our guests got all the feels :). The market lighting, up-lights and the multicolored moving lights were gorgeous and complimented our venue well. What stood out most was Sage remaining calm and more like a friend hanging out and helping us have a good time. I spoke with a few DJs and the choice was not difficult. Sage felt more like a friend when we met with him. Once we booked him for our wedding he had great online tools which let us revisit our choices and song lists as many times as we needed to add and change things. He also had the best price by FAR and offered even more than some of the other packages that we were looking at. On the day of the wedding we did not have a coordinator but I swear I probably should have paid Sage a coordinator fee because he made sure everything was running smoothly. He kept us and everyone else on track would constantly keep people updated as to what was happening and without him the day would have definitely been a disaster. Right after the ceremony my now husband and I were whisked away for a million photos out in the shrubbery and Sage made the trek out there multiple times to see if we needed anything and even took our drink order and BROUGHT our requests right out to us. We may have hired him to be the DJ but he did SO much more. Prior to the day I had given him an extensive list of songs I wanted to hear and he played those and then played many more that he determined would fit our tastes based on those requests. One of the best decisions we made for our wedding. The music was great. He listened to our requests and interjected his own songs for a perfect flow at the wedding. I was having trouble talking to people at our wedding because the music was so good that I wanted to be dancing the entire time. I met Sage at a bridal show where I was completely overwhelmed and couldn't wait to get out, but not until I grabbed his card. Upon meeting him, my fiance and I agreed that he would be the best fit for our wedding (and he truly was). What we didn't know at the time was that our wedding planner was going to end up being a complete disaster (and even left the reception early). Thankfully, Sage stepped up and saved the day. He seamlessly did his job and covered for her. I'm not quite sure how he managed it all, but thank goodness he was there. Sage was extra accommodating to our annoying requests and never made us feel like we were bugging him. When we ended up flying out a singer from Hawaii and asking Sage if he could record audio of our first song, he made sure it was cleaned up and ready once we returned from our honeymoon (and it's been on perma-peat ever since). My husband and I chose Sage Productions for our wedding after reaching out to a few DJs on Yelp. We met with Sage, who got a feel for what we were looking for and what kind of wedding we were hoping to have. He was very friendly and warm, and knows his business inside and out. He recommended we work with Robert. Robert was amazing. Because he was so comfortable in the technical aspects, he seemed able to focus on higher level customer service than any other DJ I met with. Robert was very friendly to work with. While planning, he encouraged us to make our wedding our own, even if it wasn't traditional. He also helped us to field any potential issues, like unplanned guests taking the mic, chain of command, etc. He was very attentive to make sure he knew how to pronounce every name correctly, so we could recognize the important people on our special day accurately. We had some tricky names in our wedding party, but absolutely no issues came up. There was not a single song that we wanted, that he couldn't get it. Awesome! Day of, keeping timing seemed like second nature. Robert was there early, stayed late, and was ready to jump in to help with anything. It was really important to us that our wedding remained high energy and fun, building from a serene ceremony through the reception to an all ages dance party. He totally delivered-there were a number of times where I was filled with joy, looking at everyone on the dance floor, young and old, enjoying themselves. Lastly, Robert's presence at the wedding was the perfect middle ground. Some DJs like to make themselves centerstage, and some are really passive, just letting any mishaps that come up take their course. My husband and I met with DJ Sage and my husband instantly wanted to book him on the spot within the first 10 minutes of meeting him. He sent us links to help us pick wedding songs for the ceremony and the reception throughout the wedding planning and we were able to change it as it got closer to the wedding day and we went through the song list the week of the wedding to make sure we had everything online. Our guests had so much fun with his mixes (special request of 90s hip-hop), it brought us all back to our middle school days. Sage is the man! He helped us plan our wedding music, photo booth along with market lights for the outdoor area. I found him online after having a few negative interviews with local San Diego DJs who would seemingly up-charge based on time of year and availability. My wife and I met with Sage over the phone and told him we weren't looking for a cheesy DJ/MC, just someone who could be to the point with announcements but focus on the dancing portion to keep the party going after all of our formalities were over. He sent us forms to complete online with questions on what to play for our grand entrance, bridal party names for announcements, etc which we filled out and sent back to him. Sage also worked with our coordinator to get items on the timeline straightened out. Unfortunately our coordinator was lagging and stressing out my wife and mother in law on the day of the wedding as she couldn't seem to keep things going smoothly (if I can give anyone advice, make sure your coordinator knows how to coordinate BEFORE you hire him/her!). Sage stepped in and took the lead, and we were thankful we could count on him the keep the show going in the right direction. Sage ultimately played a mix of top 40 mixed in with 80's music which was great for the older crowd, along with hip hop and R&B songs with mash ups. We were so happy with his professionalism and DJing that we're going to have him play music at a small one-year anniversary party we're throwing for close family and friends! We met Sage at a golf course and he was incredibly friendly and helped us out significantly planning the music portion of our wedding. He has an incredibly easy system to plan out what music we want for what portion of the wedding. He also has many DJs working for him but when he asked which one we would like it was an easy choice...we just asked hey what are you doing that night and he said let's do it. On the night of our wedding he had everything going from a nice light set up and had all the music going perfectly timed. Sage also had us perfectly mic'd for our vows and everything went off as best as it possibly could. If we ever have any other functions it an easy choice who we would pick for our DJ. read more

When I was looking for a wedding DJ I looked around a little and was having a problem finding a DJ who had the right energy. Trust me a DJ with the right energy is VERY important. A friend was getting married a few weeks before me and had booked Sage for her wedding. She has good taste and I knew she wouldn't have booked a bad DJ for her event so I decided to give him a call. I was blown away by how professional yet down to earth Sage was. He met us at the venue to discuss the layout and better assess our needs. He was very knowledgeable and knew I would see him a few weeks before my event which would give me an opportunity to see him in action before my big day. and could get an idea what he was like in action. Sage pointed out some things in our timeline that we hadn't even considered including flow of the event. My big day was last weekend and I have to say that Sage was all we had hoped and more. He was easy going and great to work with, last thing you want on your wedding day is to stress about your DJ. Our guests had an amazing time and the wedding was a huge success. I've been to quite a few weddings so far this year (including my own) and Sage was the DJ at 2 of them. We were so lucky to be able to work with DJ Hugo and Sage Productions! Hugo was so amazing not just the day of our wedding, but also in keeping contact with us prior to the wedding! Hugo even came to our rehearsal to make sure that things were seamless for our ceremony. One stop shopping...no need to look further... Sage came out to my house to meet with me regarding my daughters Sweet 16 party and was extrememly helpful and professional. We had another event the same week at my house where I needed table and chair rentals and he was able to accomodate me at 50% cheaper than the local rental company I was going to use. In addition to having such a thorough and up front website where I could plan what I could afford, he made sure that the DJ was someone that the kids and parents could relate to. DJ Jordan was excellent and the kids had a fantastic time. The light show and uplights really made it all seem like we had our very own club in our living room! We also rented a photo booth where we setup our own backdrop so more people could get into the photos (those little booths get so cramped). Everyone loved the photo booth...kids as well as adults...and now we have great and fun memories captured without having to ask kids to pose, etc. The attendant was great and helped us figure out how to do close-ups as well as group photos which added to the fun for the kids! Do yourself a huge favor and do not do business with this company. The lack of clarity in the contract will cause you more stress than the company is worth. I unfortunately had to call off my wedding and gave them 8.5 months notice but according to them they had already experienced "unrecoverable losses". To sum it up, they wanted to charge the entire fee for services they were no longer providing. If they can't re-book an event for an April Saturday night in San Diego with that amount of time it would seem as though the company is not that popular. They also don't want to provide proof that they have not booked another event for that date. With the lack of trust I have for this company, I would not be surprised if they were taking my money and booking another event. The lack of communication is what really got me. They will wait until five days before to email you that you have an outstanding balance and then won't respond to your email until the night before the money is due (only after threatening to not be held responsible for the remaining balance). They are rude on the phone and talk down to you as if you are a child. They have zero compassion and I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. I normally would not waste my time writing a review (I actually didn't have to write a review for any of my other vendors) but Sage has rubbed me the wrong way and I don't want others to have to experience his poor customer service. read more

Sage was the perfect DJ for our wedding. We initially picked him because we were impressed by his organization and his down-to-earth attitude. On the wedding day itself, he was absolutely stellar. He was all set up and ready to go well before the ceremony. He even offered to get us water or whatever we needed while we were getting ready and taking our first look pictures. When in the middle of our ceremony we all had to run for cover from a sudden storm, we were able to seamlessly continue with the ceremony under the cover of the tent due to Sage's flexibility and quick thinking. As for his DJ-ing, we had a fun dance party all night long. Everyone was into it, from the twenty-somethings to the grandparents. We didn't tax him with too many specific requests on what to play, but he expertly wove in our requests with what he knew would please the crowd.
