Good variety of meats at a great price. Hamburgers are the best. Service is outstanding, I recommend.

Sages Meat Market has been a major food stop for us since the soft opening. We knew this was the place to satisfy our carnivorous desires. On that Sunday we took a chance to see what was being offered. We did leave with a few of the offerings, but more importantly we made the decision about the owner Tom. He made it obvious to us he was interested in developing a successful business. Customer service, quality products and the technical knowledge for preparation are key parts of his success. Since then, Tom has done everything to support his customers and their needs. If you're looking for the old "butcher shop" feeling stop by and see Tom. We have been using sages since they were in Morris. Glad they moved closer to us. They are always available to help with meat advise. We frequently have them hand cut steaks exactly the way we want them. Meat is so much better than the grocery store. Costs a little more but the quality is much better. They have a great selection of hand made burgers. My son just made some pinwheels. He loved them so I will pick some up for myself soon. read more

I was introduced to Sages by a foodie friend. This place is a gem and worth the 70 mile RT drive to shop here. Prime meats, great handmade grab and go, great sides, dips, chips, sauces, a cool selection of local artisan products, stuffed pork chops and FAB potatoes! Actually, the list is endless :) I can't wait for grilling season to try the burgers and handmade sausages. They also have great desserts! I just love everything about this place. I think it's great how they've almost set up a co-op with multiple small, local businesses that bring in various grocery items. Their fresh ground burgers are killer. Jalapeno bacon cheddar are a must. They have pretzel buns from Plano. Tortilla chips from Lake Bluff and Salsa from Oswego. I just picked up a frozen pizza from Eastside Cafe in Warrenville and will report back after I devour it. Super nice owners and the neighborhood is keeping them busy day and night. I am getting treatment for breast cancer and my mother-in-law bought us some fresh food post-mastectomy surgery, and not only was it amazing, but he threw in a bunch of food. He also gifted some fragrance free lotion and delivered it himself to our door! The thoughtfulness and such nice gesture put a smile on our faces during this hard time in our lives. I love this place. The meatloaf is a family favorite. We get burgers, steaks, kabobs, the sausage all great quality and reasonable pricing. the twice-baked potatoes are nice treat too. The deli meat is Boars Head and it is worth the effort. It's a small shop and you will wait in line but on your turn they treat you well and bend-over backwards to get you what you want. read more

Everything we have tried from here has been absolutely wonderful from the burgers to the steaks and even the Hillbilly Braid we had for Labor Day! My favorite so far has been the Sages grillers! As an old employee of this company back in 2018 for about a year this was one of the jobs I'll remember for a very long time. Tom and Ann (the owners) were the sweetest, nicest, and most easy going bosses I've ever had in my entire career working in the food industry. I remember a specific thing about Tom is that no matter what equation or math type problem that was brought up to him he would think for 1 second and immediately have an answer. I'm suspicious he's a genius. The meat and burgers especially the burgers were amazing and the best I've had still to this day. Hangar steak was great too. Overall if anyone is looking at this review trying to figure out if this is a good place to try I'd say go for and you will not be let down. Everyone in the kitchen were always hard workers and always put the best effort they had into the product and quality of the food created/processed. I visited for the first time today, but have enjoyed their food multiple times before. Feels like the "mom and pop" store that seems straight out of the movies. I've had the delicious Board Head deli meats on pretzel rolls from here at the best play date ever. The multiple hamburger choices are amazing- the peppercorn crusted and bacon cheddar were amazing. The pork tenderloin we had was so tender and delicious that our kids (ages 5,7, and 10) were fighting over the last slice. The staff was friendly and helpful, the offerings are delicious (variety of sausages, many chicken offerings, smoked salmon, freezer section, variety of stuffed portobello mushrooms caps have me thinking about a paleo diet!). We were the 4th customer in line on a Saturday at 10AM. Will definitely return! read more

Beautiful family owned business. The owners were there and definitely showed pride in their work. Just walked out with very nice looking steaks. Saw a great assortment of prepared burgers, sausages and chicken breasts, offered with various seasonings and stuffings. Staff was very nice, and despite there being lines, was able to quickly move to fill orders, making sure the customers were happy with the selections. Don't go in expecting to pay 5 bucks a pound. This isn't the Walmart meat section. These are high quality hand trimmed meats. Definitely won me as a regular customer. read more

I contacted Sages a few days for the event and Tom and his team did an amazing job of getting my order of 75 Prime Strip Steaks ready for me. I've not personally been in the store, but my husband has and we have tried a handful of items on the menu. The menu is quite expansive and everything sounds delicious. I really have no negative things to say about what we have tried so far. The burgers, brats and skirt steaks were amazing and all the family members who got a taste of it can all agree. I can't wait to try more items! I'm so glad Sages is close to our house and now that we have tried them, I never want to get food to throw on the grill elsewhere. I recommend stopping by the store early, especially when it's a nice day outside so you have a wide selection of items before they sell out. Made a homemade Lasagna and a homemade sauce for my girlfriends Birthday. Purchased the homemade meats and Italian sausage. They were fantastic the meatballs were scrumptious. I love to cook so I am picky about purchasing premade stuff especially meatballs cause they really don't turn out the way I'd like. We finally have a real butcher in the area. This is my new meat market. Forget the local grocery stores, this place is the real deal.

It is way to over priced. Just stoped by to pick up a 13 pound brisket for Sunday dinner. I waited for the guy to trim it and once I received it the grand total came out to be $76 dollars. For a 13 pound brisket. For when I k ow I could easily go to Walmart to pick up a bigger I trimmed one for around 35 dollars. read more

So, I heard sages was pretty good and thought I'd give it a try. I walked in on Saturday morning around 11 AM and I was the only customer standing in the small shop. There were three workers clustered together to my right talking. Another worker who is older and probably the manager or owner was standing right in front of me said hello but continue doing whatever he was doing. Finally, One of the three workers asked if I needed help. I said yes I just wanted to get some lunchmeat. They replied with the fact that because it's always so busy on Saturday's they don't sliced lunch meat. I was the only one in the store and they were clearly not busy and refused to slice any lunch meat. This was my first introduction to sages and it will be the last time I step foot in there. read more

Yesterday for lunch my dad cooked up some burgers we bought here. We had the bacon and blue cheese ones. IT WAS SO GOOD and it wasn't all grease! A lot of times you feel so sluggish after a burger from the grease but I did not and it was a thick patty. Ive only had the burgers but I highly recommend trying them out! read more

Awful customer service! Went at 3 PM waited 25 minutes after putting in our order. I couldnt tell you if they taste good because we walked out with nothing. Daves meat market in yorkville blows these guys out of the water for customer service. I will certainly not go back and will make sure none of my family or friends will either. read more

We were SO excited to see this meat market open!! We were even more excited once we started trying the products! Everything from the burgers, to the smoked pork chops, to the beef sticks are wonderful and extremely fresh. Sadly, there is a however. We were excited to put our first order in, and when we did, we were told it would be about 3 days. No problem, that's not much of a wait at all, especially for such good quality. 3 days turned into a week, which turned into 2 weeks, then 3 weeks...and here we are 4 days from a month of waiting. The HUGE however is, each time we called to check the status, we were told it would be ready on a specific day. And each specific day we were given, still not ready. Yesterday we were told if would be ready FOR SURE today. Well, we made the trip into the shop only to be told it still wasn't done, but will be in 3 days. Guess who no longer believes in what we're being told? This family. This fiercely loyal, local small business-supporting family, that was ready to give up our beloved Casey's in Naperville and always feed our family meat from Sage. As a business woman, I know what poor business practices are. I also understand business must be going very well for them, which is wonderful, and we wish them much success. We also wish for an honest response when checking in on orders, something to the affect of, 'we are so swamped and a bit behind, but we will be sure to call as soon as it's ready for you.' That is the kind of response that would help retain our familys business and the many referrals we had planned to give. read more
