We found that interviewing contractors for the job was stressful: costs were not disclosed up front and none gave us the feeling that we could trust them to deal with us fairly. So, it turned out to be a welcome pleasure to deal with Broadway Kitchen and Bath's owner, Jeff Chinman. From the beginning, he was honest and forthcoming about all aspects of the renovation. He really is a gem: a NYC vendor for many years who really has the customer's best interests in mind. While the showroom is unimpressive, it turns out that everything ordered through them turned out to be of good quality and reasonably priced. As various unexpected expenses were incurred, additional charges were also handled in a fair manner. At times when another contractor might have taken the easy way out on some aspect of the job, we found that Jeff would listen to our concerns and would try to find a solution that would satisfy us. No cutting corners! The two associates who were assigned to our job were terrific: Jimmy and Oscar. They managed to be as unobtrusive as they could be (e.g., cutting wood out on our balcony even in the bitter cold to minimize dust and noise). Would I hire them again? YES, absolutely. Did they meet expectations? YES, over and above.

Two of these projects involved high end wall and ceiling finishes in "feature" conference rooms and elevator lobbies. Not only was the team and to accommodate working off hours but, and this was one of the keys to the success of the project, they stuck to the timeframe of completion given. The other project, that included an art wall in a private residence was an equal success. Unique, beautiful and a real game changer for the interior decoration of this house. The crew performing the work was well managed, professional and extremely talented. They kept a clean jobsite and went out of their way to ensure we were pleased with both the process and end result. She recommended this gorgeous green silk grass cloth for the walls. When I asked her how to clean it her response was "Don't get it dirty". NO NO NO!!! My mother suggested Evolving Image. They had done decorative painting for her and it looks just like wallpaper, but you can clean it (yes, she had the same decorator). They came in, Made several samples giving me lots of options, The prices were less than wallpaper and it can be cleaned! And boy, does it look gorgeous. So now the old furniture is going to the Cure Thrift Shop on Thursday, the carpets and windows are being cleaned on Friday, and the new furniture comes on Saturday. Then we rehang pictures, and have a party!!!! Update- It's been 2 1/2 years and I still get compliments on a regular basis! The walls look like they were just done yesterday. I couldn't be happier!! I am very picky and they made me happy. They did my kitchen 2 years ago and was willing to put things on hold for a month in the middle because of family issues. This time it was painting 2 rooms and a half bath with floors. In the middle of this I had a floor and it affected the area we were working on so they went with the changes and helped me deal with insurance. Found me a clean up company that could come out that day.

At the same time they replaced our front door and a new slider to our deck. Our second project was to increase the size of our laundry room and bathroom. This was amazing! What a great company! We needed to get a custom butcher block counter for our tiny sink cabinet,…read moresandwiched between our stove and fridge. Serge worked with me to find the best counter for my kitchen, and then stained it to match the existing butcher block. He was incredibly fast and efficient when measuring, fabricating and staining, and then installing the new counter. All of this took less than a week! When our contractors thought our undermount sink, with a 1/8 negative reveal, was a drop in, they tried to force it through the hole and scratched our brand new counter. We mentioned this to Serge, and he offered to touch it up for us, even though it wasn't his responsibility. . Phenomenal customer service, great prices for quality work. Definitely recommended.

I hired I-Lin in 2017 to assist me on a large interior design project for a doctor client in…read moreManhattan. The out-of-state client asked me to completely furnish a 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom apartment, with terrace, in a new luxury high-rise building before his arrival and relocation to New York City. I-Lin and I worked for 2 months on the project under tight timing and logistics constraints. Everything, including silverware, toiletries, linen, etc. had to be set up by the day the client arrived. During our time working together on the project, I got to know I-Lin very well because we spent many hours shopping for furniture, assembling furniture, and laying out each room.
