Let me first say that if you are looking for an authentic Vietnamese restaurant, this place is not it. I always order Bun Bo Hue when I visit a new Vietnamese Restaurant (if they offer it on the menu). And what provide in this bowl, the side dish and how the broth tastes usually me to gauge how authentic a Vietnamese place is. Put that aside, their food is good for non-Vietnamese customers. It's becoming clear to me that this is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the area. The food is consistently good. Sure you can find a spot or two around that do one or two dishes better, but you just can't find consistency across the board like Saigon Basil. The place is always busy during peak hours which in itself is a great sign that they are doing things right. Looked around for some authentic Pho and came across this place. Place has a nicely sized dining area with lots of Asian patrons so you know this place is good. Service was prompt and order of crispy spring rolls came out almost immediately. There's a large selection of different types of pho to satisfy any appetite! Mi thap cam had a big spread of ingredients: shrimp, crab (it's imitation!), squid, fish balls, BBQ pork, and chicken in a large bowl of egg noodle and delicious broth. Even though there were a lot of ingredients, it was only a couple of shrimps, a strip of surimi, a couple strips of squid, couple chunks of chicken white meat, but plenty of fish balls and pork slices. The food here is so good! Located in a strip mall off the beaten path so you won't drive by it unless you happen to be in the area. We are creatures of habit so we usually get the same thing over and over again (#33 with extra egg rolls). Alexus have enough for leftovers and it's just as good reheated the next day. Always busy and service is always good considering sometimes there is a language barrier. The menu is quite large so you won't have a problem finding something you will like. read more

We got the Vietnamese eggrolls - a MUST, and be sure to wrap in lettuce with a little bit of the herbs and veggies. YUM YUM. I got a grilled platter of amazing, perfectly spiced chicken with more of the herbs and pickles veggies, nuoc chom to DIE for, and rice paper wrappers. I also got goi ga - chicken salad. Holy mother of pearl! Best salad EVER. My guy got brisket pho that was in a wonderful broth, great even before he added the lime, hoisin and sriracha. Wonderful meal. This place remains top notch. Great appearance, nice service and excellent food. The menu is awesome and does include a lunch menu at lower cost. Recently I visited them again and ordered the sesame chicken lunch. Loved it! The chicken came to my table and not only looked good it was quite tasty. It's far better then your typical Chinese dish. I did not eat it all and took it home where I made two more meals out of one lunch! The atmosphere of this place is very nice. They had decorated for the Christmas season and in the background was some pleasant seasonal music. This is really a very special place and it has stayed this way since my first visit. My boyfriend and I have officially decided this is our go-to favorite spot in the Northglenn/Thornton/Westminster area! Saigon Basil has the best Vietnamese dishes I've tried and I love their extensive menu beyond your usual pho choices, allowing me to try new dishes each time! Don't get me wrong though, their pho is AMAZING. If you're craving pho, I highly recommend their Pho Bac Biet. The broth is incredibly rich, the meat is very tender, and the quantity is very generous. If you're craving a non-soupy, rice or noodle dish, you've got to try the Bun Dac Biet Special Combo Bowl (combination of grilled pork, chicken, shrimp, egg rolls with rice noodles). And if you've never tried Bun Bo Hue (a popular central Vietnamese hot and spicy beef soup), this is a MUST. If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food of high quality this is your place. This place is the best place to go to if your looking for meals that your grandma would cook. The food is delicious and never disappoints. I highly recommend this restaurant, the only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I feel like they could do better with their customer service and organization. Great tasting pho here but sometimes service is horrible. I understand they can get busy most of the time but one day I went in and experienced really bad service, it wasn't at a busy day. The restaurant wasn't even half filled. I waited half an hr just to get a bowl of pho that was not hot and fresh. And before hand it took the waiter nearly 30 min to come take my ONE order. Definitely one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants up North. I've been multiple times and I have never been disappointed. We have been for family celebrations, special occasions and it's always a great time. My family always gets the wraps with all the things beef, chicken, pork and shrimp. So huge and so filling. I love the asparagus crab soup too. Definitely on the list of favorite things. There are times where I just get a noodle bowl or rice plate. And I have enjoyed everything I have tried here. I am a big fan of the egg rolls and so is my family, we always order lots of extras. It's that good. Visited 1/14/21 and my daughter had the grilled chicken noodle bowl and I had the shrimp/lemongrass noodle bowl. We both got the fried egg roll on top. She commented that it was a generous amount of egg roll on top and I agreed. Delicious! Sauce was perfect. The bottom of the bowl was balanced with the lettuce, bean sprouts, peanuts, carrots, chives, and other goodies. Best noodle bowl I've had in Colorado. Generally, this is not my idea of resturant I like.. We ordered pho tai, and bun bao Hue.. Pho is at sweet side and soup not hot enough to cook raw beef.. beef is tough to chewy. And I will say Bun Boa Hue is just spicy beef soup noodle.. can't compare to Taiwanese Beef noodle which is much flavorful and tasty and juicy and tender.. Service is horrible, waiter seemed to be bothered that we came in...I guess he took our order for another waiter and did not inform us until we asked if we can get our drinks. We commented that we see him getting drinks for other customers and he rudely responded because you are not my table, we are "next" to his table. This place has good Vietnamese food. Like most Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant the menu is very overwhelming. We ordered the Vietnamese squid salad, which is very tasty, it has all the traditional veggies mixed with RAW squid. Their Pho was good but it could have mixed reviews due to us seeing a few customers not really liking it and leaving their bowl barely eaten. Lastly we ordered sautéed beef with lemongrass which wasn't bad. Overall a good experience. My only ask is please have BETTER TASTING WATER! if you're in the area and craving some Vietnamese food. I have to start off with the fact that this place is clean and the service is great. I had the pineapple chicken( # 134 GA XAO THOM ) and it was delicious with a generous serving of vegetables in a sweet and sour sauce. My son had the sweet and sour shrimp with generous portions of large shrimp. I wasn't offered a taste of his dish so I can only go by his comment which was great ! This is a hidden gem on the north side and I can recommend it to anyone looking for a good meal, at a good price, in a clean environment and great service. This restaurant was the first Vietnamese option that showed up near me. The little sign on 104th st. makes one think it is in the parking lot of the strip center. However, you need to turn right on Melody Drive. There's a rather large sign once you turn. The food was very, very good. I ordered the #52 which was a very large plate containing vegetables, egg, a pork chop, egg rolls, shredded pork, chicken, and shrimp for only $9.99 plus tax. There was no need for dipping sauce; the food was very well seasoned and didn't need any extra condiments. Everything tasted fresh and clean. As another poster alluded to, the strip mall its part of looks rather sketchy and may dissuade some from visiting. The interior of the restaurant is clean and inviting. Except for one of the girls refilling water (she also ran my check), there wasn't much customer interaction, but that's the norm for Asian restaurants. read more
