My cousins favorite Vietnamese restaurant to go to! They took us here for dinner Sunday night. We have been here before. Not my first time. Overall the service is quick and there's a large menu with everything you could want. Place is bigger than your typical Asian restaurant. Lighting is good with ample seating. I ordered the Bun Bu Hue, my sister got the vermicelli salad, one of my cousins got pho and the other ordered a seafood stir fry. My cousin also ordered the fried squid as an appetizer and it was delicious. My BBU on the other hand wasn't as good. It lacked flavor and non of the aromatics was present. They do not serve it with banana blossoms, shrimp paste or blood. It's been somewhat americanized in my opinion. Next time I will definitely stick to the pho. read more

Food here is absolutely delicious and abundant! We have been here a two or three times before, but it had been a few years now since the last time. The restaurant is always busy, but service is pretty fast, especially if you know what you are ordering. This time around my husband had a steak soup, and the medium size was more than enough for him. I ordered a steak lemon salad and it was ginormous, I think I was only able to eat a third of it. Walked in and the place was clean and bright with quiet, peaceful music- all great things! I ordered the special noodle bowl that had beef, pork, shrimp, chicken and egg roll. It came with the usual cucumber, pickled carrot and radish but also came with bean sprouts and peanuts as well (I asked for no peanuts). The meat was incredible! So flavorful and a decent portion which made a perfect noodle to meat ratio. The pho was tasty but definitely noticed the pho toppings/meat was less than the pho with the last management. I got in late due to a delayed flight, and called to see if I could still get food. The staff were very accommodating and let me place a pickup order near closing time. The woman in the phone was very helpful in picking something despite me not having read the menu. When I actually got the food, I was pleasantly surprised by both the quality and the quality I received. Everything tastes amazing, and the recommended mixed noodle bowl was spot on. Came here for dinner on our way back to Denver from the Rocky Mountain national Park. This restaurant is huge and packed for dinner on a Tuesday night. We ordered the spring rolls, pork chop rice plate and my husband got a combination pho. Portion sizes were HUGE!!! This is an out of town review so I'm not sure if this is a Denver portion size or just this restaurant portion size but my husband and I were amazed how big the portion sizes were for the price. I love the spring rolls and the sides that came with it. The mint added such a nice fresh element to the bite. Still can't believe I got two big pieces of pork chop with my meal. Pork chops were a little thick, but still tender. My husband was not able to finish his pho which is a rarity. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is craving Vietnamese food. This is a pretty big space so there's plenty of seating. Staff is quite attentive and food comes out pretty quick. The recommended dishes: the 3 treasure drink (Che bac mau) and the appetizer platter and the Bo luc lac. So delicious. The appetizer spring roll platter comes with a lot of food so definitely an item to share with the group. It comes with a nice amount of rice paper as well. The Bo luc lac comes with a lot of meat that just sits on top of lettuce with rice on the side. The 3 treasure drink is such a nice dessert. I'll always get a Mongolian beef if it's on the menu so obviously had to order it - it was delightful! This place is charming even under construction. I thought it was closed because of the giant dumpster out front but I saw people walking out thank goodness. We were seated immediately. I wish I had gotten our server's name because I love her. I was with my mom and she confirmed the relationship and called her "Mommy" from then on. We ordered the soft shell crab, the fish special, the chicken with spring rolls to wrap. They have huge portions, literally overflowing from the plate. Everything was very tasty. Beyond the portions being enormous, the food quality is good, once again above average. The service is pretty good, I came on two different days and one day it was very busy and the other much slower. I think on overcast days you'll find much more people in there ordering various soup options. The place itself is pretty large, bigger than most- so plenty of seating. Saigon Basil is definitely the most legit Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. They have over 200 items on their menu, which made it a bit difficult to finally settle on a dish. After a quick review of all of the amazing options and realizing that this was my first time here, I decided to order the #1. Pho Dac Biet (Special Pho), with rare steak, well done brisket, flank, and beef meat ball. I omitted the tendon and tripe. As an appetizer, we ordered #179. Goy Cuon Chay: Vegetable Spring Rolls wrapped in rice paper with tofu & vegetables, served with peanut sauce. Two rolls for $6.95. These are good-sized rolls that contain lettuce, carrots, wood ear mushrooms, tofu, and rice noodles. They are served whole, but I cut mine in half and plated it that way for the camera (see photo). (As we say in YES, the camera eats first!) The peanut sauce has that hoison flavor that you would typically find in a Vietnamese peanut sauce, which I absolutely adore. It was a yummy start to the meal. Now, let's move on to the main star of the event, the pho. It was the most flavorful and tasty bowl of pho I've ever had. I was going to take a picture of it, but it just looked like your standard bowl of pho. I wish I had because it was that good. I'm not sure if I got all of the meats it was supposed to come with. Regardless, I was very happy with my bowl. Lastly, it was recommended to try the Cafe Sua Da: Vietnamese coffee with milk, and I'm so glad I did. It's served with a phin filter full of coffee grounds and brewed directly over condensed milk. Once it's fully brewed, you can mix the coffee and milk to your liking and pour over ice. It was super delicious and a great little pick-me-up for the rest of the day. The service was great. Our server was very kind and friendly. The food was delicious and super satisfying.
