One of my go to places for Viet food if I can't get what I crave at the time from my Mom. We've ordered lots of their appetizers and have never been unsatisfied. My husband orders his usual chicken pho. The broth is really good, not too much star arnise and not strong in cinnamon. The small pho is just the right amount for him since he drinks the broth as well. The vegetables that comes with it is always clean and that's the best part! No ugly brown tips for the bean sprouts. I've ordered their pho dac biet, pork, chicken and beef rice plate, pho hu tieu, and their bun bo hue. This is my favorite Asian eatery in Lafayette! The restaurant is small but so cute and welcoming. The decor makes it feel fancy but modern and not over the top. And the food?! I haven't eaten one thing that wasn't up to par. The pho, chicken noodle soup, spring rolls, bahn mi, and vermicelli bowls are my fav! I took one start away for the pricing because the food is overpriced. However, the portions are good and you do get full which is a plus! I also took one star away because when you order through Waitr they won't allow you to order the Bahn Mi for delivery So, you can order soup but you can't order a sandwich for delivery? Just thinking about this place gets my stomach growling. Inexpensive items, fast service, dynamite food, comfortable atmosphere - there's a reason this place is packed all the time. If you go, make sure to check out the fun & very random music selection playing in the background. It almost always cracks me up. Tea drinkers will not want to miss out on the Chrysanthemum Tea (peek in the pot to see a pretty flower configuration). I never fail to order the Winter Rolls with that Peanut Sauce from heaven. The Saigon Wing appetizer is good, too. Ohhh, Chicken Pho, how I love thee. Another good choice is the Crispy Egg Noodles & Vegetables with Chicken as the meat. You can't beat the flavor, plus the egg noodles are fun to crack. I usually order the noodles separate from the meal so I can take the leftovers home & my noodles will be nice & crispy, not mushy from the sauce. The Vietnamese Beef Stew with Egg Noodles is also amazing. Sooo much food. The Grilled, Marinated Beef with Vermicelli Noodles & Egg Rolls are delish - there's a fabulous zing to the meat. Saigon's Roti Chicken was the only thing I would not order again - OK at best. Overall, I can't really say anything bad about Saigon Noodles. I'm a huge fan of Vietnamese food, but my future step-kids had never tried it before. I'm vegan and wanted to stop here because they had real vegan options. Our waiter was amazing and walked the kids through each part of the menu and told them about why he liked different items. He brought out every sauce possible so the kids could try each flavor combination. It was a great experience. Additionally, as a vegan, I was thrilled to see that they not only had tofu, but had chik'n as well! It was a great texture and flavor. Just make sure you specify that you are, in fact, vegan. A major disappointment for me today at Saigon Noodle. The service was so slow, and later i was told they had no egg rolls ready so they held the entire order...given the delay i just asked them to make the order to go, and then they failed to put the fish sauce for the vermicelli. I tossed the order in the garbage once i found the omission. Worst experience sadly, & I won't go back. read more

One of my absolute favorites places to eat in Lafayette! I love their vermicelli bowl with marinated pork but honestly anything here is good. They always use fresh ingredients, the staff is kind and always very prompt. I come here for one thing, and one thing only...and that is the Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Beef Noodles). It is the best in Lafayette. But I have to be honest, it's a hit or miss with this. I mean the flavors are always there, but sometimes my soup will come out lukewarm and just ruins it for me. I always get the beef knuckle chopped up so it's easier to eat. The servers are friendly, and they always make sure we are taken care of. I enjoy the mix of Vietnamese/American flare this place has. It's in a decent location too! I've been living in Lafayette for over 7 years and FINALLY tried this place out just the other day and... WOW. It may have also been my first Vietnamese dining experience now that I think about it, and I am a fan! Someone suggested I try the Pho, being one of their more popular dishes, so I took their word for it and was very pleased. I slurped that baby down in no time at all. It was so fresh and aromatic, definitely an interesting first take. Being that I've only gone once and tried one dish, I'll give it 4 stars for now. Stopped by here on a recent trip to Lafayette, and I was pleasantly surprised. Louisiana isn't necessarily known for having good Asian food, and a visit a couple months ago to a Vietnamese restaurant in Baton Rouge had kind of discouraged me. But I would have to say that Saigon Noodle is really good, and not just for Louisiana. I got some beef pho, and their autumn rolls. The pho was pretty darn good. For me, the measure of good pho is the taste of the broth before you add your favorite sauces, lime juice, basil etc. Their broth passed the test, although it had a bit too much star anise in it. What really impressed me though was the autumn rolls. They were absolutely amazing!! They were really big, and stuffed with delicious things, such as Vietnamese style sausage. I highly recommend trying them if you stop by here. If this place was back home in CA, I would probably give it 4 stars, but since Louisiana generally doesn't have very good Asian food, I'm bumping it up to 5. If you're in the Lafayette area and craving some Vietnamese food I highly recommend stopping by here. read more

The pho is excellent, the spring rolls are good, the summer rolls with the BBQ beef in them are awesome,and this place always serves up a fresh and delicious meal. Ordered the Bun Bo Hue. Very aromatic and strong ginger flavor. Soup was very flavorful. Noodles were nice with a good bite. Meat was very good and tender. Pork knuckle was awesomely tender. Nice selection of greens..both regular and red cabbage. I was impressed with the service to begin with. Waitress knew her menu well and even asked if I wanted the pork knuckle with my entree. Overall a solid A for service, but the bun bo hue deserved a B due to overwhelming ginger aroma and flavor. I would come back just for the service. read more

I had high expectations for Saigon Noodle. All my friends have been raving about this place so I had to try it out. The Foods was all excellent and is one of the top places in Lafayette for Asian food. The service was a little slow and there are long waits in this tiny location. They need to move to a larger location and hire more staff. If you have time to wait, this place would be great! They should consider adding themselves to Takeout Express so more people could enjoy. read more

Flew in from out of town to visit. Not knowing where to go eat, I always go on yelp or google, and seeing that Saigon Noodles had so many great reviews and raves, I decided to come here for dinner. Amazing flavors, excellent price. Some relatively small complaints however. The good: My husband had the clear noodle combo in the spicy broth and I had the H35 clear noodle combination for our entrees. We thoroughly enjoyed our noodles, it was filling and delicious. The waitress was lovely and helped us as noodle newbies to make our decision. My favorite part was the perfectly cooked quail eggs to be honest. They soaked up the delicious broth and were amazing! The bad: We ordered the 3 piece quail appetizer. It was fried, and slightly dry but the overall Flavor was good. They must have had two different sauces that they drizzled over the quail however. The main sauce was quite delicious but this second sauce was insanely spicy! I'm an admitted weenie but my husband loves spice and he even teared up and turned beet red. Luckily the spicy sauce was only on one piece of quail and not the whole dish. I don't recommend this appetizer. The complaint we have with our entree is the shrimp. It's obviously not fresh gulf shrimp, but luckily there were enough flavors and meat to compensate for it. We just didn't eat them. We went at 12:30 on a Tuesday and the tiny place was busy but our wait was only about 15 minutes. It's well worth it! One tip: it will be tempting to order a large bowl rather than a small since the price difference is a mere dollar, but it's enormous. No way could we finish it! We would definitely recommend this place and will go back! Just avoid the shrimp and you'll be golden. read more
