The young lady that greeted me was not friendly ( pick up order).When she did get my order she just shoved it at me and walked off. No thank you, no type of acknowledgment. The food here is very good. All of their ingredients taste and look fresh, and the service is good too. I've only had their soups but it's enough to keep me going back. The decor on the interior is interesting and fun to look at. They are not open on Mondays though, which is unfortunate. read more

I prefer Saigon Noodles over Blu Basil for Vietnamese cuisine. The location is right next to a smoothie place called Fruitie Smoothie. You can get boba right after you finish eating at Saigon Noodles! The interior design and atmosphere is really nice. Was craving noodles a week ago and gave this a shot. The place was busy considering it was a Thursday night. Was seated within a few minutes of a server noticing me at the door. The menu selection is good: I'm glad to see that they kept the house special pho on the menu, as I've seen more westernized places take anything off the menu with tripe. Though how come it's not #1? That's standard pho house numbering scheme, always start with the Dac Biet. Anyways, I played it super conservative pho chin nam. Didn't feel like anything special. The broth itself was very clean, not greasy at all. One of the better broths I've had. The meat was a higher than normal quality, and for the prices here it better be. I'm not used to paying this much for pho. The fixings portion was enough for one person, looking around it didn't look like they upped the amount too much for larger parties. The reason why this place is only 3 stars for me was the noodle quality: it was crap. Very very overcooked, where I couldn't keep them from breaking off back into the bowl when picking them up. I could forgive just stuck together at the bottom of the bowl (which they were) but trying to get it to my mouth and being perpetually splashed me in the face just angered me. It became some chopstick/spoon action. Value: Got out of here with a small pho and water for $11-12 after tip. Not a terrible price for dinner but I'm honestly happier with a po boy at this point. I don't have a ton of choices here for pho, and given this high rating and my opinion on the quality, I will have to try something else next time around. Update 3/1/15 Went back as the place I intended to eat at had wrong business hours. Instead of pho I went with the house special broken rice, another staple of pho joints. Came out quick and hot. The amount of meat was good, as expected of the $13 price. The thin sliced pork was slightly moist, with a good chargrilled taste to it. The egg was nice and firm, good flavor to it. All of these things wouldn't make me change my review score as they were done as well as places I've gone before. It was the clear broth. That has to be one of the best I've had. Extremely flavorful, and that was just the broth. They use it in their other soups, and because of that I will be back to have it again in another dish. read more

34. Spicy Beef Noodle, Soup Bun Bo Hue, is fantastic. I get it almost every time I eat there. Their Pho is good, but I prefer Mae Sone Noodle House's Pho. Mia (VERY knowledgeable about the menu and great personality) hooked us up with spring and summer rolls which were both great, but the summer rolls were better..because of the bbq pork. The spicy noodle soup (bun bi hue) was really great and I'll most likely get it again. I got it with just chicken but next time I'd get beef. Fiancé ordered the beef and ox tails combo pho which was a classic delicious pho. Compared to other pho places in the area, Saigon got them beat. I'm no pho expert, but between the waitstaff, ambience, and food, this spot is definitely a new favorite of mine. Also, the Thai tea is very refreshing...i prefer it sans whipped cream. read more

I have to say, the food is great. Service is wonderful and friendly. I would have given 5 stars if they fix a few things. 1. The main issue i have is the space is too small. Seating are crowded and feel too cramp. Now I no longer go there since I have a 5 months old boy and we feel uncomfortable eating here due to space limited. We now go to Pho Sài Gòn now due to space issue. 2. Each time we order P64 which is a rice pork chop dish, the egg cake and shredded pork always taste spoiled. 3. Good viet place to eat in Lafayette since there's hardly any competition for them except for one other place by them. Small place, so it gets pack up. Food is good for this area, price is on point. While visiting my daughter at ULL, we found this little gem. The customer service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was small but clean, neat and nice. Of course we had Pho, which the broth was excellent and needed no additions. We ordered both spring rolls and the bbq ones were different, new, and outstanding! I ordered a House Special CLEAR NOODLE, which is a thing itself and has nothing to do with House Special PHO. The waitress brought out a House Special Pho with the pho noodles substituted with clear noodles. Pardon my French, who tf eat that?! I asked them to replace that absurd soup with the real House Special CLEAR NOODLES and they wanted to charge me for 2 bowls. Not to mention they had the audacity to tell me to specify what I wanted when I made the order, how about you change your freaking menu? Because I LITERALLY ordered from the menu. This was my first time venturing outside of New Orleans for pho, and I was really disappointed. The place is beautiful and the staff is very warm and welcoming, but the food didn't taste authentic at all. I ordered the Vietnamese egg roll (which other places call the summer roll). The food is incredibly good and the service is always on point. I've never had a bad experience here. My most recent visit consisted of me ordering bun bo hue. It was a spicy broth with thick rice noodles. The lemon grass in it might be a little too citrus-y for some people, but the flavor is very potent and strong. I also has the Saigon wings as am appetizer. They were smoking hot and tasted delicious. Give this place a shot. It's a smaller place and can be romantic if you're looking for a nice date place. read more

Saigon Noodles is an awesome place to get your Vietnamese cuisine fix. I ordered the Combination Egg Noodle Soup (M.40 on the menu) the broth and as a whole it was delicious. They do not skimp on the ingredients either. You are also provided with a side dish that includes beansprouts, lime, lettuce and chili oil which is a must to add all of the goodies in. I enjoyed the soup a lot. We also got the Saigon Wings that had a spicy kick to it which surprised me but it was very nice. Expect to ask for plenty of napkins because it can get quite saucy, as they do not skimp on the sauce as well! I think everything here is prepared very well both in taste and in aesthetics. Although I think it is slightly overpriced, I can see why it is. But it is definitely worth it! Seating a little bit limited as it can get very busy. But if you come at a reasonable time you'll be ok. It's hard to find better Vietnamese cuisine anywhere else in town. Saigon Noodles is about as good as it gets in the within the Lafayette area. Saigon noodles is great place for a casual lunch with a dimmed atmosphere and cozy seating arrangements. I had the Bun Bo Hue which is spicy beef noodle soup (#34). Cold night in Louisiana at 40 F in December so pho was a good fix. I ordered the house special (pho dac biet) not bad. Wished it had more flavor. I think it's been skimmed too much. I like the fat and flavor that floats in the broth. Probably makes it healthier. But I'm Viet, me like the fat flavor. Would go back because it's fairly cheap and decent. The beef was sweet and well seasoned. Some had more fat and less meat but overall it was a great value. Comes with a small clear broth (lemongrass chicken broth) , white rice with fried egg and lettuce/tomato side. Very good. read more
