It's been a while since I have dined in at Pimon Thai and it was amazing. Bee was our server and…read moreshe was the sweetest server. The ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the Napa cabbage stir fry was the a great light lunch. We were able to take some food home so the perfect portions for us. To top it off, we got the mango sticky rice for desert and it was perfect mix of freshness and sweetness for us.

He seemed too sweet and I just couldn't do it. This was probably the worst food I've had at any restaurant. I am very familiar with Thai food. The pho was extremely dark and tasted like cinnamon and water, the larp pork was nothing how larp should taste. The curry was old and watered down. The pad si ew was very potent and tasted like thick oyster sauce right out of the bottle. The jasmine rice was almost room temperature and had a mildew taste from being old and sitting in a warmer for too long. We had to bring the children to chik fil an afterwards because for once, I told them it was okay that they didn't eat their food. It was my daughter's birthday and she wanted larp and pho. I will definitely be making it up to her and going somewhere else next time.

First off, I am very glad there is Thai restaurant in Lake Charles. There needs to be a couple of…read moremore. I think they have the right idea, but I will have to disagree on their execution. We got the Spring Rolls, Pad Thai, and the Pad KraPrao. Overall the food tasted good, not great. My biggest complaint is that the peanut sauce was something I've never seen (as in DID NOT LIKE) seen. It's some kind of clear liquid thing. They could buy peanut sauce in the Asian section at any grocery store and it would be better. Next was the Pad Thai. It was good, but it feels like they are more worried about the spice level than the quality of the dish. Lastly was the Pad KraPrao. I have eaten at too many Thai restaurants to count, and they all serve this dish the same way: rice on the bottom and the PKP on top. Nice and easy. This place served it (and all the dishes I saw) like Chinese food: Two huge plates, one with rice and one with the PKP. That coupled with the taste (not very good) means that I will not order that again. I will give them another chance. I'll take my own peanut sauce for the spring rolls, and pick a recommendation off of these other reviews.

This is no longer Mimi's. The new name is Kham Koon Thai Restaurant & Lunch Buffet…read more Today's lunch cost $18.07 with tax (buffet & water) I tried them when it was Mimi's once and didn't go again. I decided to give them a try under the new name. It was no different. The positives is that everyone is pretty friendly and the place is clean and orderly. I will say that both times i went I tried the buffet so maybe the food is tastier from the menu. I tried several different items on the buffet and just found that it really lacked flavor. The best item was the fresh spring rolls but I was disappointed that they don't have that good peanut butter sauce to go with them. Instead, they offer what seems to be a sweet & sour sauce from a jar. The noodles were dry and bland. Both of the curry sauces were watery and didn't have much flavor at all. The meats (chicken & beef) are the typical Chinese buffet style meats instead of pieces of chicken that look like chicken. The cucumber soup and the coconut soup are both savory (just fyi). The mango sticky rice with coconut sauce dessert-not a fan at all and coconut and mango are two of my favorite flavors. Overall, it was a decent experience; no regrets for giving it a try. But, I definitely won't go again. Sad, too, because I REALLY wanted to love it!
