My husband shops there at least three times a week, which says a lot about how much we've relied on it over the years. We genuinely like this store, but lately we've noticed a decline in the quality of the produce. Things like tomatoes appearing shriveled or, at times, even moldy. It's disappointing, especially for a place we trust for everyday shopping. I also attempted to place an order for Easter dinner, something we've done many times in the past. Prices have increased quite a bit, so this year I decided to keep it simple and order just the lamb. The online system didn't allow me to select the date I needed, so I called for help. That's where things became frustrating. I spoke with Chef Jose, and communication was difficult. I asked if he spoke Spanish, since it's my native language and I thought it might help. His response felt dismissive, mentioning he speaks Italian and other things, but the interaction itself came across as borderline rude and unhelpful. That impression was later echoed by the front desk, who suggested I contact another chef. Chef Doug, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. Even though we played a bit of phone tag, he consistently followed up with a helpful and kind attitude, which I truly appreciated. Overall, this is still a market we want to love. It has been part of our routine and community. But between the recent produce issues and inconsistent customer service, it has been a bit disappointing compared to what it once was. I'm hopeful they find their way back to the quality and warmth that made them our favorite local market in the first place. BTW, one must place the order all the way to the paying screen to be able to select the desire pick up date.

They looked incongruous in a grocery store and more like something I'd find at a gourmet doughnut shop or artisan bakery. Being a dude, I'm not really into unicorns, but these doughnuts looked too spectacular to pass up. At the risk of being called a girlie man by Arnold, I surreptitiously nabbed one from the display. Not only were the doughnuts coated in sweet vanilla icing, but there was also a thick and colorful buttercream mane. I found the dough to have a nice thick and chewy texture while also being light and pillowy. The flavor was a combination of butter in the body of the dough, along with vanilla from the icing. Unlike some chains (Dunkin), the layer of icing was thick and satisfying and that's before factoring in the extra frosting. Here are some of things that are usually on the shopping list: * dried rice noodles (for pho and noodle soups) * sauces or seasonings (hot pot broth packets, xo sauce, chicken bouillon, pho soup powder, bun bo hue soup powder, pho spices, chinese cooking wine, dashi, fried garlic, fried onion, etc.) * produce (bok choy, pea shoots) * tofu * baked goods (bbq pork buns, hot dog buns) * frozen items (dumplings, udon) I re-stock on items that I wouldn't be able to easily access to the grocery stores closer to me. It's definitely an out-of-the-way grocery trip for me, but the Park to Shop Aurora location is much closer than say, driving the Chinatown for Asian groceries. I am glad I can get what I need here, the prices are average/accessible, and there are so many options to eat Pacifica Square so it's fun to make a little trip out of it. My order usually is 1) eat something delicious in the food court or right around Pacifica Square, then 2) walk off the food by grocery shopping. Be sure to peruse the sauce aisle! That's my favorite.

Park to Shop, you can't expect the customer to always count on checking the seals of your product and there's no way for us to know the quality of the inside of a fruit. It is the basic business integrity that every grocery store needs to hold to gain customer trust. I'm very disappointed and think that Park to Shop lowered the Asian groceries' reputation bar.

You grab a basket and fill it with whatever veggies you want, then a separate one and fill it with proteins, then you pay by the weight. You can either get it hot pot style in a big bowl of hot broth, or dry pot where they cook it in the broth but serve your food already cooked. As far as the grocery selection, they have a big seafood selection and a decent butcher area. Also a lot of Asia snacks and frozen selection, and a small liquor section too. Produce is fine. But if you're making hot pot at home, they have the sliced meat, soup base, sauces, and a little frozen fish ball self-serve area. If you don't want to eat hot pot here, they serve other Asian hot dishes, and there's a bubble tea spot and bakery here, but I haven't tried anything else besides the hot pot. Sense a trend yet? It's not as big as Joong Boo, and it's bigger than the current H Mart for now but will be interesting to see how the new one compares. Overall it's a fine grocery store and we'll come back when that craving for mala spice strikes.
