Carol Stream Jewel went from mediocre to horrible. Store has been declining for years, now it is in a full tail spin. 6/26/2026 went to get a chicken meal at the deli at 6:50 pm. Deli closes at 5 pm on a Friday! WTF! Store had more employees than customers at this time. Management is non existent. read more

This is only about the deli fried chicken. The new deli looks very nice. The chicken looked very nice too. However, something about it tastes very stale today. I'm not sure if the oil was just old or if they haven't cleaned it recently. Not all the pieces but several of them. read more

Customer service is horrible don't think this people know the meaning of it, specially the lady named Denise. Never had an issue before, I went to go get lawn stickers and usually they ask what town since they have 3 different towns that you can get here, this lady doesn't say anything so I tell her, and with attitude she ask the amount because she isn't going to know ,"Denise there is no reason for attitude, if you don't like your job quit."she ends up putting the lawn stickers on the counter not even giving them to me. read more

Customers be aware that advertised sale items don't ring up properly. I've had to return multiple times at customer service to get refunds. On a Friday at 3:30pm there were no strip steaks available (sale item), Italian jar sauce rang up incorrectly-must buy 2 (sale item), and pasta rang up incorrectly-must buy 4 (sale item). The self-checkout register doesn't show the discounts until the very end - and that didn't even show up on my receipt. Jewel-Osco/Albertson's has no incentive to be honest with their advertised sales, so I will not return. I've also taken my monthly RX to their rival. Just say NO. read more

Jewel-Osco was the dominant Grocery Store - Drug Store of our youth growing up in Chicagoland, and is still the predominant grocery store for my in-laws for food and drugs. It was bought by Albertson's way back, so shares the same loyalty program as other Albertson stores like Vons back home...and we can use our phone number as identifier. We needed to get some extra Tribunes and Heralds, and they were located in the front (though we missed it initially since only on the Osco side and we came in through the Jewel side). One weekday Tribune is $4 now (Herald being $2)....crazy that I remember it being a quarter for the longest time. The writing in it has gone significantly down in quality, though out the years and not many people get it home delivered. It's just a matter of time before the home delivery (and physical print) part gets dropped...even the display at Jewel was sad...a few papers there, and somebody hadn't bothered removing the older editions from previous days (so need to make sure you are getting the right date when grabbing one). read more

Visited on a Sunday evening and the store was pretty busy. This wasn't my regular store so I walked around to check things out. The first thing I noticed was how cluttered the aisles seemed. There was so many special displays there were places it was hard to get through. The floors were clean and the displays were in order. I had 2 items so I went to the self checkout. Of the 6 stations only 4 were working and there were people with full cart using them so I had to wait awhile. The parking lot is kind of dark and I would have liked it brighter. It's a bit lot so no worries about getting a parking spot. read more

Only 2 people in pharmacy.1 had 4 people applying for covid or flu shots or whatever. the other person was typing stuff into computer filling a prescription while taking phone calls. Meanwhile, the person in front of me and myself waited at least 15 minutes without even being acknowledged. I switched from mejeir to come here but it seems like this was a mistake. This happens a lot. I then went with my groceries to check out .I was 4th in line with 3 others behind me.no other registers open. It took well over 20 minutes to get to me, meanwhile the line was getting longer. As i came up to pay, the bagger said to the cashier(Gina), looks like they might open another register soon, to which Gina replied, I really don't care what they do. This store is very congested and isles are always blocked with stock palets and carts from employees. The produce section is designed so you feel trapped like in a maze. It seems like they are trying to cram more than they can handle with the square footage they have. Not very user friendly. read more

If only there is a Valli Produce nearby to save me from the sad selection of produce Jewel provides, I would go there. Not only are the produce fresher and more abundant at Valli, but their prices are better. Lets do a little comparison: Tomatoes V - $0.49/lb J - $1.99/lb Whole Seedless Watermelon V - $2.50 each J - $4.99 each Corn V - $0.17 each J - $0.33 each Steak V - $1.99/lb J - $4.99/lb V for victory. Alas, I choose to come here because it's closer and they lull me into a false sense of savings through my preferred card. Every now and then, they do have a real sale where I can pick up a $3 24-pack of bottled water, $2 box of cereal, or $0.39 canned tuna. PIZZA PUFF: They're right next to the roasted chicken and ready-to-eat food display. It's delicious (not overly greasy) and only $1.39! REDBOX: There are 2 of them located inside the store. My wife and I shop here with this store. We want to buy some groceries for our mini store. We got lucky to park our car since there is one vacant only. When we enter there are a lot of customers inside. They are busy buying their groceries for Christmas. The floors are also clean even though there are many people passing by. Some staff are ready to clean the floor when they see a dirty floor. Some of the inventory is empty. So we decided to come here by afternoon. In the afternoon we went there again. There are few people inside. The inventory is full of stock now. It is organized well. So we buy groceries not in a tiring and hassle way. I will recommend this store for you. read more

I like this jewel. Went on a Friday at afternoon and it was clean and well stocked. Lots of displays with sale items besides having it also in the shelf which so many times you go in to take advantage of the sales and shelf is empty. My shopping experience at Jewel-Osco was excellent. The store was clean, well-stocked, and offered everything on my shopping list. They have a great staff who is super knowledgeable on all the products on the shelves and will help you find anything your looking for. The prices were affordable. The freshest most beautiful looking vegetables and fruit I have seen yet in my area. There were no lines for self-serve and regular check-out counters. The employees were all polite and gracious. Was able to pay using half cash and half debit card. Very enjoyable shopping. Overall highly recommend this location for any of your supermarket needs! read more

This place is definitely one of the better Jewels around. This store is run as expected. Their prices are so fair and reasonable. Their store is well-maintained, well-stocked, and well-organized. You can easily get and find anything you need and want, you can also find some of their great deals, such as promos, discounts, and even sale items. They even have good deals on their meat and some of their items selection. Their store is very clean, nice, and bright. All of their items are always new and their fruits, meats, veggies are always fresh and up-to-date. No wonder why lot of people really loves their store and keeps shopping there again and again. Their employees here are very friendly, attentive, and helpful. They made my experience better. They are so willing to help all of us (customers). They even guide the customers to other departments so that they can easily find the things they are looking for. All of them are so accommodating. I had everything that I need to get. No long lines. I will try to avoid this Jewel like the plague. They run out of sale items in the blink of an eye. The produce section is always lacking. I usually end up leaving without what I needed since the options are just that bad. With Marianos and Meijer nearby, their pricing is hardly competitive for the items being offered. The deli is another whole nightmare. I waited over THIRTY minutes yesterday, and there were still 8 customers ahead of me. They are clearly short-handed, and they have a sign up to notify people that they are hiring. That area is just so horribly managed, and I was so frustrated after having waited so long, that I ended up leaving empty-handed and as a future non-returning customer. The produce section is truly something else. Either items are out of stock, or in awful condition. It's like trying to pick between bad produce or no produce - neither one is okay! I truly cannot stand coming to this Jewel, and after yesterday, I will try my very best to make it to any other grocery store that actually knows how to manage their departments and keep their pricing competitive. read more

I am keeping the four star rating but adding content from my most recent (and very pleasant) experience. I recently hosted my sister's baby shower - she lives in West Chicago, and I live in St. Louis. I did my research on cost-effective catering for a group of about 30. They have an online ordering system that is ULTRA user friendly/easy to use. I love that. I added all the deli/catering/bakery items I wanted into my cart. I could make small adjustments to the items (i.e. add swiss cheese vs add american cheese). I set the time and date to pick up the order. I ordered a week in advance but they will do up to 24 hours notice. Nice! When I went on Saturday to pick up my order, everything was ready, boxed up, and packed into a cart when I arrived. There is no pay online option, but paying in-store was not a hassle at all. I ordered three different sandwich/wrap platters. Each fed 12-16 people for a total of $101. I also got a platter of 36 cookies for $6. Not bad! The food was all well-recieved at the party. I would order from again if I needed to feed a large group for a low cost. read more

I like jewel a lot, but this location has lots of issues. Tons of items missing (unlike all other local jewel stores) and a staff that has a hard time making things right (or understanding how to make things right) when they are missing items. I've run into this several times at this location, and really never do at other local jewel stores. (Seriously guys, just take steps to make customers satisfied, don't pinch pennies when you are missing tons of inventory). It's not horrible, they just have work to do to bring it up to proper standards. read more

This is one of my favorite grocery store. It's located in the conner of Army Trail and the County Farm. The store is cleaned and organized. This store carries many variety of vegetables compared to other Jewel-Oscos in the neighborhoods. Vegetables and fruits are fresh. They always keep more than enough supplies in stock even when they are on sale. Customer service gives out the rain check or offer substitute item when they run out of supplies. The staff is friendly and helpful. Jewel-Osco has a website called mymixx my savings, which offers many coupons. They have Saturday sampler for customers to try their new food. Lately, they have many back to school promotions. They have a kitchen where they make delicious fresh food. Also, a bakery with donuts, bagels, fresh bread, and pastries !! I really recommend coming to this store to buy anything from apples to laundry detergent or soap! They also have as pharmacy and liquor department. I come here very often for my grocery. read more

The early morning checkout crew on Tuesdays have repeatedly collaborated to harass me when I go through self check out. The three women on the floor along with the service desk manager Chris seem to get a kick out of giving me the business. I have been coming to this store for 30 years and I can't believe how mean and insensitive these 4 women are. They are definitely a cliche of harassing Male customers. The pharmacy is horrible. I'm not shure if it's under staffed. I just called to ask if my prescriptions are ready. I requested them 3 days ago and am out of my medication. They said it will be ready in a couple hours. Well in a couple hours they might be closed. I need to change pharmacy ASAP. Do not recommend anyone use this pharmacy. read more

Three quarters the way through my grocery list and my toddler decides to fling her head forward and bonk her teeth on the cart bar.... I know, ouch. Cue meltdown. Kid in one arm, pushing the cart with the other I bolted through the rest of my list and rushed to the register. No one else was in line. The bagger saw me coming and rushed over to my aid. She pulled up my cart, started to unload it and said, "I got this honey." The man behind the register was ready with a handful of paper towels and a sympathetic look. Jewel is really overpriced. The store itself is ok. The produce section is not the best, but it has a decent selection. But not always fresh. However, prices are so high at Jewel. But it's so close. I'm literally a minute drive. I mean, I'm so close that I'd consider walking if it wasn't for the fact that I'd have to lug my groceries. Maybe I should invest in a radio flyer. But oh yeah, they are super expensive. Put it this way. A gallon of Dean's whole milk is like $4.99 at Jewel. At Walgreens it's like $2.50 I expect Walgreens to be higher for these kind of staple items, not Jewel. I try to only go here when I am lazy or in a hurry. read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars. I was in line to buy bananas today. The clerk was having a lot of trouble with the customer in front of me. Then the service center clerk opened her line. She kept calling people over one at a time. But, I should have been first and she kept ignoring me So, I decided to step over to her register.
