Here is the update I said I would wrote. After about 6 months of no delivery of our furniture, I took both the shop and it's owner to court. Jason suddenly reached out to me. With promises of getting things delivered if I stopped the law suit. We went back and forth for another 3 months of promises with constant no delivery show up. Just when we were getting closer to 2nd court date then we got our stuff delivered. Then I cancelled the law suit. Would I go back? Absolutely not. I'd rather buy IKEA. Even though the issue got resolved after almost a year, and the owner requested me to remove other reviews on other sites, I just can't remove this one and would rather update it. Do not use Jason or buy anything from this shop. The owner is a conman. I saw many bad reviews online and despite them I engaged Jason to provide interior design services for my new home. I was charged over $20k over 6 months ago and I am still waiting for my goods to be delivered. I listened to every excuse in the book for 6 months: his car broke down, he was sick, his fiance was sick, he was moving, his business partner was having issues, he was working on other priorities, his medication was off, and on and on. Very nice items for sale----- however----- They Took my money- promised dining set in 1 week, it's Been 2+ months. Excuses beyond belief. Promised for thanksgiving- nothing- Excuses range: -closed for renovations -death in Family - illness - showroom closed for days with no explanation - was told product was In Store , when i went to pickup- tried giving me used product - latest excuse was a roof leak in warehouse ruined my product and have to order again. This is the second time this happened with my orders - first order was in wxcesss of $8k( took 4 months for delivery) This less..... Good, positive experience. The two women who ran the store could not have been nicer. The store receives & displays new items on Saturdays so that's the day to visit. It's a high-end consignment shop with Crate & Barrel, Restoration Hardware, & Pottery Barn pieces frequently displayed. There are also beachy pieces of art & antiques available. It was a no-pressure visit & we, also, went to the warehouse in Manasquan to check out the inventory there. Nice owners & fun to visit! read more

Do NOT sell your items to this company if they contact you via Craigslist. I thought they seemed legitimate but they most definitely are not. They have had my item for 6 months now (they originally told me it would take only a few weeks to sell) and when I call to check if it has sold they either do not respond or say "not yet." I live too far to check to see if they have actually sold it or not. I have seen other people complain on the company's Facebook page about the same thing and the posts are mysteriously deleted. Sounds like a pattern here. Cramer picked up sofas from me to sell, gave me the runaround for months and stopped returning calls. Never received payment or the return of my sofas. Gave up suing since I'd have to travel to Monmouth county to sue in that county. read more

I come in here every weekend and absolutely LOVE it! The inventory changes pretty much daily and even though its consignment, the quality of the products is impeccable. The staff is friendly and competent and they are always willing to negotiate. As a younger customer with shallow pockets, I can always find something cute to spruce up the home and when I buy my first house they will be my first stop! I had a horrible experience with this store and the owner Jason. To make a very long story short, I purchased 3 items from him: 2 dressers (matching) on consignment and a dining room table which I never saw in person, but Jason told me he had in his own home and never used/was in perfect condition, and was selling to me at a discount. Right now, I have 1 of the dressers which has a horrible smell and I believe the wood is rotting. I have the dining table which is completely scratched up and damaged, and I never received the 3rd dresser. It was been about 4 months. Jason and I have communicated via text only in which case he has told me a) he had open heart surgery b) a family member died c) his truck broke down on the parkway d) he slept through his alarm e) his business partner stole $300k from him... and the list goes on. I have spoken to family friends and others who have lost thousands of dollars on "custom furniture" that he never delivered to them. There are many police reports filed on Jason and this store. I respect small businesses, especially those located in Monmouth County where I grew up, but this store and the owner are the most unprofessional people who stole from me and from others. read more

Beautiful store! There's another furniture company in the front with beautiful, modern pieces called "outpost." The owners are very friendly and informative. The furniture in the consignment section is in great condition. The sales-woman accurately called it "restoration hardware/ pottery barn beach collection". She's exactly right! I will be back for sure! read more

I don't know what's up with this place. Used to be a decent place to find a good bargain (albeit hit or miss). Now it's completely overpriced and they've made half of the store into a coffee bar/private event space. It's bizarre. They are selling used furniture for more than you would pay for it brand new. We have had a overall fantastic experience with Jason at Sailor Trading Company. We live in New York City and were contracted via Craigslist about possibly selling our high end furniture thru Sailor Trading Company. We ended up consigning 9 restoration hardware pieces and over a 30day span they were ALL sold and we were paid on the 10th as stated in the contract. We would recommend this company to anyone. They were very informative, organized, and most importantly their moving personnel went the extra mile to professionally wrap our furniture. The most hateful experience with this company. Hate spread two times. Alcohol fueled sales staff making idle threats. The store has excellent product. The sad part is they have such hateful staff with threats and bad behavior it ruins the "true shore experience" Run as fast as you can if you are a women alone,... I would not recommend anyone ever be treated like this again. Avoid the hate in the seagirt store and maybe you can go to the one in avon nj. the owner however turns a blind eye,.. to the behavior of her staff. It will be her downfall. Locals talk and the talk is,.. avoid at all costs. This is not a community that needs used furniture. A high end thrift shop can ruin a town,.. sorry avon and seagirt.
