I brought my dog on the beach down the road and got a lot of dirty looks and apparently beaches aren't dog friendly for some reason. So a lot of people had a lot of dogs here walking around. They had two Porta potties that are not well-maintained. You can walk along the walkway, they have a few regular porch swings and a few kids swings. There wasn't any grass for dogs to go to the bathroom which would've been nice.

That being said, I hesitate to post this because I truly do love supporting local businesses. But with tourist season starting, I think it's important to share an honest experience. The first few times we went out with this company, it was amazing. We followed the shrimp boats and not only saw tons of dolphins, but also got a close-up look at the shrimp boats pulling in shrimp and other sea creatures. They would even bring a few things onboard for the kids (and adults) to see before tossing them back. It made the experience feel really unique and memorable. However, ever since the shrimp boat has been out of commission (probably the last year and a half), we honestly haven't seen dolphins the last 3-4 trips. I completely understand there are never guarantees with wildlife, but it has been a little disappointing. It's still a nice boat ride for the cost -- I would just suggest not getting your kids too excited about dolphins and making sure they understand sightings are never guaranteed. Yesterday, we went on the sunset cruise, and unfortunately it was one of the worst experiences we've had. I understand the policy is that the cruise runs rain or shine, but the ocean conditions were rough enough that I truly don't think they should have taken people out. There were young children onboard, people getting sick, and several passengers who were visibly scared as we went through large swells offshore. As someone who has been on this boat many times, even I was uncomfortable. If it had been my first trip, I honestly would have been terrified. Considering the boat had already gone out multiple times earlier that day, I feel like they should have recognized the conditions were not ideal -- especially knowing there was little chance of seeing dolphins in waters that rough. I just think better judgment should have been used. If you're visiting for a family vacation, I would strongly recommend checking ocean conditions beforehand, because I'm not sure cancellations are considered unless absolutely necessary.

We booked a dolphin cruise with Voyager Deep Sea Fishing & Dolphin Cruises expecting an actual ocean dolphin tour. Instead, the boat spent almost an hour slowly moving from the dock to the inlet. When we reached the entrance to the ocean, the captain announced that the waves were "too big" and the boat did not have enough horsepower to go out to sea. The problem? Other boats of similar size were going out through the inlet without hesitation while we were sitting there. We even saw jet skis going out. The water conditions did not appear severe at all. Our boat never entered the ocean. It stayed behind the rock jetties, made a couple of circles, and then headed back. We saw ZERO dolphins. The captain said: "We are lucky we turned around so we are not swimming back." Honestly, that was frustrating to hear after paying for a dolphin cruise that never even reached the ocean. If the vessel cannot safely handle ordinary inlet conditions, it should not be marketed as an ocean dolphin cruise. The entire trip lasted about 2 hours and 35 minutes -- basically the full advertised duration -- but the actual experience was just drifting around and returning. Calling this "Deep Sea Fishing & Dolphin Cruises" feels misleading when there was no deep sea, no fishing, no dolphins, and not even an ocean trip. This felt like a complete waste of time and money.

It is obvious that there are a lot of community volunteers that take a lot of pride in this park and make sure it is maintained. My wife said there were even fresh cut flowers in the ladies room. We ended up spending time here twice during our vacation at Myrtle Beach and I can't imagine ever coming this way again and not spending time here. The park has clean restrooms, a picnic pavilion and a playground area as well. It is popular with people for walking their dogs but it was never crowded with people or dogs when we were there. There is an observation walkway/dock over the water and a boat/fishing dock that rises and falls with the tide. There were a few fishermen using the dock as well as fishing from the Intracoastal Waterway bank each time we visited. There is a small parking lot with some additional parking nearby. There was plenty of parking when we visited.
